Please up date on Wireless and Cable at Fort

Recommended Posts

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!

I haven't been around for a while, so apologies first for that.

We are preparing for our annual Dec trip to the fort. Has anything improved pertaining to wireless intenet signals in the loops or is it best to get the modem.

And

How is the digital and less then late model RVs. Is it still necessary to get the kit from the front desk.

Any updates would be appreciated.

We hope to roll in arount the 9th and be there till the beginning of Jan.

Hope to see some Fiends!!!

If you are in 100 and 1100 close to a cabin you should get a good wifi signal, There are also parts of 600 where you will pick-up the signal from the TP. We bring our own wifi router and plug it into their modem, works great. As to the cable of you don't have digital TV's all you wil get is about 6/7 channels without their converter box.

Wow, that's probably why we had such good luck with our wifi this September....we were in the 100 loop right next door to a cabin.  Bummer, I thought Disney had just made some improvements.   So... this year, we have three trips planned, and will probably be in the 1500 loop; sounds like we shouldn't count on getting wifi reception    Oh well... we're there to play and have some good family time anyway.... we can watch TV or look things up online, any old time  ::)

In the 700 loop our digital TV reception was bad.  Very bad.

One thing that has to be mentioned is "Digital" is very particular when it comes to connections as well as the type of cable being used. If you have a bad/loose connection, too long of a cable run or you are using RG59 and not RG6 cable you can have problems. If there is a slighlty loose connection anywhere in the loop ( in your RV or at the post) you could very well have problems.

Also some of the older digital TV's are set for, If I remember correctly, MP3 signal, DISNEY's system is MP4. In our MH the bedroom TV will get the picture on every channel but not the sound on all, the other 2 work perfectly.

My fiances parents are in loop 1700 site 1728. They said they are having issues with the tv saying that there is a picture for the higher channels but no sound. Any ideas how to fix this?

The simplest fix would be for them to go to the Meadow Trading Post and check out one of the cable boxes they provide. Hook that up to the TV, and everything ought to work fine. There is no charge for using the box, as long as it is returned.
