Devils Tower on your way from Yellowstone to Mount Rushmore. Crazy Horse Memorial near Rushmore. Custer State Park near Rushmore.
Thank you! All are on our list :)

Okay... not a "report", yet. Still planning. We leave end May/beginning of June. If you have any must-see stops... in IL, MO, NE, SD or ND.. please let me know. I have an extra few days that I can work into that area of the country IF there is something worth seeing on my route. Leaving from GA, heading up to Banff (through Glacier), back down to WA, then the Oregon Coast. We'll hit Crater NP, Jackson Hole, the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone and Mount Rushmore on our way back... then down to OKC (kids LOVED the science museum last time, so we have to hit it again )...then back to GA.
Time goes by so fast...it will be here before we know it!!

We did't we stayed at a campground about 10 minutes away. When we made the decision to go, the fairgrounds were already full. Did you guys go to the Grand Design owner tent?We thought we saw you guys on Sunday at the Fort, we were riding the golf cart our of overflow while waiting on our site.
Ahhh... keep in mind, that if you want to dry camp, that never fills up as it's just in the standard parking lot. We really enjoyed being right there.
We walked through the GD area.. but don't remember an "owner's tent".
We were at the Fort on Sunday! Snagged a spot for 5 nights; it was so nice to be back. Crazy that we missed you at both places.

Nope, not allowed. The official rules state one trailer/MH unit and tents
Now... if only Disney would consistently enforce this rule 😐

We were at the show too. Fort this week.
Mercy!
Guess we should have done a GG at the show! LOL
Did you dry camp? We were in the lot, Thursday and Friday night. Had planned to stay Saturday night as well... but snagged a spot at the Fort.

We thought it was nice and they did a good job with it, but the old location was better. But at least they did make another play ground.
Agreed

We’re here today...our take is the area looks very nice, but the actual green space for kids to run around (to play tag, for example) has been cut in half, if not more. That’s the one thing we did not like. This smaller space also puts the swings dangerously close to the play equipment.

It does look the same (except for the swings). The old location no longer has any playground equipment there.
But it looks like they still will have swings...? If so, happy to see this ❤️

You're baby brother did great! What a great song and video!
Thank you!!

Okay Fiends... this has nothing do with with camping (except, it is set in the outdoors.. LOL), but my baby brother plays the guitar, did the male vocals and produced this video. I am so stinkin' proud of him!! We grew up on a small island in the Pacific NW and he is still in the Skagit Valley, so not a hotbed of band/video production activity, but goodness: I think they look amazing! He's been with this band, for several years now. BTW, I'm 48 and he's 38... so I guess "baby" brother is a relative term (or, at least, an affectionate one for our family... once the baby, always the baby ❤️).
Hope you enjoy this, as much as I did ❤️

Just returned home from the Fort. While visiting another resort, a DVC CM approached me about the new Rivera Resort. I quickly changed the subject to the Reflections project and inquired what could the CM tell me about that. Most of the stuff reported, I already knew from this site. But, the one thing said, that almost knocked me over, was that the Settlement Area was going to be enhanced to a shopping/market place type area. The proximity of Reflections to the Settlement makes this plausible to me. But, it is still hard to believe that Disney would do this. BTW, when I voiced my displeasure with the idea the CM walked off in a huff. Hopefully, this is a rumor that is false.
Oh yeah... I think most of us saw that coming. Unfortunately, the days of the Fort we loved, are gone.

Wow. So arrive a couple of hours before the park even opens and hope you get a place. Ugh.

I saw a post from someone that arrived today at 6:20 scanned into the park at 7:20 and got boarding group 59 which at the time they said should be around 4 to 5pm.
Your mileage may vary.
That would be yuck.. but not horrible, horrible.

Once called you have up to two hours to get to the ride. It willl vary some but I have heard reports of people arriving and being done with the ride in 30-45 minutes. The highly themed queue and ride take about 20 minutes.
Wow,..if that’s really how it works (or keeps working) I think that’s awesome!
-
5 minutes ago, Katman1356...Jason said:
Yes. No signing up ahead of time. Everyone must be in the park. It’s basically a form of virtual queue. Till the ride dies down some anyway.
Gotcha. Sorry if I missed this... but once your boarding group is called, how long do you wait to actually ride the ride?
-
4 hours ago, Katman1356...Jason said:
They are having people sign up for Boarding groups to ride the ride vs. long waits in line. You must be in a boarding group to ride the ride as of right now. I am sure that will change in the future. Your entire party must be inside the park and then you can use the app to join a boarding group. Then you can even park hop to another park or go back to the Fort while you wait if you wanted to. you ahve up to 2 hours after your group is notified in the app you can come ride. Boarding groups have been running out early. Before 9am and they have expanded the morning hours at DHS through January 2.
So, this is different than a FP?

I’m not a Star Wars person, and most of it would probably go over my head but it looks amazing.
That was me with Pandora at the AK. I don't think we even walked into that land, until a year or year 1/2 after it opened. LOL

Disney Offering Free 1-Day Park Hopper Tickets and Rise of the Resistance FastPasses to Guests Whose Boarding Groups Were Unable to be Accommodated
At least Disney did something. Tough if you flew into town for a short time, but it was nice that they tried to make it right.
2 hours ago, PGHFiend said:Ride looks amazing from here! Hope I can get on....glad to see they are using boarding groups instead of making a Hagrids type of line.
I'm particularly excited to "ride" this because its actually a ride! I'm not a fan of the virtual rides like FOP. I like to go somewhere on an attraction.
Great clear footage here:
So... first, some grown adults way too excited for a ride. LOL Second.... I'm not a huge SW person (but I did play "the song" in highschool band, so that still makes me smile), but I will say that Disney set the bar high with this one! The nicest part (I thought) was that it's not just a 2 minute ride. I would stand in line for this one. Not for multiple hours, LOL, but I would wait an hour which is saying a lot as I think we've only been willing to do that, once or twice over the past 10 years. Pretty sure it will be several years before the wait time is an hour though.

Thanks. I we're not making it through UT this trip, but I'll keep it in mind for the next time we're in that area!
Haha... Corn Palance, I think you recommended that one the last time we were in SD 😄 It does look, pretty "CORNY" 😄 Thank you!
