while we're that close, I have started thinking it doesn't make sense NOT to pop over to France for two days (a half day travel and a day in the park) for Disney France. So the DVC could be used there as well? One of those three places. Point is: I see we'd have plenty opportunity to utilize our DVC if we went to Europe.

Here is how we'd use it for the first five years, and probably very similar for the rest of the term because it's how we travel. Most of the time we stay in the campground. But there are times for special weekends (Halloween, Food/Wine, Flower/Garden, Star Wars) that we like to make a flying trip down on Thursday and check out on Sunday. Sometimes the camper wouldn't follow us. Sometimes we'd hop in the Yukon and take turns driving in one big day haul (14 hrs). Sometimes we'd fly. So points for those weekends. Usually once a year. We also want to take cruises. It looks like we are looking at

That guy kept following me around for five days. Couldn't get rid of him. -
Oh my god. Please, please PULLLEEEEEAAAAAZZZZEEEEE let Jody in on the "That Guy" strategy. Do you know how many times we go through that place so he can be "That Guy". Except he has never been picked as "that guy". Which means I have to go back in again. And again. And again. And I have to watch him pout. Which isn't manly at all. It's embarrassing. I've taken to begging the CMs, please give me mercy and let him be That Guy!

Considering First Trip
magnoliafig replied to CakeHenn's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
As a disney fan, we have done it both ways. There is a state park 11 miles from the entrance to WDW. It took us all of thirty minutes to make the drive when we pulled out. We have also stopped 4-5 hours away. To me it's a bigger thrill to wait for the orange orchards, and finally seeing them. Knowing you're getting close. And then there is the citrus stand I always love to stop at. And the truck plaza we always stop for bathroom break and whatnot. There are landmarks in those last two or three hours that are part of the trip I'd miss. It's kind of like getting married. The walk up the aisle -
Considering First Trip

Yup! Mom and Dad are divorced, but he still loves to travel. He is planning his first long distance long term road trip touring the Alaskan highway. Two months, two weeks to get there, two weeks to get back, a month just driving wherever he wants to go. -
Considering First Trip

Yes he did. When I saw Stef complaining about some jackwagon running over a grill on a site in the 500 loop (her red, white boo trip), I thought "oh no. oh no no no. A fiend is not unknowingly complaining about another fiend and that fiend in question is my husband" I had to walk out and ask very hesitantly, Honey, which site were we on last time? -

Oh my god… This broke my brain. ROFL I remember as a child, my father pulled out of the east entrance to Yellowstone National Park. We took a 3 hour rest area nap somewhere around Denver Colorado and made it home to Central Louisiana in under 36 hours, a day and half after leaving Wyoming. My husband was dutifully trained by Dad when we started dating. I'd be disowned and divorced if I said "six hours! time to stop!!!" That's lunch time, we have 10 more hours to go. Mom detested it though. Hated our trips, come to find out, because we never took it slow. I love it. Drive like a bandit out o -

I have felt so sorry for TCD, I've researched homemade cinnamon rolls. The kind that takes overnight to rise, with yeasty bread dough goodness. -

Meeko! We stumbled on the same thing a few years back. IIRC it was Thumper's girlfriend, Turk, and somebody else. Very unexpected. But kind of cool. Oh, and Fuego! -

No Fuego? No language barrier. Everybody understands when some poor panicked soul gestures maniacally, shouting boom!
