  2. Claudine's G'parents and Aunt used to live in Baltimore, or as the locals say "Bal-mer"....  So it sounds like you don't have too bad of a trip, unless you have to go thru DC...

Anyway, when I sent my last response, I forgot to mention this place.  We have never stayed there, but have also heard really good things about this place.  Its new, and from what I hear, they are constantly adding things....  CreekFire Motor Ranch.

  3. Debbie,

We are in the Raleigh Durham area of NC, but my wife has relatives in Maryland, so we know how that drive is...

I have not stayed there, but about 15 miles south of the NC/VA line there is the  RV Resort at Carolina Crossroads.  I have passed several times on my way north.  It seems to be easy in and out to I-95.  I've read good things about it for a quick overnight stop.

When we go to the Fort from home, we like to break the trip into 2 days.  We always stop in Brunswick GA at Coastal GA RV Resort.  This one, I can personally vouch for.  All paved sites, with mostly pull throughs.  It too is right off the interstate and is easy in/out.  Its about 3.5 to 4 hours to the Fort from there.

I was able to visit the Fort yesterday and noticed that they posted this new sign by the marina:

I was going to report that they are now calling this area Clementine’s beach.

But then I noticed something else.

    They misspelled Clementine!

    WTF?

    TCD

Well, since they have tried to stop teaching cursive writing in school, why let a pesky thing like spelling get in the way as well?!

I was wondering how they were going to handle buffets like Trails End.  Looks like for the short term at least, they're just not.  I wonder if this will result in a major change to Trails End (and other buffets) in the long run?

Also wondering what/how Crockett's Tavern is going to work - seating with a limited menu? There's definitely plenty of room to spread out tables inside with the buffet not in operation.

Mo, it seems like I read somewhere else (because as you know, there is no shortage of information out there) that buffets will be staffed with Cast Members who will be serving the food sort of like "cafeteria style" for the time being at buffets...

  6. Just checked this morning for something to do, and it looks like the fleet is spread out all over the place...

The Wonder is still cooling her heels outside of San Diego

The Dream is at the dock in Port Canveral

The Fantasy is outside of Puerto Cortes, Honduras.  I think they dropped off some crew in Cozumel recently.

The Magic is moored in Ponta Delgada, Portugal.

From some of the stuff I've read, the Fantasy and Magic were on repatriation cruises to get their crew back to (or close to) their homes...

  7. I would be more inclined not to go just because it would be hot as crap rather than worrying about the virus...

I'm still trying to piece together a trip to the Fort in November...  I've got the front end and the back in taken care of.  Just need to take care of 3 days in the middle. I'm just about to turn this over to Jason and let him have it.

  8. Hey for us campers, its pretty easy...  Night before last, I loaded up the wife, daughter and her roommate into the motor home and drove the 15 miles from our house to Bonefish Grill to eat.

We had the parking lot to ourselves, where I found a place out of the way so as not to impede on the other takeout diners.  I dropped the levelers, extended the large slideout and one of the smaller ones, and we enjoyed a nice meal that was still warm when we got it.  It had begun to sprinkle rain and wind was starting to pick up, but we were high, dry, and filled when we left.
