  1. Our first camper was a 1998 Coachman and we were very happy with the quality. Unfortunately we upgraded to a used 34' 2004 Keystone Laredo and have had all kinds of issues with that beast!..I would definitely buy another Coachman again given the chance...In fact when we bought ours they were the "sponsor camper" or something like that for Fort Wilderness and we received 2 free weeks of camping at the Fort...For several years They had a display trailer right across from Pioneer Hall and I believe the deck for the camper is still there...
  2. Welcome...We've always enjoyed the 700 loop...easy walking distance from Trails End, and boats...
  3. We have stayed at several Walmarts and have had no problems either...They can be a bit noisy as others have mentioned but have had no safety issues...
  4. Congratulations on the milestone....We wish her MANY more HEALTHY years !!!
  5. Cool, Thanks...except now I have to wait 11 months to try em' out !!
  6. I also have great memories of my family and I riding in the front with the driver. The view going around spaceship earth was the BEST! It usually meant having to wait a monorail or two to get up front but it was worth it...
  7. Those monorails have moved millions of people...I give the maintenance staff credit for keeping them together as long as they have...They DO need replacement...Heck put them on Ebay and they could probably pay for a new fleet with the proceeds!
  8. It was very fun especially when the kids were smaller...My daughter collects Chip & Dale and my son would collect transportation and Star Wars...Some days we would just walk through the parks in search of employees with landyards...The pin trading stations gave them an opportunity to add a few nice pieces to their collections...A couple of years ago they removed the tables at Downtown Disney..In April they had removed half the tables in EPCOT so the writing was on the wall...
  9. On our last visit this past December my family and I were very disappointed to see that the last of the pin trading tables had been removed from the EPCOT pin trading station. My kids have enjoyed pin trading for many years (I admit I enjoyed it too) and in the last couple had gotten to the ages where they would put out their bags for people to look through and hopefully make a few trades. Of course I'm sure there were issues and we ALWAYS supervised our kids while trading. We will still miss the fun and the chance to make new friends.
  10. We ended up backtracking as it was starting to get dark and I didn't want to be stuck in brambles AND not be able to see where I was!....Saves more exploring for next trip!
  11. The pics on that link are pretty cool...Guess thats the next "forgotten Disney" exploration next trip!
  12. Hey we were set up just a few sites down from yours at 722...Really liked your display looks like a lot of time was put into it and it showed!
  13. Surprisingly no snakes...We were keeping an eye out though..We also found concrete ends to a bridge located behind the dog park so we might take a canoe next time and go explore from that end...I spell it the Scottish way "Shaun"....but you can spell it whichever way u like!
  14. As you can see from the pics the brush is very thick and we had to crouch and crawl to get through...There are quite a few trees that have grown up through the tracks in the 30+ years its been idle...This one tree MIGHT just replace the lawnmower tree as its slowly envelopes the track...way cool...This would be an awesome "forgotten Disney" tour if ever cleared but right now if you have the gumption its yours for the exploring! We had a great time!
  15. My son and I walked about 1/2 mile of the old Fort Wilderness Railroad today. As soon as you walk into the woods from the road near the 1500 loop (Left side of the bridge) you hit the old steel rails...Still in place frozen in time...They are very difficult to follow as they are covered with thick brush...We came out covered in brambles but we had a great time exploring and even found a few lose spikes alongside the track...Pictures are now posted further down...Enjoy!
  16. If I put the canopy up against the trailer and don't extend the awning I might be OK but its going to be tight...
  17. Heading out tonight for the trek down to the Fort in the Ol' Family Truckster and I had a question...Though I know its a "shot in the dark" to get a requested site when its sold out I am looking for a premium (pet loop) site wide enough to be able to put a 10'X20' dining canopy up alongside the trailer...My wife wants to set this up to allow us to put the tree out and stay dry as they are predicting thunder storms for a couple of days...We are fans of the 700 loop but any other suggestions?...Thanks!
  18. I will go by with my kids when we set up on Sunday...Thanks for the info and for giving them a heads up...
  19. Hey I'll chip in a few pins if someone gets the family info...Be there Sunday
  20. She does paper and I'm sure she'll have all her supplies down there next week...
