  1. In 1980 the Admiral Joe Fowler was moved back stage to the Disney World drydock for routine maintenance, but never returned to the Magic Kingdom. While Disney never official said what happened to the ship, it is believed that the ships hull was cracked either while being lifted by a crane or because it was not placed properly within the dock when the water was removed. Some parts of the ship were reused. The ship's machinery was sent to Tokyo Disneyland and became part of its Mark Twain riverboat. And the ship's whistle is now part of the Magic Kingdom's #4 Train Engine, the Roy O. Disney.
  2. If you have not checked the tire pressure yet typically from dealers they run the tire pressure down a few PSI to provide a softer ride

  4. I did some research on that, they actual use a system called the Syncrolift https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxWs486is5g The dry dock is located on the North East Corner of MK here is one of the ferry's in the dry dock location back there, Pic from this site http://www.wcdept478.com/AbouttheFB.htm when looking at google earth images, you can see the 4 lift motors( 2 are visable in the above pic, and then the track system to pull the ferry off the lift to a more serviceable area the ferrys are 190 tons, 34'10" wide and and 120' long with a draft of 5' 6" at the keel, this is only 2 feet
  5. I4 west to Hwy 27 south so 429, take it with me got it!
  6. the barge should move it somewhere, its just loading it up
  7. look at the shiny part of the tube, what appears to be painted, compare to the width of the pontoon boat. the boat is 8 feet wide at minimum, and that painted section to be at least 1.5 - 2x so if its 2x that means its going to be 16 feet above the water, where as 1.5 puts it at 12 feet do you think that would be enough to clear the parts?
  8. hmm little digging on Google earth shows this The span in the orange is 100 ft, the width of the canal is the red circle is 75 feet and the purple circle is where they are working, could they be making a bridge to connect the Grand floridan to MK via the walk way that already exists?
  9. I have seen those used, as a form for a structure/ dock/ mooring point they put them upright in the water, pound it down a few feet in the the ground, pump the water out and replace with concrete if its only temporary they just leave the water in and don't replace with concrete and do what they need to do till its removed. Its easier to do 1 large support and use 6-8 smaller ones in terms of time to install
  10. Getting excited, its my first trip to the Fort in my own Camper, it will be our first trip with the camper, unless i can get away between now and then. My kid gets out of school at 12 on Friday 12/11 and I plan to be ready to hit the road ASAP so we can get there by 3:30- 4 pm, I have driven the route many times its 153 miles door to door and i have done it 2:25 when not towing anything so I plan on more like a 3 hour plus ride as ill be going 10-15 MPG slower I have set the unit up a few times to do work and such, and it takes me about 20-30 min to get everything done. So fingers crossed we w
  11. Look it says shortcut see, D a n g e r, let's go

  12. I read somewhere its about 2-3% of the Fuel Consumption so for a 35 gallon tank it would use 1 gallon of DEF and from what I have been reading most trucks have a 5 gallon DEF tank. another thing i read was about 1 gallon per 200 miles driven, so you get 1,000/ tank but that seems low to me.
  13. I booked a while back, and I booked a premium by mistake I am there 2/5-2/7 in my popup I looked to downgrade to preferred but no dice

  16. Cant really help you on the highway stuff as i come from the south... as far as once your on property my GPS says to do world drive exit from I4 to vista Blvd but i know you can come in Epcot Center drive to bonnet creek parkway to vista blvd but that could make for a hard right turn at check in If your concerned about getting lost, just come down to irlo bronsen or I4, and then head back in, it may add a few min and miles but those are your options BTW your route vs Irlo would be 3 miles longer, and going down to I4 would make it 8 miles longer

  20. I hear all of you on the cost, In my situation it worked out pretty well this year, but I don't plan on buying passes each year. we did a ton of trips in 2014, 27 days in the parks that year so an AP made sense Due to the cost of the hotels and food, wife said no for 2015, and well in June I had saved up $6,000 to buy the pop up, as i wasn't spending it at Disney. I recently traveled for business, and because i was alone I opted to take Delta's deal and get bumped from my flight, they gave me $600 to get home 2 hours later than planned. That, with gift cards i won while on my business trip pa
