  1. Holy crap you DO have a TR going on! Wow! It took me a while, but I"m all caught up now. I love the decals on your van. I was out running the other day and saw this sweet momma (looking not too un-like INC) parking a big ol' passenger van (not too un-like yours). I thought of you immediately and thought "What is INC doing here in the Carolinas?" Then I saw HER decals. She had 7 kid mouses and 3 pet mouses. Can't wait to see more!!!
  2. Wow wow wow! What amazing pictures! I am disappointed you did not slide down the dino's back... I think I'll go get on mapquest and see if I can follow your route. I have been to Yellowstone once via airplane. I can't wait to see the drive! How cool that someone would bike across the mountains like that - and apparently across the country! I would be way too chicken to do that without a buddy.

    Let's Cruise...

Sounds like staying on the ship is going to be in order! And I never thought about doing something like that at SeaWorld. Duh. The description of the transportation reminds me of getting around in Mexico, TCD  I remember one bus had so many holes in the floor, you could watch the ground fly by underneath it. Dave! Glad you guys had a good trip! I better go see if you have a TR going... and glad to hear there was no sea sickness! Green apples and crackers... never would have thought of that! SO.... on that same line of thinking - the day we do Castaway Cay - I see they have paddle
  4. I have never seen this thread... just read all 7 pages and I am touched by everyone's love for their fur babies and warmed by their love for fellow Fiends. I am also so sorry to hear of all the loss just in the past few months. I have a couple of hooligans waiting for me someday too...and I won't even fuss at them if they jump on me and scratch up my legs... We just lost Bob a few weeks ago, and I am dogless for the first time since '95.
  5. DL looks really very cool! I notice there are a lot of old-school-Disney-but-less-seen-at-WDW characters there and rides for them as well. I do like that. Even though DD loves it, I think sometimes WDW is a little too princess driven. I'm just sayin' Yay on the storm trooper! I love Star Wars too  Can't wait for more! Thanks for continuing to post for us - I know it takes a lot of work!
  6. What a fun and educational TR! A friend at work is a vegetarian (truly) and I'll have to let her know that she can feel free to enjoy lunchables, bacon, and pina coladas! :rofl3: Sounds like a successful first trip! I've enjoyed reading it~ thanks for taking time to write it!

    Let's Cruise...

Sounds like a good idea! I will give the non-drowsy dramamine a trial run just to see what it does to me a few weeks before, then do the Cherie method starting early! I definitely think supplementing with akeehol will be in the plan... :rofl3: I will also pack some ginger snaps for good measure. My first trimester with DD, I was so sick. All I ate was PB&J, ginger snaps, and sour Skittles. Yes, we are on the Dream! Too excited! Okay, so next topic of interest... we will have one stop in Nassau. I was considering doing one of those "swim with the dolphins" excursions. I have two main
  8. What an impressive line-up of characters! Wow! And, going back to the pics of the Spanish Mission - that would make a beautiful place for a wedding. I was sharing your report with DH and he enjoyed it too! I can't believe we are only a week into it... Can't wait to see more!
  9. Okay that does it. Selling the house and hitting the road. :heartsmiley: Seriously, though, what an awesome trip! Just the kind of adventure that I can't WAIT to take DD on one summer together! National Parks, San Diego Zoo, Disneyland, you guys really did it all! I'm already curious, though. Was the trip home tough? Or did you plan a totally different (and also awesome) route home? I have often thought about flying out to like Lubbock or Amarillo and renting an RV from there - my rationale is that we've just SEEN everything from here to there 875 times... And I like Silvia's smile, too

    Let's Cruise...

Okay I just booked our cruise  and I don't remember what the category is, but it is a Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with a Verandah - I remember that because I thought it was funny it had such a long name. I wonder why they use the term "deluxe"? All of them are deluxe. But, I guess Disney doesn't want to use a boring old term like "standard" or something. It will also be on Deck 6. Looks like we will be just above the lifeboats, which is fine. Thanks for all the input! I feel very good about that choice now. I was going to ask if anyone ever had problems with seas

    Let's Cruise...

Oh, now that would be cool! You read my mind about seasickness! That will be my next line of questions for you guys. I really don't know if we will use the room a ton or not. It really depends on how tired DH and DD get. I am the busy-busy-go-go person, but my peeps need their rest. Woosies. :rofl2:
  12. Enjoying your pics and story tremendously! You guys covered a LOT of ground.

    Let's Cruise...

Well, I wouldn't say money is not an issue, but we are definitely splurging! I like the thought of spending money on other cruise related things - that makes a lot of sense! The lower decks are cheaper than the uppers, and concierge is seriously more expensive, so we will lay low! Although we have never cruised, this sounds a lot like we vacation in general. We are planning on lots of "doing nothing" in between the fun cruise activities. Even at WDW we take naps and relax in our room. I like the idea of watching the fireworks from the verandah! Oh, man, this is how we used to do it be

    Let's Cruise...

So, we are planning to book a Disney cruise for our 10th anniversary next year! DD will be 5, and we think it will make a great family trip! :jumpforjoy I know I can count on the Fiends to have ALL the answers, so here I am! Now, neither of us have ever been on ANY cruise, so I'm just going to start shooting off questions. Some stupid, some good ones, and some will make you laugh real hard, I'm sure. :rofl2: First, I have to book a stateroom. I know we want a verandah room. There are like 87 kinds of verandah rooms. I "think" I narrowed it down to either deck 6 or deck 5. The deck 5 list
  15. Hey! I just now figured out that this TR has kept going! Duh. I really should get out more. I loved the commentary and pics! You made me feel like I was home. If only you guys had taken off hunting after that, the homesickness would be complete. That portajohn was NASSSTEEE! I would prefer the tree as well. Where I grew up, it would not be unusual to hear someone shout into the woods "Hurry up Stef - shake the dew off yer lily and let's go!" :rofl2: I also enjoyed Big Time getting stuck. That's always really funny - especially when they're cocky. It's only a little funny whe
  16. They did have a lot of marine life - and other animals too. I didn't get pictures of a fraction of what we saw. It was funny, I always wonder about how animals cope and adapt to the climate their zoo is in. We were passing the elephants and I made a comment about how well they seemed to deal with the heat. DH said "Yeah, cause you know, there's no heat in Africa..." :smartass: Thanks - I like that pic too! Yeah, LOL, I guess I should say it appeared Disney-ish. It was so cheap to get in! No problem! Thanks for joining in! We have done the brewery tour too! Love that tasting room
  17. SO glad you guys had fun! SO impressed that you guys did a tent in July in FL with no a/c! whooop whoop  Boo to things going missing - sounds like some of those rowdy teenagers might have gotten brave enough to go trick-or-treating a little early. :gaah: Thanks for posting!
  18. Great TR, Carol - I'm loving it! My DD would absolutely FLIP over AoA! We just stayed at Pop a few weeks ago, and I purposefully (is that a word?) didn't walk over there because I didn't want her to think lesser of our hotel. :rofl2: I also like your setup - showed it to DH - that would be cool to use the canopy over the tent - then we could take off the rainfly and get even more ventilation. We haven't been camping since June because it is only getting down to 75 at night and we really like being able to sleep at night.
  19. What a great TR! Thanks for taking us along on your trip!!! I learned a lot about cruising (and other random subjects :rofl2: ) and had fun reading! It really came at a perfect time. We were on our way home from WDW and discussing how we would get back there next year. Then, we somehow found ourselves talking about doing a cruise. I told DH that I would get some info and let him know what I thought. Opened up my laptop somewhere in Georgia and BAM there is a TCD report from a cruise! I think it's a sign... Thanks again!!! :wave1:
  20. We made the 4 ½ hour trip to my sister-in-law’s house and unloaded to prepare for our weeklong family visit. They are a great group! They have four children and a huge house with a pool and more toys than you can imagine. Total vacation nirvana for a 4yo only child. The morning after our arrival, we snagged one of the kids and headed off to the zoo! Welcome to the St. Louis Zoo. I will preface this by saying that we have been to several good zoos. Columbus, Memphis, DC, Animal Kingdom (sort of a zoo) and the St. Louis Zoo was right up there as the best. It was clean and extremely well-manicu
  21. Thanks! No worries, Lou. I normally avoid the sad threads for very similar reasons. I did not even notice the Rays in front! Let me see if I have a different angle for you... Thanks, Dave. I'm glad you are here and enjoying it! That is cool that you've been there! I guess being so close, it is not surprising. If you ever go again, stay in a wigwam. They are way less scary on the inside than when you pull up and go "Well, alrighty then..." Thanks Rita. What is up with dry counties? Don't get me wrong, we encountered them in Arkansas a-plenty. But, I guess since I'm from there we knew where t
  22. Believe it or not, I'm all caught up! Okay, I did some skimming... gotta do whatcha gotta do. I have learned that there is a LOT to do on a cruise - had no idea you could play mini golf! I hope you made it up to play! I also think WSD looks like he's in his skivvies. Tighty whities. Underoos. That's just not right. :rofl2: Good job on the medals - hilarious how you guys ended up with so many! You could string them together and hang them from your awning.
  23. So, we make the hour or so drive up to Louisville. I have never been to Louisville, and the museum just seemed a natural part of Americana to add to my little Americana trip! Our drive in - and these pictures were shot from a moving car, so... yeah And here we are!!! We can't even get across the street from the parking garage without something like this popping up... Nothing to do with LSM, but another museum across the street. I thought this was funny Once inside... Now there is a museum that you can go to for free. Then, there is a factory tour that you can pay for. I honestly don
