  1. So glad you had a great time at the party.  Sounds like the prefect blend of low crowds and a great atmosphere.  We went the first week of November last year (maybe the second or third night they offered the party?) and for us, it was a very bad choice.  Apparently the bloggers and such had stormed the park for merchandise... or something to that effect I was told.  So, it was horrible.  However, we've been there before when our experience was like your (as it should be for every guest who pays extra to attend the parties) and it was magical.

Sorry the night's sleep was so rough.  Not getting out of bed to get a sweatshirt... LOL, I would have done that too.  I would have been afraid that getting up would have made me even colder and I do not like the cold or being cold

I'm curious...do you have to make a hard 90 turn with your rig anywhere repeatedly?

No, that’s the crazy thing.  Nor do I overload my rig, I’m the driver that slows you down because I’m cautious and don’t fly over train tracks or pot holes and I’m always careful about not hitting curbs.  That’s what has us shaking our heads.  Now (with this rig), we did not buy it new and the welder did say that the shackle showed signs of extended stress (whatever that means)...so either a junk piece of metal or the original owner may (?) have been rough in it.  Just don’t know.  All we know, is we appear to have bad luck with these things.

WOW!!!!!!!!!! Now I will have to show your post to the wife to prove that someone does actually listen and learn when I say something :ROFLMAO-1:

Well, there’s always that one time, when our husband’s will be right so...careful when you play your card 😉

Glad to hear your all mended, also good to hear your habit of checking things when stopped, that's a good practice to keep in place, you can never check to much in my opinion. Also great to hear that you keep a positive attitude when things go wrong, hope you continue with safe travels.

Thanks.  Actually...I think you were the one who initially brought up checking tire temps at stops.  That’s what actually got me checking the leaf spring shackles.  Purchased a tpms a couple of years back, so I no longer feel the tires every stop, but ever since the first weld broke, I’ve made a point of looking under and checking....so, thank you for getting me started ☺️

Glad you got it fixed.  Lippert pretty much .has a monopoly since they bought Dexter's frame shop back in 2012.

Yes, and because they hold the market, they are slow to improve.  Frustrating and dangerous.

Hope you weren't too far from home.  upset%20mickey.gif

We were 3 hours into a 3 hour road trip.  Found a hardworking mobile welder and we’re bsck on the road...after a 4.5 hour delay.  Praising God though, as it could have been worse (no real damage) and had we not decided to go a day early, this would have happened on Thanksgiving and then...who knows how long a repair would have taken.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope y'all made it to someplace safe.

We had pulled over for fuel, and because this has already happened to me once, I’m now inthe habit of looking underneath and checking at stops.  So, we were at a gas station when we found the broken weld and (thankfully) not on the side of a busy or deserted road.

Oh No!  I hope you get help fast.

It wasn’t too horrible, all things considered.  Total delay was about 4.5 hours.

That is terrible. What type of rig now? Hope your not in too bad of a spot.

Grand Design...but same manufacturer with the frame/welds as the Keystone (Lippert).

That's horrible I am so sorry. But I have been on the side of the road my fair share with rv tire blow outs. So I can feel your pain.

Thank you.  Could have been sooo much worse, but it surely was NO fun.

Hope all goes well and a quick repair

Thank you.  It wasn’t too terrible and we made it into our campsite, late last night.

Not a good thing for this company.  Wonder how many other people have this experience with these rigs?

Hope you are no longer on the side of the road and somewhere safe.

Lippert has had many, many complaints which is so frustrating, as it’s dangerous.

e Barnstormer once when my son was little let's go check it out. There was no line in fact there was a empty seat on our train and we each rode alone.  It's a fun little ride but I wouldn't wait in line for it. Next is a ride first for my husband and one I have not done again since my son was little Dumbo. We walked right thru and got on the next ride. OMG I could not believe the wait times.

    Will are good fortune last?

Oh... I hope so!  That's how the parties are supposed to be! ❤️

We were in the North lot this year. We had booked a general RV site but they called us a few months before and told us they were "testing" a new VIP area and would upgrade us for free if we wanted. It was super close and you could walk right onto the field. We were maybe 100 foot from the gates. One day the winds were off and they were actually landing balloons next to our RV in the campground. We asked what they would be charging for it next year when it went mainstream and they said $100, so they knew then what it would be. Does not make it any better for you, but it does sound like someone put the wrong price in the system.

    Probably so.

Today was the day I was most looking forward to. We are going to Mickey's very merry Christmas party! We have never been to any after hours event and I could not wait!

We got up showered, dressed and made breakfast. Today the sun was shinning and it was a beautiful day the high was going to be 84. Remember we are leaving this site?  We packed the tent back up and went over to the 1500 loop to check things out. When we checked in the CM gave us the choice of 1505 or 1506 we told her to pick for us. There was about 5 empty sites including the two choices we had been given. We then drove over to the Outpost. We headed in to see if are site was ready. . We got in line and waited about 5 min. A CM came over on a I Pad to help us. While we explained what was going on the super friendly CM that checked us in came out. She filled the CM in on what was going on. The new CM went into the back came out a few min later and told us it would not be long. And are site was 1505. We would get a text when ready.  It was now about 11:20. Off we went to Kroger to get something for dinner and a few other things. When we arrived back we still had no text. We decided to drive over to the site and see for ourselves. The site looked fine to us. We have a plug in cooler that we use has a fridge we took that out in plugged it in. Put the groceries away and I called the front desk. We still did not have a text on are site. While I was on hold a worker that clean the sites came over. I told her the site was fine to us and she didn't need to clean it up. Just then a CM came on the phone. I explained what just happened and she said ok if your fine with the site not being clean. While I was on the phone my husband had started to put up the tent. After this was done I had called home to my son and my dad to rub it in that I was sitting in Disney while they had to shovel . We had a cold drink and relaxed for a bit.

UP next how was the party? Would we like it? Would it be crowded? Does the weather hold up?

Oh... I hope you loved the Christmas party!  It is my absolute favorite!  Unfortunately for us, they oversold terribly last year and it was butt-to-butt people.  Not good.  But the decorations and parade are my favorite ❤️   Glad you got a spot over in 1500; that's such a sweet site.

It's a shame with all the $$ that is charged for going to the Fort that they don't have better information available at check in about the sites.  When we went last weekend the CM showed me the book with a hand drawn map of the 2000 loop.  No site information, no landmark references, etc.  There were a couple of drawing of the comfort stations but not the sidewalks leading to them between some of the sites.  Fort Fiends has better info then Disney has.

Yep.  Disney needs to make FF an offer for their information ;)  It really is a no-brainer... but then again, we are talking about the Fort, the black sheep of Disney.

Again, I'll say I wish the Fort would just go site specific.  They could utilize the FF site, which would allow folks to see and have specific information on the site before they book it.  I don't know.  I guess if they at least as the FF site, then they could help folks find a better spot at check in.  Oh well, at least we have it (which works great if the sites we offer up are open) ^_^

My daughter loved it so much. But it was hot the day we did it, and they go so slow, plus in the single file line you can't talk to anyone. So it wasn't my favorite thing, but I would do it again for her. But don't tell her I said that.

Yes.  Now that our girl has started riding, we've talked about another trail ride at Disney and she said, "no thank you...boring".  LOL

If this was posted before I missed it.

I was just informed that the OUTPOST is no longer assigning sites and that it is being done by the central reservation office the same as Resort Rooms.  As I understand it even the long term TA's who are at the FORT can no longer get specific sites for their clients.

    Anybody else heard anything?

I really wish the Fort would just go site specific or at least allow you to choose your loop.

  11. So sad to hear about the neighbors.  I always want people to have a good time, but the Fort is so expensive that when their "good time" dampers (or ruins) my good time... that's when it gets really tough.  Also sad to hear about the tetherball.  Not good.  Oh... and the dogs?  I don't know why it's so tough, for the Fort to enforce the rules.

Sounds like getting your camper was actually a lot of work!  Not sure whey that surprises me actually, finding a good one is a lot of work.  Glad you've got it now and you can enjoy it ^_^

It was kind of a quick trip.

We had gone back and forth with the owner who was out of town and arranged to have his dad there.

We left Tampa on a Thursday late afternoon and drove up to the Stone Mountain area and spent the night. Turns out where we stayed was only about 5 miles from the sellers house

The next morning we checked out the camper, went to the sellers bank, transferred the $$, went back hitched it up and headed back to Tampa.

Glad it went smoothly and you found what you were looking for ^_^
