Thanks.  Actually...I think you were the one who initially brought up checking tire temps at stops.  That’s what actually got me checking the leaf spring shackles.  Purchased a tpms a couple of years back, so I no longer feel the tires every stop, but ever since the first weld broke, I’ve made a point of looking under and checking....so, thank you for getting me started ☺️

WOW!!!!!!!!!! Now I will have to show your post to the wife to prove that someone does actually listen and learn when I say something :ROFLMAO-1:

  2. We used Tropical Palms behind Old Town, it was ok, we went cheap and got a site towards the back of the park but actually those sites were larger, short ride to the parks, I also hear the state park on 27 is nice I believe it is Lake Louisa or something like that. We would use the Thousand Trails near there also seeing we are members but their cash price seem high.

    Hi!  Thank you!

I'm not sure when I'll drive up, I need to talk with Keystone and see when I can have access to our rig.  I don't think the repair crew work on the weekends.. but I am really hoping that other teams are around and we would have access, because that would work the best for us.  I appreciate the offer to help, but I'll be good.  There isn't actually a ton of stuff (I'll probably bring our SUV and use the back of that).

    Have fun with the rally!!

Ok good, the factories do not work on the weekends and most of them start in the early morning and are done for the day by 2 or even earlier, usually service and sales or office folks are there later then that. Most of the factories I have been to have a lot of Amish working so after they are done there they get back to tend to the farms. Have a safe trip and looking forward to pictures of the new unit.

Rene and I are planning a trip to Michigan for next year's May trip. We haven't been up that way since my parents moved away in the 80's. The current plan is to travel the lower peninsula around the lakes with a side trip to the Henry Ford Museum/Greenfield Village. After that it will be up for a day or two around the straights then through the upper peninsula. Finally to finish the trip we plan to go around Lake Michigan to visit with Rene's family west of Chicago for a few days before returning home.

With the campers we stayed below the Mackinaw Bridge we used Indian River RV Resort and campground which was very nice, we did cross the ridge with just the car to sightsee and scout out a few spots then headed west towards Travers City to hit the dunes area which was fun and did a dune ride plus found some nice campgrounds. We also stayed around Ionia Mi and visited the Gilmore Auto Museum which I would also recommend a visit to.

Sounds like you've had pretty perfect temps for a summer trip!  🙂

I have been retired since 2013 and we have traveled every summer and this has been the ONLY summer we got weather like this, not sure if it was the location choice or just plain lucky but trust me we have had our HOT trips where we did not want to come out of the camper.

We need to do that one year. It is beyond hot here in the south.

We have been on the road since early June and this past Sunday was the hottest day we have encountered, we have hardly had to run the a/c and the nights have been down as far as the upper 50's. We figure if we do this trip again the next time we will probably get much hotter temps. We leave Mi. Sunday to head down to Indiana where all the rv's are built and will be there for 4 weeks, we have a strong feeling the a/c will get plenty of use then. Michigan is a wonderful state with lots to see and do, being here this year gave us a chance to see how much there is so we are already to plan our return trip.

  7. We are traveling around Mi. this summer, which by the way has been a fantastic trip, and have been scouting out campgrounds for a return trip and a lot of the very nice ones in the higher tourist area have been anywhere from $75-&110 for their level of premium full hook up sites. Even looking at Cedar Point for the trip home and they are close to $125 a night for our time frame.

I made DH get in the shower when we were looking at this one.  It's a spiffy corner one with sliding glass doors - which looks cool but it's not as roomy as you'd think when you actually get in it. It's big enough, but just.

I had a friend stay once with us in a older camper who was shall we say is on the Fluffy side, he asked if we wanted to Vaseline  the walls in the shower up so he wouldn't get stuck

  9. As far as the tp holder when we would go to shows I would always go into the bathrooms close the door and actually sit on the toilet to see if I fit, meaning do my legs hit anything, is it a right or left hand reach for tp and will even stand in the shower to see if I can stand straight up without hitting my head. You should have seen the lady's face when she opened the door and I yelled OCCUPIED!!!! :cantbelieveit:

I have a Class C and have been looking at TPMS.  Any suggestions on an affordable system?  Are the external as good as the internal?

Leave for the fort in 8 days so I'm not sure I will have one by then.

I got mine from these folks at a rv rally, really good folks to deal with, not sure they would fall into the affordable class but they might be the best.

Packing for the weekend last night and noticed something for the first time... there's no toilet paper holder/tack anywhere in the bathroom.  Talk about a weird way to cut costs!

There's also not a towel bar anywhere in there, just a couple of hooks on the wall.  There's actually plenty of room in there for both and easy enough to fix. We already bought a cheap towel ring to hang, but I looks like this weekend we're going to be juggling the TP.  LOL

2 of our previous 5th wheels did not have either installed. the story was they let the owners do it so they are put where they like it. The last 2 all were installed. Weird excuse if you ask me.

  12. When 3 of us traveling together drove to the parks one day all with crew cabs but only 2 with dual wheels they did the same thing to us, if we took the Kenworth I am not sure where they would park us. When we go to other amusement parks with the Smart car I ask for half price seeing everyone says it's half a car but they never agree with me.
