  1. This was on our list for November but we never made it there. Have either of you tried any of the more "adventurous" stuff there? What did you think?
  2. Well since you brought it up... (no pun intended)
  3. Our dogs aren't quite so large - but 2 of them are very hairy and all of them are very sensitive to the heat. We always leave them in the TT with the a/c on, but taking them out for walks/runs at the dog park is a little tricky. We have to be super careful no one overheats - and being crazy border collies, they'll run until they drop! At the dog park we always splash out the watering stations so that fresh, cooler water fills them. We watch how much they're panting and stop the fun before it gets out of hand. If it's super hot we hose them off before we leave. And then they get the "cool do
  4. If anyone is curious what kind of fence is at the Fort dog park, you can see it in this pic...
  5. 335 from Nov 2010 The 9x12 pen is behind the TT and we just squeezed the Navigator and golf cart in front. And I mean squeezed! We lucked out and positioned our street side slide exactly between the "stump" and utility box - with about 1/4" to spare. If we couldn't have done that we'd have had to move way back onto the sand.
  6. Pick a holiday, any holiday! Here are some Christmas at the Fort photos from November. Pardon the quality - these are from my phone. I still have to organize the 1200 photos on my camera. If you don't like blowups... avert your eyes!
  7. Before I hog up the park photos thread with these, I figured a new thread for Disney fireworks would be fun...
  8. Awesome! Respect thrown your way! Thanks! I mostly got lucky. We were in the hub and I just stuck the camera on a railing, set it on "night" and kept clicking. Took probably 30 shots - this was definitely the best. This one wasn't bad either...
  9. Welcome Paula!! This board is evolving practically daily, so if you have any suggestions on making posting/reading easier - especially from a newbie perspective - feel free to let Jen and Chris (our esteemed moderators) know.
  10. ADORABLE (love the ears!) These days most "experts" will tell you that the lifelong benefits of socializing your pup with people and other animals FAR outweighs the relatively low risk of disease. Further, you actually have a pretty small window of true "socialization" for young dogs (6 mos?) - outside of that window you're now playing catchup and doing more "desensitization" than anything. Which is a heck of a lot harder (oh boy do I know that one first hand!) All interactions at this age are critical for your pup - and there are fear periods that they'll go through when this is even more i
  11. no  Seriously though - it was pretty cool and a perfect day to go up. You could see for miles. I kept our receipt (can you say packrat?) and we were hoping to go back at night this year and time it for fireworks, but we never got around to it. Maybe this year. :D
  12. I thought that might help lure him out of hiding.
  13. Agreed! We shopped for the new TT with this very thing in mind. So when we got our Open Range Roamer, very first thing we did was rip out the extra couch and bunk and install 3 big crates for the kiddos. Then DH set about building a bar for the top of it... They each have their cushy bed, water bowl and a couple of favorite toys in them, and this is their hangout when we're away from the TT. There are fans installed above the crates (raised part of the bar that flips open) for when we need a little extra circulation. Because this slideout was intended as a bunk, there's a TV hookup right ne
  14. This one is my desktop - and probably my favorite (and luckiest) fireworks photo...
  15. No Fort photo thread would be complete without this little beauty...
  16. This was on the 300 loop in November. These folks had at least 2 sites - one which had no TT on it, just a string of tables, coolers, chairs and popups. The festivities overflowed out onto the 300 dog walk... Check out the right edge of the pic - you can see some of the coolers/pots. There had to have been at least 15 coolers stacked up - of varying sizes. Amazingly, one morning it all just VANISHED! Even more amazingly, aside from a few stray kids playing in the street, these folks were quiet and respectful of their neighbors. They clearly had a heck of a gathering, but we never heard a
  17. Prove how good (or bad) you are at Toy Story Mania... I'm on the left, DH on the right. My arm is STILL tired! :D
  18. Personally I'm a fan of the pineapple floats at Aloha Isle in MK. We spent 3 weeks at WDW in November. This is #6... For your Dole Whip purists out there, this was my self serve at Capt. Cook's at the Poly. I was pretty proud of this one, but it could have been a little higher...
