AC in A2......Aaron 693 Posted August 16, 2012 Report Share Posted August 16, 2012 Kelly,My Kelly and I have used Kids Night Out on two occasions....once at BLT and once at the Fort cabins. The sitter's come prepared with games and activities to play with the kids. The sitters are all certified in CPR/First Aid, and have been through the Disney training sessions. They were very professional and the kids have talked about what a great time they had both times.They will stay in the room if you want and follow your directions per food, bedtime, etc to the "T".You can also make requests like experience, age, and gender of your sitter.They where a fiend-like purple shirt so they are easily identifed when they arrive.They also will keep your kids away from things like pools, hot tubs, balconies, etc.We will likely use them again during our trip in February. It is expensive so we only use them for one date night per trip, so we can walk the world showcase, have dinner/drinks etc and enjoy each other's company.I would definitely recommend Kids Night Out as we have nothing but good things to say about them to this point.Maybe someone else who has used them more often will chime in too.The two times I used them were Feb 2010 and Feb 2011.If you think of any other questions, feel free to ask! AC in A2......Aaron 693 Posted August 16, 2012 Report Share Posted August 16, 2012 I believe they will either hang out at your site with him or walk around different places at the resort, but they will not go to the pools.....We had them at about 4pm until about midnight as it was EMH at Epcot both times.So we had the kids eating dinner when the sitter arrived and she only really had to entertain them until a bit before 8 and then they went to bed.....they stayed in the room the whole time at BLT and the cabins and they seemed like they had fun and did not get bored. It looked amazing, and I would think any kid would have a blast - one of those places I could never get mine to leave. LOTS of things for them to do.I'm sure the ones at the other resorts are similar. If there is one thing Disney knows, it's what kids want. I guess it would depend on where you plan to go for your night out.Maybe, since you'll be there during a busy week, there will be another FF family there and y'all could swap parent's night out babysitting services?FP4 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

The one that always stands out as the best is the Neverland Club at the Poly. The program is excellent and the setting/props really gave it the feel of a night club for our kids. I know it takes more effort to drop off & pick up but that makes it feel even more special to the kids b/c they're going to have a special night out too.When she was younger, Starla & her BFF loved it so much that a couple of trips we adults had to literally find something to do b/c the kids begged to go to the Neverland Club. Back then, in addition to dinner, they had a character visit plus a CM from Discovery Island bring a few animals over for extra special interactions. Of course, that was a long time ago. When DD11 visited, there was still a character visit & dinner provided but, other than that, they mostly played games & watched movies. Despite the changes, DD11 loved it there too. I know he would have a blast. Plus, if we go to Narcoossee's, we're just a monorail ride away. Maybe we could do drinks or something at the Poly too. Ahhhh.... too bad it's almost 8 months away! Slightly earlier dinner at Narcoosees, back to the Poly to grab a drink at the Tamu Tamu lounge (I recommend anything they serve in a pineapple!), downstairs to grab a dole whip and 2 spoons, then out to the beach for Wishes! Their services do more for the mental health of parents than anything out there short of alcohol. Lou... 3,118 Posted August 18, 2012 Report Share Posted August 18, 2012 Just a point to make regarding Kids Night Out.During my stints at various WDW resorts, I dealt with their sitters and agree with everything Aaron wrote and while they are the preferred child care provider at WDW, they are an independent company and are not a Disney company.Based on their reputation, that shouldn't impact someones decision to use them.
