  1. Don't see any reason they couldn't place a few in the laundry rooms of a couple comfort stations. No wildlife allowed inside and you need a Magic band to open the doors so it would also keep the "riff raff" out.
  2. I think the soda machine was still there the last week of November. They really need a mug refill station there as well as several more placed around the Fort. We haven't bought mugs our last couple stays at the Fort just cause it's a good distance to TE or the swimming pool. And they're not open as many hours as at a brick and mortar resort.
  3. A few years back one of my boys got sent back to the Fort early by Lake Patrol for jumping the wakes of the boat from the Fort to MK with a Sea Raycer. We still tell him his picture is on file at all the rental counters to keep him off the water. Lol I would like to venture to the north end of Bay Lake to try to see what the Disney watercraft maintenance docks look like. I've read that they can dry dock the large Ferry boats up there.
  4. Hello All, Will be doing a short 4 day stay in March, (at the Yacht Club unfortunately) my 15 year would like to do a boat rental from the Fort. I see the price for the larger 6 person boats aren't much more than the Sea Raycer's. But he won't be able to pilot it cause the rules say 18 for the larger boats. Are the maritime laws enforced more stringently than the land rules at the fort? He really doesn't want to do the larger because he can't operate it. I would like to do it so my wife can ride along. Has anybody rented the larger boats and is it worth the $90
  5. I can see the Craigslist add now. "Slight water damage but it's easily repairable"
  6. I got pulled aside by a security officer and a plain clothes county sheriff's deputy a few years ago entering Epcot through the no bag entrance. The deputy showed me his badge and asked me to hand over my knife. He opened it and measured the blade against his badge. The blade wasn't as long as his badge so he said I was good. I think he said at the time there was a maximum blade length of 3". I told him we were at FW and I clipped it in my pocket as force of habit. He suggested I leave it at the camper the rest of my stay to prevent any more stops by security, which I do to this day
  7. I tried that as a joke with an MP at the gate into Tobyhanna Army Depot once. I had a service truck and was there to repair a Wheel loader at the motor pool. He asked if I had any weapons. I told him possibly. Torches, prybars, utility knives, hack saw, sawzall and went down the list of what was on my truck that could be used as a weapon. He was not very impressed with my attempt at humor. Whenever he was on duty from then on I had to pull through the "more intensive " inspection line and open all the doors and hood on the truck.
  8. It would be amazing if the Mouse carried that kind of sway.
  9. What state is this public service message from? " Don't use four wheel drive" That's even funnier than the spelling
  10. Wonder if the "Do Not Disturb" policy gives Disney the right to enter an RV or tent. I guess time will tell.
  11. I spoke to a guy at the dog run a few years ago who just had his RV in the fort for his dg to stay in while the rest of his family was at the Lodge. He or his wife would just bus over a couple times a day to take him to the dog park and make sure there was fresh food and water for him.
  12. I often wondered how they book sites also. We checked into 352 the Saturday after Thanksgiving, The site directly across from us was open from Sunday morning until after check in on Thursday.

  14. I agree on the strollers. My wife gets embarrassed but whenever we run into a family with a double stroller that seats the kids in line like a bobsled. I say "Thank You" for bringing a reasonable stroller to the park. Watching people try to fold up a golf cart sized stroller right in front of the bus door instead of in line while waiting for the bus can be entertaining.
  15. I hadn't been to WDW since April. My wife was there with our boys in July and August. And the whole process of using the dining discount seemed more cumbersome to her also. We've only been passholders for three years so maybe they were just got a little bit loose on the rules and are going "by the book" now.
  16. Whenever the servers came to our table they always ask if you are on the dining plan or have any discounts. Show card and ID, enjoy meal, check comes, no discount. "Sorry forgot to enter your discount, I'll be right back." That was the deal at the majority of our dinners. First night was our fault. Was just wondering if management is advising servers to "forget" to enter discount as a way of increasing their revenue. Or like I said do my wife and I look shady.
  17. Hello All, Just returned Saturday from 7 days at the Fort. Other than our first assigned sight already being occupied with a camper when we got to it. And then our second site being occupied by the neighbors car and golf cart when we got there. The Campground stay was awesome as usual. One problem we had with the rest of the stay was getting our AP dining discounts. Even when we showed our card and photo ID to our server, the discount had been forgotten when we got our check 75% of the time. Even though the ticket the hostess or host puts on your table for the server when you a
  18. Got in around four yesterday afternoon loop 300. Didn't have the correct level site reserved for 12 or 1300. But 300 is really nice. Just gotta keep the golf cart tires away from the road apples the the horse and sleigh ride leaves behind.
  19. So how can I request a certain loop? When we log into our reservation nothing appears in the "Requested Room" drop downs.
  20. Duane, We were on the right side of 600 about half way through the loop. And our non awning side of the motor home was in the sun all day. The openness of the loop due to lack of trees and it's close proximity to the main roadway is what turned us off to it. Thanks again everyone for the info on 12 an 1300. We'll definitely take one if available. And to Robin, have a happy birthday.
  21. Hello All, New to the site and it looks like there are many like my wife and I who enjoy the Fort. ( still my favorite of all WDW resorts) We will be checking in on Nov.25th and heading home Dec, 1st. Last year we took photos of the loops we have not stayed in yet and looked nice. We liked the 1200 and 1300 loops has anyone had any less than magic stays in either one? We were in the 600 loop last year the same week and didn't care for the layout. Thanks in advance.
