And a 6-year-old daughter who will pitch a fit if she can't play with the boys. We'll probably be somewhere in the 300 loop.Awesome. We'll look you up. We'll be in a premium pet loop. Goober's Wife 1
Yes the drive out of the park was bad but I meant just trying to walk out of the MK to get to any transportation mode, once you got out the gate the crowds would criss cross each other to get to what they wanted to ride on. If they could have divided the monorail and the bus lines early to at least try to divide the people heading to each. Yes I know that I am asking a lot here, I mean to have people READ and FOLLOW simple directions is to much to ask so I guess I will just have to grin and bear it and still enjoy our New Years Eve in the MK!!!! WOW that almost sounds like a TROLL RANTTM Yeah that's what I was referring to when I said getting out of the MK after close on a crowded night. Getting back across the lagoon is a huge bottleneck, whether you're taking a bus or the monorail back to the parking lot. And people are running in all directions, yes. :)
Goober's Wife 1
If I ever went to Epcot for NYE, which I will never do, I would not park in the main parking lot at Epcot. I park in the BW overflow lot and enter through the International Gateway. The walk to your car afterwards is shorter, and no tram. Then you're outta there with no hassle. When we do it on the 4th or NYE (done Epcot on both those super crowded days), we go very early, well before rope drop. We are always able to get parking in the rows right behind the handicapped section of the lot, so it's just a quick walk to the main gate, no tram required. :)

I've never done one, and probably never will. The earliest I've been to a park is for 9am, and that's only because I was getting someone in, but I leave afterwards. Just to clarify my post a little bit."If I ever went to Epcot for NYE, after 6pm, which I will never do, I would not park in the main parking lot at Epcot. 3Sealeys 1
Thats a really good idea to watch the fireworks from the boat landing area at the MK. We usually watch from the beach and it leaves a little to be desired. On a side note. The NYE fireworks didn't seem to be much more than the regular everyday fireworks. But I could be way off on that. It has been a while sense we have been able to get there around that time if the year.

thegooftroopfla 18
Also I agree with tcd. A couple years ago we wanted to do both New Year's Eve shows. Disney and Epcot. We did mk on the 30th and they had magic hours after the firework show. The fireworks were awesome and crowds were light. The next day, New Years, we hung around campground snuck a nap in and went to Epcot around 830 or 9 . We got lucky and got in. We had never been there on New Years and it was packed. We immediately decided to not try and push anything and just has fun. We found a booth over by canada serving drinks and got on a small hill across from the lake. It wasn't a lot of people pushing and shoving. Saw fireworks fine. Afterwords I think Epcot has magic hours. The only reason I think they did was because our plan was to go to the English pub after the fireworks, which we did, until the crowd died down . We stayed there till it closed and we walked right onto a bus after this. I think some luck was involved but we had a blast. My wife still thinks it's our most memorable New Years
Blonde Bunny 3
Since we probably won't do a park on NYE, we are thinking it might be worth it to make an 11pm reservation at the California Grill on NYE. Has anyone else done fireworks from the Grill? How are the park crowds on NY Day? As bad as NYE?

We did the 4th of July once and planned it for the fireworks, they dimmed the lights and piped the music in. You can also go outside also to a viewing area and I think the music is there also, it was very nice.
Katman1356...Jason 1,140
Cali grill is usually a New Year's Eve party. An expensive one.
Lou... 3,118
make an 11pm reservation at the California Grill on NYE. Good luck with that. How are the park crowds on NY Day? As bad as NYE? The parks will be a 10+ on the crowd level meter on NY's eve, and will be at least a 9 on NY's day. Not enough to make a difference.

DaveInTN 3,247
If anyone is looking for an option to the $575 California Grill NYE party and will be in the middle Tennessee area that night, I am throwing a DaveInTN NYE extravaganza for only $350/person. Unlimited beer, chili and fried twinkies. Oh, and guaranteed fireworks. Well, I guarantee we will have fireworks. I just can't guarantee they will be at midnight. It kinda depends on what time we eat the chili and twinkies. BradyBzLyn...Mo
