Thanks for sharing your trip. Looks like it was a wonderful time. Thanks to you guys all going on this first trip of the year--we started re-loading the camper to get it ready for the season. We still have a few piles of snow here and just can't think about heading out yet. Unless we would go south--really far south. lol
great pics-sorry to hear your son got sick. But, at least at was at the end and not beginning of the gg. Hope it didn't last long..

:rofl2:

that stinks... it is just a jump across the puddle and yet still 6.5 hours from us. <<sigh>> and no i won't take the ferry.
-
glad the weather cooperated with you guys. a little too chilly for me, yet.. can't wait to see more pics!

happy birthday!

Tell her not to be afraid to drive it. I drove ours all the time. You just have to be the best co-pilot ever! Let her know when to change lanes, etc.. We had a 20' trailer we pulled with our car and gc on it and I didn't have any issues driving it. It isn't that bad. 29' or 33' isn't going to make a difference. Although, we did do some upgrades to our suspension which helped a lot in the handling.

love that rock bridge... great pics!

we had a jayco seneca-super c. loved it. sold it for a great price so we had to move on. then we kinda regretted selling it. but, it was a great rig. grumpy and grandma still have theirs and feel the same way we do about it. it is a great rv, not bad priced and we didn't have any real problems.

we're more than likely skipping this year. want to head elsewhere.. we will miss everyone and are so looking forward to all the pics and tr's...

there's an orange stand that sells them. bob might know where it is because denise had us go there one time. but, why do you want boiled peanuts? they are soooo gross! it's like eating a baked bean in a really soft shell.... yuk!

gotta wish my my most favorite sista a big ole happy birthday! hope you have a great day and don't have to go in to work tonight!

we don't have the lance but the host truck camper has three slides. it's a monster and definitely needs to be on a dually. i don't have any pics handy..

alright, maybe not quite yet for some of us. lol here are a few pics from a campground in Plumtree, NC. Toe River Lodge is definitely in the mountains and ran by an awesome family. http://www.vancetoeriverlodge.com/
They rent cabins and yes even YURTs. They have a work camp program which is really cool. We were there I believe in 2004. Looking at their website now-things have changed.
Go to their site and check out their work camp programs. It was really neat to stay there. But, if I recall correctly the road in the campground is pretty steep..
Here's a few pics..
our site...
and what do you think this picture is...
yes, it's bees.. i can't remember if it was honey that they raised the bees for or what but it was kinda neat to see.
they also grow christmas trees. again, i can't remember which type it was. but, i know it can only be grown in certain areas-like where they are located.
here is one of the yurts that they rent out..
they had horseback riding at the time we were there.. a view from the sites above..
a view of the mountains and their trout pond. they raised trout and feed them at a certain. that was really neat to watch.
a few pics of our site from different angles.
again this was in 2004? and now i really think i want to go back for a couple nights.. check them out if your looking for a campground that is peaceful and relaxing in the mountains..

i don't know if this was brought up--but, a class C is less expensive to insure than a class A. When we had our seneca (super c) the insurance co would send our renewal as an A and we would have to call and let them know that it was a C. It was less to insure. not sure if it is true all the way around but, you may want to check with your insurance.

Our state parks have been on line for a long time. but, most of our parks (-again 1/2 the sites might be reservable and 1/3 of those might have electric) are full at exactly 1 yr out. residents can reserve either 12 or 13 months ahead of time and it opens to illinois residents-i mean the rest of the world at like 11 months out. so, you have to plan that far out or take a chance. we've stopped going. sad, because like most state parks they are very pretty and peaceful..

yes, you can have generators there. and many people do use them. but i think it's only during the day??? we stayed there in 2008 and it was really nice. thanks for the pics.
A great time with Fiends in Gettysburg
