13 Amazing Uses For Listerine That Every Woman Should Know

    By Sandra |

    facebook

While you're constantly trying to remember to use mouthwash every day, Listerine is good for more than just to rinse out your mouth.

Listerine was actually developed in 1878 as a surgical antiseptic, and was used for all sorts of things. It only was marketed to fight bad breath in the 1970s.

Much like VaporRub and Vaseline, you can add Listerine to the list of things in your medicine cabinet that can have a positive impact on your health. Listerine is no longer a simple mouthwash, but a way to remove fungus, and even repel fleas on your pets.

Check out this list of things that you can use your bottle of Listerine for.

    13. Soak Your Feet In It

If you have had some stubborn toenail fungus that you are itching to get rid of, try running yourself a Listerine foot bath. Simply mix some Listerine with warm water and soak your feet for 30 minutes. For more stubborn infections, you can add some white vinegar to the mix.

    12. Pour It Down The Toilet

No, you're not just flushing your money away. Listerine is good for cleaning and deodorizing your toilet. Just pour a little on your toilet brush and scrub the entire bowl. It will leave it clean and with a great smell too!

    11. Stop The Itch

Have an itch that you can't seem to get rid of? Whether it's insect bites or a poison ivy rash, Listerine can actually help! Just dab some on a cotton ball and apply it to the affected area and feel the itch disappear.

    10. Rub It Under Your Arms

Did you run out of deodorant and forget to buy a new stick? Listerine is actually very good at fighting underarm odor. Pour a bit on a cotton ball and rub it all over your armpit when you're in a pinch.

    9. Ditch The Dandruff

Say goodbye to dandruff with the help of Listerine. Most people wouldn't think about applying the mouthwash to their scalp, but it can actually help get rid of those pesky flakes.

Simply massage some Listerine onto your scalp and wrap your hair in a towel. After letting it sit for a few minutes, wash it away and say goodbye to that dandruff too.

    8. It Can Help Your Pup Too

Don't waste your money on expensive flea sprays and pet products when you can go for a more natural approach.

Try mixing some Listerine with your pup's shampoo or dilute it with water in a spray bottle to take advantage of its positive benefits.

    7. Use It On Your Face

Your face will feel more clean than you ever thought imaginable thanks to the positive powers of Listerine. Just pour some on a cotton ball and use it on your face.

Because of its antiseptic qualities you can even battle acne with it!

    6. Clean Your Toothbrush With It

Well this one sounds more like it's intended purpose. Since Listerine is good to battle germs inside your mouth, it's also good to remove them from your toothbrush as well.

Just fill a glass with some Listerine and let your toothbrush soak. By morning it will be as good as new!

    5. Use It As A Screen Cleaner

Move aside Windex, Listerine has this one covered. Spray some of the mouthwash over your screen or put some on a cloth and wipe away all the dust, dirt and oils that may have built up on the surface. Not only will it get rid of all the gross things, but it will also wipe away fingerprints. Let's not forget that nice minty smell as opposed to the typical chemicals you smell after cleaning.

    4. Toss It In Your Trash

Having issue with your trash starting to stink? Soak a paper towel in Listerine and put it at the bottom of the bag. Sure beats the smell of garbage in the kitchen!

    listerine5-1.PNG

    3. Prevent The Spread Of Lice

Products to prevent the spread of lice can get really expensive! Why not try a home remedy with something you already have in your bathroom?

Soak your hair in Listerine and then cover it with a shower cap. Let it work its magic for two hours and then wash and rinse your hair like normal.

    2. Remove A Tick

Ticks can be a big problem in the summer, and Listerine can help.

Fold up a paper towel and soak it in Listerine. Then place it on top of the tick for a few second and the tick will let go. Now that's a relief!

    1. Heal Bruises Faster

Do people tell you that you "bruise like a peach"? Help your bruises heal a lot faster with the help of Listerine.

Dab a Listerine-soaked cotton ball onto the bruised area. It will help the blood to flow and help the bruise heal faster.

Christmas has come to Epcot at Walt Disney World this week. We walked around the tree which sits just in front of the lagoon and looked at all the details. There are small flags and ornaments representing each land around the showcase.

However, now, for the holidays, WDW is passing out to passholders a new Goofy magnet.  I will be getting our set(s) during Thanksgiving.  How about you?

Also, I have two that I need to trade for, which is the Christmas Mickey and Flower and Garden Mickey.  I will be willing to trade Snarky stickers or other Passholder magnets.  Like I said, I will be in the Disney area Thanksgiving week.  Let me know if you want to trade via mail or in person.

That’s right.  When you bite into this perfect pastry you’ll get twice the yummy icing.  For the holidays Disney has added an extra layer of red icing over the already mouthwatering white.

I didn't get to go this year for well, reasons, but I just traded with this awesome gal for an annual passholder magnet for Food and Wine.  She didn't have the black and white passholder magnet and she had an extra.  I somehow feel vindicated.  Now, I will go and fetch the new Goofy holiday one over Thanksgiving week.  Those are super cool.  My fridge needs all the magnets, lol.

  13. Nicole, that is a good idea.  I asked Chris (aka SuperGeek) and he says that he would be willing to do it (add comments) but it will be by submission.  (meaning you submit it and he puts them in by an update)  There are specific reasons why, which I won't bore you with, but he said that he would love comments.  Please submit them to us either on this thread or via pm and we will start compiling!
