So maybe I'm out of the loop but are there plans to shut down the Epcot line permanently or is it for refurb or not at all.

Ok I read the original whatever you want to call it on http://screamscape.com/html/walt_disney_world_resort.htm#EpcotResort  all it says about the Epcot line closing is "but the one item that I'm told has become 100% necessary is the eventual closure of the Epcot Monorail line." Nothing about by who or when this was said.

oh well wait and see like the rest of the rumors.

  2. When we had our boat business we shopped at Sam's at least once a week, have had memberships off and on since then but not in a few years. Buying in bulk for 2 people just didn't work for us. I feel horrible for the employees, but as we've recently learned first hand most big corporations no matter what they say really care about their employees when it comes down to it.

Haven't heard anything about or Sam's closing, but it is directly across the street from a Walmart and about 8 miles from a BJs and about 12 miles from another Sam's so it wouldn't surprise me if they closed it.

  3. 3 day minimum, so 150.00 per person plus tax for 9 extra fastpasses. Ouch! I wonder how long it will be before this goes resort wide.

Like I said in the other thread, I'll stick to my 3 a day. Not that I'll probably ever stay in club level anyway.

I could see this being worth it for some families that may only get a couple of park days and have never been before and want to try to do as much as possible. But I would think this only being available to the higher priced rooms cuts a lot of those same families out at this point.

  4. My sister buys a lot of glasses from there, as in different glasses for different outfits or moods. Some of them have held up good and some haven't, but she can sometimes be hard on things like falling asleep with them on and losing them in bed. She's been happy with them mostly and I think the ones she was less happy with were very cheap ones that she bought more  just for fun and ended up not liking the style. So far has never complained about her prescription being wrong.

  5. Reading through on my phone and looked down and saw the first picture before reading the beginning on this and having completely forgotten about the paint by number they had my first thought was.     What kind of Jello shots game did the Wild Womenz come up with!

I am still loving the responses!! It is very encouraging to know that people are actually reading my jumbled thoughts. :-D

So, we had gotten to Epcot. This was during the International Arts Festival. What does one do at an International Arts Festival? One paints by number.

There were also food booths. I don’t remember what this was or where I got it, but I remember that it was yummy.

Some of us decided to ride Frozen Ever After. I believe Sarah was selected to carry the coveted Red Card.

Still haven't been on the Frozen ride, it's on the list to do sometime this year along with Pandora.

  6. We did one Christmas at the Fort, unfortunately it's to far for my grandfather to drive and he won't come stay in the trailer with us anymore, so Christmas is at home again. Hopefully will get there the beginning of December this year and it's probably wishful thinking but maybe Halloween.

  7. I like fastpasses, but I wouldn't pay anymore to have extra. I guess the difference is we can go more often and have seen and done everything we want to. Most of the time I make our 3 fastpasses and that's all we'll do that day or may hit standby lines if they aren't long.

I do wish you could make fastpasses ahead of time for different parks on the same day. For example 2 at MK, 1 at HS.

  8. I'm not sure what the point of this is.

I love my cellphone, I carry it with me most of the time, when I'm bored I play games, look things up, read Fort Fiends, makes it much easier to keep in touch with people. But my world wouldn't come crashing down without it. I'd much rather have a MB, key card, or even an old school key to my hotel room then depending on my phone to open it.  For one we all know how much of a battery drain MDE is plus taking pictures or what not on my phone's there's been times I've left the parks with my battery drained. Don't want to be locked out of my room because my phone's dead.

People depend to much on technology anymore, today at the grocery store the guy in front of me was freaking out because his Apple pay wouldn't work and he had no other way of paying. I personally like to carry at least a little cash on me and even at Disney with my CC linked to my MB I carry my wallet with my hard pass, and CC just in case.  It's like having a valid passport, you might not use it but you never know when you may need to leave the country in a hurry.........

  9. I have seen people stop at the 4 way stop to unload it turns it into a real mess. I agree that using the 100 loop would be very inconsiderate to those staying in the loop. If it was a quick open the door everyone has everything and nothing to unload, jump out and drive off on a rare occasion ok. But what I've seen happen is pull up, put the vehicle in park, driver gets out, unloads strollers, bags , family, oops forgot something in the back, need to check bags to make sure they have everything. Unfold strollers pack thing in them. More or less a 3 ring circus in the middle of the road. If that was taking place blocking the 100 loop from people who might be trying to get back to their site or leave to go somewhere that would be inconsiderate same as it happening anywhere blocking traffic.

Right now I am doing really well except I am freezing my flat butt off.  I am very happy that super geek gave my last Christmas this very cool heated blanket for the Jeep.  Now that I have an hour commute to work, it really came in handy this morning!  I didn’t really need it last winter.  I do now!

I still cannot do sit ups and crunches for karate, but I am back up to 100 jumping jacks four days a week and I passed my advanced green belt test right before Christmas for Tang So Doo.  I broke two boards together with my hand and one with my foot.

I plan to go to Disney for MLK weekend so hopefully I can keep that going and not have to reschedule like I did NYE.  That one I had to chalk up to my storage place for my pop up.  Ugh

I am tired of being sick, so 2018 for me is a plan to be void of sickness!

Sorry to hear you haven't been well and have had a rough year, glad to hear you are doing better.

2017 seems to have been a rough and or busy year for a lot of people, here's hoping 2018 is much better and we can all get back to doing what we enjoy.

I'm not sure if it's the new year or this thread but definitely seems something has gotten people posting more, me included.

I am surprised about Enterprise,  I had always been told they would not allow towing

When I googled truck rentals for towing this article came up. http://m.autorentalnews.com/news/261623/enterprise-to-rent-pickup-trucks-for-personal-use

Looks like the rentals for personal towing are a fairly new thing and handled through the truck division and maybe not the everyday rental agency. When I searched the prices it was through the Enterprise truck rental website. www.enterprisetrucks.com/truckrental/en_US.html

  12. This got me curious so I looked it up, looks like Enterprise trucks rent trucks for towing. Looks like it starts around 300.00 a week for a 1/2 ton  500 miles free and .20 each additional mile, with a possible extra charge for towing. Up to starting at 600.00 for a 1 ton and .15 each mile with possible extra charges for towing. This was just a general search in my area with random dates. So it could be done but could be pricey.

I think uhaul does it to but not sure.

  13. I'd probably do the same as Ray. It would all depend on the situation, my RV insurance has trip interruption coverage as well as towing. My first step would be to see how bad the truck was and how long or if it could be fixed, then decide from there. Either try to find another tow vehicle or figure something else out and try to make the best out of the trip and stressful situation no matter what ultimately ended up happening.

  14. Last time we were at Epcot while waiting for the fireworks we got to talking to a gentleman next to us and his wife. He had multiple health issues and got to telling us about his service dog, which he doesn't bring to the parks. Said it was just to much and even though the dog could ride on the scooter that it's not how the dog was trained and with his wife there to monitor him he can get along without the dog. (I can't remember what the dog was used for but some kind of warning maybe seizures or something). He then went on a big rant about the amount of "service dogs" he'd seen that day and how unwell behaved most had been.

The same day we did see a gentleman with a larger dog that parked next to us. While getting out we said hello and I would say from the training the dog had it was a true service dog.
