I think it will be if I ever get it. Was supposed to be done in October and keeps having delays. I guess furniture and AC units among other parts are in short supply. Now they are saying February.

There is a industry wide shortage on supplies, I was out that way in September and saw a lot of manufactures with almost ready units waiting on a/c units, furniture, windows and even heard of some with issues getting wallboard for the interior, seems like once they get what their waiting for something else ends up in shortage.

Thanks for the route information.  We have a 1994 38ft Newmar Diesel pusher and will be towing a car.  The weather in November is definitely a concern for us.  We are looking at the week before Thanksgiving or Thanksgiving week.  My sister lives in Nashville and she is checking on the logistics with covid.  We will definitely map out your route and plan on a trip in the future.  The grandkids thought it looked like a fun place to visit.

Glad to help. We went last year the week before Thanksgiving, the park will be in Christmas mode by then and they open later in the day. The days were nice but of course the nights were BRISK. The main road thru the tourist area had the 12 Days of Christmas in a light display, enjoy your trip and safe travels!!!

  3. It all depends on which way you go. We live in De and just came up from there in August, took 40 out of Tn to 81 then up 81 to Winchester Va then 7 to 340 to 70. Most GPS or map services want to route you thru 66 thru DC I choose to avoid that. Yes there are mountains on 81 but really nothing to worry about, gentle climbs, to me more like rolling hills. Now in November I would keep a watch on the weather, we did it in a car mid November last year with no issues. If you want info on stop over spots let me know.

We just spent Labor Day weekend there. Nothing was said about the age of our rv. Ours is 11 years old and looks better than some of the newer ones I've seen.

Usually parks have that rule to kind of give them a "out" incase a older less taken care of unit rolls in. I have seen some older units that were in better shape then a 2 year old unit.

  5. We tow with a full size Kenworth T2000, with a Smart car on the back and a 42' 5th wheel, we have never really had any issues anywhere we have been. We were at the Fort about 5 years ago with our then 39' 5th wheel but we parked the truck in the overflow lot to allow us more room at our site. We have also done this other places when the need arises.

  6. When we go if just the wife and I we still get a 1 bedroom, if the boys join us we do the 2 bedroom ( like the extra space ) Once we were going with camping friends and their 2 girls so we offered to try for a Grand Villa ( 3 bedroom ) but after really looking into it, it was actually cheaper to get two 2 bedroom units plus I also felt the separation time might be needed, then they said can we bring the dog??? So we brought the campers which was the original plan

  7. Well DVC finally cancelled our visit for Vero Beach that we would arrive this Sat for a week, not exactly sure how they returned our points because we were using some banked points for the trip, they show we have 600 points for the 2020 year and then 300 new points next April 2021. With any luck we will be able to bank all 600 from this year to carry over to next year, already got my oldest excited thinking a Disneyland trip

One of my nephews allowed a friend to spend a couple of months living at his house to get back on her feet after a breakup. She along with a bunch of friends went to Mexico for spring break. He told them due to his work, elderly family members, etc she would have to quarantine somewhere else for 2 weeks and was accused of being an old fuddy duddy. He stood his ground and she is in quarantine somewhere but he still doesn't understand their casual, don't care attitude about this whole mess.

If she really wants to see old fuddy duddy I would be telling her to find a  NEW place to permanently quarantine!!!! See Ya

I have no problem believing it’s true.

As many of you know TCD Twin #1 worked her way up to being a Magic Kingdom Guest Relations Castmember about two years ago, which she thought was a dream job.

Unfortunately, the job has not been a dream because of a large number of guests who are unreasonable and rude. It surprises even a cynical person like me to hear what people try and pull at the guest relations windows. It is unpleasant and time consuming to deal with this type of guest, and there are a lot of them who will head to another park and find another guest relations CM to try to convince them to give them a different answer.

I agree that it’s going to be even worse when the parks finally reopen. People suck.

    TCD

This is so true and I commend her and all the guest relation cast members who do this every day and still do it with a smile, I could never do this and would probably be fired the first day ( if not the first hour ) listening to people stretch the truth to gain freebies or upgrades :aggressive:

Now to get my elderly parents (one with a lung condition) to understand why if we come by this weekend to fix their stove and drop off groceries, we're not staying for dinner and will ask them to stay in the other room until we clean up and leave.  Wish me luck!  ;)

Good luck with that, I told my mom almost the same thing as I don't want or need to add anything else for her to worry about, she does live with a grand daughter so at least I know supplies will be replenished there when needed. She for some reason looks forward to our visits even when she always repeats the same stories form the last visit, oh well it's just things to get used to. Good thing is no Dr. appointments scheduled until late May

Yep....  but isn't that the rub of social "media"?    Remember the Swine-Flu of 2009?  The country did shut down and it too was an aggressive pandemic.  In my opinion, the main difference is:  social media.   People panic.  I think fear is built into a human's DNA.  So any mention (truthful or not) of anything bad/fearful and that's what is heard, focused on and passed along for others to believe :(

Yes that is exactly what I mean, plus some people seem to want their problems seem worse then others.....they need to remember we are all in this together.

I saw a FB post where the poster said they were quarantined to their site.

I asked it they were instructed to do that by Disney,  but they replied it was a self quarantine because someone in their party has a compromised immune system.

    That makes better sense.

Yes it makes better sense but not for what they think is better reading or adding to the hype, that's what makes thing worse!!!!
