Today was the official opening of the Merida (from the new Disney/Pixar movie "Brave") meet and greet area. We were fortunate to be in the right place at the right time and got invited to meet Merida. Here's the entrance... When they open the gate Merida is standing there waving you to come in... Here's Merida as she tells a little story about waking up her bears (the ones behind her)... And my little prince getting to meet Merida.... Next you follow the line down to an area where they show you how to shoot with a bow and arrow. One shot per child! Then you move to the table in the cen

Water Park Crowds for July 4
Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo..Karla replied to Brent... Just Brent's topic in Disney Trips
Many years ago we brought our daughter and her girlfriend down during July 4th week. We went (or tried to go) to MK and BB. NEVER, EVER AGAIN!! There were so many people you couldn't even turn around, much less find a spot to sit. No chairs to be found at BB and the line for drinks/food was miles long. A couple of the days they stopped admitting people into MK and BB due to overcrowding. Do yourself a favor....unless you absolutely have to be at WDW...stay away and leave it to the other crazy people! -
Where have you seen the dump trucks? We've only seen dirt being trucked out from the Four Seasons project. Of course, being rule respecting guests we wouldn't venture into the off limits, cast members only areas. But if we hear of something we'll be sure and let you know. Then again, since you know we're gone so much, we may never find an answer for you!

Weeeeeellllllll.....if you really want to know... and since you asked... The 200 loop was closed down a couple days (they were tree trimming) and so was one of the cabin loops (don't know why). Edited to add....the 200 loop is still closed....don't know why...nobody is there doing anything, digging up anything or bulldozing anything down. Then there was the painting and some roof work on top of Crockett's. Oh, and our sewer connection backed up (the Disney section in the ground) as we were emptying the black tank (Trust me....you don't want to see the pictures of that!!) :barf: Other than

Hey....yooooo hooooo!!! TCD!!! :wave1: I think we've found some competition for your RMOG award... :jumpforjoy Take a look at this..... :hah: What do you think??? Yes, that's a van towing (I think) a car hauler that has a big wooden box on it, then a huge pile of junk (chairs, bottles, car seats, a child's wagon, some sort of table, etc), and then a pick up truck behind the junk!! There were a whole bunch of children's toys by the front of the van. We think they slept in the van as there was no tent or any other sleeping facility visible. There was also no cooking stuff or anything s

Here's one of the CMs at Buzz Lightyear with her ipad for checking xpasses. Here's what they have made the Fast Pass entrance at HM.... Going in the FP entrance you go directly up to the split where you have the choice of going into the cemetery or continuing straight through to the entrance doors. BTW, we didn't ever see anybody in the FP line. People in the "regular" line (including wheelchairs, ECVs, people with walkers, etc) are shuttled into the cemetery entrance (left side) and one step before you go into the cemetery (where the statues are) there is now a small cut off to the right wh

If you'd stay longer than 20 minutes you might catch up with me! :raspberry: Besides, it was important...I had to take my sick baby to the vet. If it was Buddy you'd be doing the same thing... And...."We know Lou's a softie"... because he brings little 4 1/2 year old boys toy busses!!! (He's just loving it too!) :thank-you-smiley3:

Finger Scan Entry System
Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo..Karla replied to Lou...'s topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
Just imagine the dirt and germs on that finger scanner??? Nevermind......can you say e coli?? :barf: -
We are CoachNet users. Needed them twice while traveling through Michigan. Both times CoachNet was very professional and sent the correct type of tow truck for our motorhome. CoachNet's first concern was to make sure that we were somewhere safe off the highway. They kept us completely informed of the tow truck situation, like when he would arrive and who was coming (so we would know who to look for). I would say they contacted us about every 30 minutes to assess the situation. The next day CoachNet contact us to make sure that we were satisfied with the work performed and asked if there was an

Just a quick update this morning.... These photos might be of interest to those that remember TCD's previous reports. Does this guy look familiar?? He's the one that got stuck under the number 6 sign. We kept going by but never found anybody at home. This is one big monster rig! And here's the outpost... still minus the number 6 sign. Remember TCD's crane?? Well, here they are today looking uglier than ever. Surely ruins the view for me! As you get closer you can see that there are TWO cranes. :grumpy2: Construction looks to be progressing rather rapidly. More to come later...lookin

Time for another update. Today we are all about PIRATES!! WARNING!!! If you're not into cute pirates and go to a different thread. As a surprise, we signed Aiden up for Disney's Pirates League. He loves Jake and the Neverland Pirates but mostly he loves Captain Jack. We started our day early with Aiden in his Captain Jack costume... We made our way to the Pirates League entrance in Adventureland... Here's the inside of Pirates League as Aiden waited patiently for his turn... Pirate Goofy paid a visit to all the new little pirates... Finally it was Aiden's turn...here he is taking the

Those turkeys are all over the Fort. I think there are fewer down towards the marina and Crockett's since there are more gatherings of people in those areas and more noise. But up by the entrance they are all over the place. I actually think there are more turkeys then deer. I wish they would bring back the peacocks (but maybe not their noise!) Peacocks are so much prettier than turkeys.

Love Bugs
Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo..Karla replied to Discamper's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
Sounds dumb, but we use dryer sheets. Put a couple in a small container of warm water. Use the dryer sheets to wash the love bugs off. Then rinse with clean water. The stuff in the dryer sheets softens the bugs right up and the slight texture of the sheets helps to remove any residue. Works every time and doesn't take the wax off or harm the finish. -
Bug Control
Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo..Karla replied to Brent... Just Brent's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
Sometimes that motorhome seems like it's the biggest money pit! Luckily DH is very good at doing the maintenance on ours or we'd never be able to afford a Disney trip.
