They have 2 jobs and juggle the schedules to make it work. In MK DPI alone, we have 22 photographers that work at one of the other major theme parks. We have a dolphin trainer at sea world, a couple of folks who work at Harry Potter in Universal, one who is also a photographer at Discovery Cove, and a few who work at Busch Gardens. If that is the case, this addition is a HUGE increase in their overall work force. The Orlando Sentinel, in the article about the event where the announcement was made, quotes 17,300.At that event held at US, the 3500 number was announced by the Florida Governor, Universal resort officials, and other politicians, where they were promoting Florida tourism in general, and you know how that goes.Universal also said, that the 3500 new hires includes 600 for the new hotel, and an unspecified number for the City Walk expansion, will be made up of full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees. The hiring will occur throughout the year.The governor, which BTW is running for re-election, also said that he wants to increase government spending devoted to tourism which includes, and has included a Florida state and Universal partnership.
