That's how I felt about our spring break trip it was packed at the parks so bad that I said I would not do spring break again. But June and September were nice just to hot.
It is packed this week, but the weather is perfect. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times to visit. We are not killing ourselves in the parks...just hitting our FP's plus a few other things. We are just visiting the parks a few hours each time. Today we rope dropped MK for 2 hours then went back in the evening. It is crazy busy, but honestly I've seen worse here.
Our issue now with the kids is we can only come when the kids are out of school. That puts us here the most busy times or we don't come.

I can't see them closing the whole beach. I would mix up some drinks, grab some chairs, and head to the beach on the golf cart.
-
I should have giddyupped today for lunch. We finished setting up the camper and headed to the pool snack bar. 2 personal pizzas, 1 wilderness dog, a wrap, and a pb&j.....$43.
-
On our last trip we tried the Polite Pig. I had low expectations but it was really good. I do like Delux burger too. DS has too many places now. I want to try them all, but don't have time.

We are here and on 903. Perfect weather today!

The weather forecast for Thanksgiving week is looking great! Mid to upper 70's and 50's at night. That's my kind of camping weather.

These will be stolen so fast.

Sounds like my pre Fort spending. I put new tires and repacked my bearings on the camper....$800. Then I discovered my golf cart batteries were bad....$770. Then I decided to put the new batteries in my Yamaha cart which needs a backseat....$270. All before we leave for the Fort.
I hope everything goes well for y'all now

Glad you guys got it sorted out. I know how stressful it is to have trouble on a drive down and have a trip cancelled.

Citrus swirl ftw

Yeah thanksgiving day is out for us. We will be at the in-laws in winter garden. I'm game for any other time.

Roll call....who will be there thanksgiving week? Any interest in a potluck? We can host.

I agree with DIT's map. I have wondered about this since the plans were first leaked years ago. I think they're going to use the current WL entrance and the existing road that DIT marked in Yellow. They have a similar situation at Animal Kingdom Lodge, where they use one guard shack for both the original lodge and the newer DVC. That set up would also allow them to combine bus routes, which they will want to do to save costs.
TCD
I agree. The purple route would cost way more especially if wetlands are in there. They could branch off and make a separate road near the north end of the former STOL port that would tie into the existing route marked in yellow.

Ya'll like that route vs Western Way? The last time I tried the Vineland route it was in 2011 and I remember construction and red lights, Western Way was pretty relaxing in 2015 but it felt like I was on 429 a long time.
Do you turn on Reams Rd? Sorry I know this has been talked about a lot, just curious again.
WBI
Yeah, 1 less toll booth, and I think it is quicker too. We don't use Ficquette or Reams. That would only be if you wanted to come by the Contemporary and under the water bridge. Just stay on Winter Garden Vineland and enter Disney property by the construction services buildings. It is a nice 4 lane road...no construction that I know about.

It always was a pain to stop at the toll booths.
I mean, your almost in view of The Fort and they made you stop and explain yourself.
Last year when we came from Gainesville, my map app. brought us in Vista Blvd. It was interesting seeing all the Disney warehousing and support facilities.
We take 429 to winter garden Vineland rd every time.

I couldn't find a nice 450, bit the 350 should do just fine. Can't wait to try it out
350 or 450....both trucks are highly capable and overkill for all but the biggest trailers. Congrats on the new truck. The hardest part is not telling everyone you meet how well it pulls.

Ok, I've changed my mind on the name....it won't be Cypress Springs. It will be Disney's Spring Hill Suites.
Seriously, it looks like something Marriott would build in an office park off the beltway, in Anytown USA. I really had thought they'd build the design that was leaked several years ago, which excited me. Tearing down the horse barn and paving over the TCD Ranch for this is sad.
I agree. This design appears to suck. The original design was awesome.

Brady,
You sure know your way around an egg. Those vittles you cooked up in Defeated Creek were on point.

We'll see you there. We check in on the 17th.

Saw it on FB yesterday. They said it was a rental. I'm curious if gas or electric.
-
BTW, I like the name Discovery Lodge. It is a nod to the adjacent island. But I think they can do better, and the other names mentioned are just downright horrible.
-
I'm going to try real hard not to buy into this DVC.

I have seen this type of thing happen first hand. This is why you never let someone ride in the trailer. Also this a good argument for always having too much truck.

The economy is strong. I know a lot of small business owners that are doing really well. A lot of people have disposable income. It's a big change from 9 years ago.
