  1. TCD had speculated that some additional loops may open for this holiday weekend. I was wondering if all the loops will be open by Halloween since it's always packed. They did send us an email asking to confirm that we were keeping our reservation.
  2. Don't know if this is real Saw a post on FB where a user said they couldn't purchase a Silver AP, but they were only offering Platinum and Platinum+ passes.
  3. Yeah, they are trying to save face and make some $$ since they royally pissed off the FL passholders.
  4. It looks like the Sheriff released their video to the media this past Monday 8/31. At least that's when the story started re-appearing on line.
  5. He might, if they want to make an example of him to discourage others from copying his antics. I've longingly looked at the various canals throughout the property thinking they would make for some nice kayaking!
  6. If you look at google satellite view and go to the N end of bay lake it looks like a little dock is on the lake at the end of a dirt road Bay Ct. It's up near the boat repair area but off to the right.
  7. I did a google map search to see where that neighborhood was located where they found the van. If the correct results can back it's not that close to Bay Lake. It would be interesting to see where he launched from and where they caught up to him.
  8. This has been on a lot of media outlets down here in FL. https://www.clickorlando.com/news/local/2020/08/31/this-is-sketchy-video-shows-manhunt-for-trespasser-on-disney-world-island/ The video chronicles around a dozen deputies searching the deserted island for McGuire – on foot, on boat – and takes on an almost surreal quality. Indeed, check out the cop who asks at the 4:30 mark, after entering a particularly foreboding building, "What is this, where they hatch baby dinosaurs?"

The Black Lives Matter awareness actions led by NBA players and referees in "the bubble" at Walt Disney World might seem like a rare instance of reality crashing into the well-manicured fantasy world of the vacation kingdom, but the walkoff was just the latest
  10. Guess they didn't use the time they were shut down to fix their web presence!
  11. Figured you would have your hands full, especially if Disney's sites were acting up.
  12. More information https://www.wdwinfo.com/news-stories/magic-is-here-with-new-discount-offerings-at-walt-disney-world-resort/ Looks like if you go with a room/ticket package it's open to anyone and it includes the Fort. Rooms only are for the selected states.
  13. Saw a couple of FB posts that Disney opened up reservation discounts @ 06:00 am for the resorts and the Fort for residents in the following states only. Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, N Carolina, S Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and W Virginia. Reports were that the reservations and call centers both crashed and are unavailable at this time. One person reported that the discount applies to currently booked reservations also.
  14. Interesting article, making lemonade out of lemons https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/ghost-cruise-boat-tour-uk/index.html CNN) — Gaze out to the English Channel from the southwest coast of the UK right now and you might see something unexpected -- a series of gigantic cruise ships haunting the horizon. Their passengers have vanished and they're going nowhere. While these ships, taken out of the service because of the coronavirus pandemic, are no longer carrying tourists, the eerie spectacle they've created has now generated its own mini tourism industry, thanks to an
  15. I had read that there were issues with Internet service providers Sunday morning, didn't know that Disney was affected... Posted on August 30, 2020 Due to a nationwide internet outage, it seems Disney’s Hollywood Studios is facing some serious technical difficulties. One of which has park guests taking the internet by storm to voice their frustrations. According to a new report by Digital Trends, it seems select parts of the nation faced a massive internet outage this morning. These areas included Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Portland, Miami, and Orlando–home of the Walt Disne
  16. Yeah, we stayed in both partials in the past, but was just wondering if they will be stricter if all the loops aren’t open.
  17. Jason and Disney had sent me emails saying I had to answer if I was keeping my reservations or cancelling them. The next visit we have scheduled is Halloween which we are keeping. Only concern we have is we now have the T@B camper and we had booked a partial when we still had the PUP. We've used the T@B twice at the Fort in partial sites with no blowback. Just wondering if they will be an issue with the new Covid rules
  18. I gave Jason our dates for Halloween 2021, and last time he checked it still wasn't open for reservations.
  19. Couple of speculative articles I've seen said that attendance is below expectations, and has been declining each week over a 5 week period. And passholders have become pissedoffholders saying lack of available reservations, no park hopping, closed attractions, etc making the value of the pass not equal to what they paid. Disney's comeback was they were offering the chance to get out of the passes, but there was sooo much conflicting information of how to do it and how much $ people would get back. One article said you got back the value of the remaining months on your pass.
  20. Get them while you can.... According to the Disney Park Pass theme park reservation calendar, Disney has completely refilled each and every day in September and October for Annual Passholders. This is the most widespread reallocation of Park Pass availability we’ve seen yet. Dates such as Labor Day weekend and Halloween are now completely available for booking for Annual Passholders.
  21. I’m guessing that all loops will be open getting closer to Halloween, unless they have a lot of cancellations.
  22. I was able to locate the article about the differences between the weekend attendance and weekdays. https://blogmickey.com/2020/08/how-much-worse-is-it-to-visit-disney-world-on-the-weekends/ This are the most surprising differences at AK Just like the other parks, Saturday is the busiest day of the week at Disney’s Animal Kingdom too. Unlike normal trends in the past, we don’t see a fluctuation in the days of the week that are busy for a theme park. Now, the advice is: avoid the weekends at all costs. When compared to other days of the week, here’s how Saturday’s wait tim
  23. It's hit or miss on the majority of the sites. One may be shady in the morning but sunny by mid day or evening. Most are shady at least part of the day.
  24. For the most part, news outlets are reporting that attendance is well below what Disney was expecting. Even if they open up the parks to higher attendance counts, the experts are speculating that some families with children are not planning on going to the parks. But in the same vein, some FB posters are saying the parks are mobbed. There was an interesting FB post that showed the difference in attendances between Saturday and weekdays. Most of the best days were Tuesday/Wednesday.
