  1. We camped at this location one night on our return trip heading back home from Fort Wilderness. It was in May 2008 and it was still a KOA. During our stay the campground was very clean and we did not have any problems. It sounds like things have changed. I am not sure who the family is in the first picture but I thought the picture of the lake area was worth posting. I hope it is not a problem. Doug / datgrt@fw

  8. Hello H in SC ............ It really is a great campground! There is nothing that compares to Fort Wilderness but to us if we can't make it to FW Willow Tree Resort is the next best thing! I am not sure the total number of sites that have the hot tubes but I think it is around 10. Willow Tree is actually located about 10 miles form Myrtle Beach. Myrtle Beach?s only campground to offer this feature! Signature campsites are the ultimate luxury in camping. The signature sites are very large lakefront sites with super size concrete patios and a private four person hot tub right there on your
  9. We really enjoy camping at Willow Tree Resort in Longs, South Carolina when we are not able to make it to Fort Wilderness. [link deleted as it appeared to be a spam magnate] Doug / datgrt@fw
  10. Hello ukmummy and 'Welcome'! It is great to have a new member from the UK! Doug / datgrt@fw
  11. Hello anolefan .......... Our favorite full hook-up site is also 1431and favorite partial hook-up is site 1513. We have camped many times in the 1400 Loop and have only been assigned site 1431 twice. We have been very fortunate to be able to stay in 1513 many times when we only needed a partial hook-up site. 12. Welcome ........... I am glad you found us! It took me a little time to locate where everyone went as well. Doug / datgrt@fw
  13. Hello Ken and Judy ............. We also really like the sites in the 1400 Loop that back-up toward the meadow. In 2008 we took our pop-up (Blue Roof Inn) much cheaper on gas and were assigned site #1431. That was before they upgraded it to a premium and it is one of the biggest sites in the 1400 Loop. The next year after the loop was upgraded my wife and I traveled with my BIL and SIL and pulled his 32' Rockwood and we had hoped to get the same site but were assigned site #1433 and it was not as large but still worked out well for us. 14. 1500 Loop / Cottontail Curl is our favorite loop when we don't need full hook-up! We love the sites that back-up to the canal and our favorite site is #1513. There are many great sites in the 1500 Loop but we prefer the sites located to the right on the outside and like others have stated not too close to the road. The location of the 1500 Loop is excellent if you want to be close to the Meadow Recreation Area / Trading Post / Bike Barn and the Campfire Sing-A-Long! Based on the loops central location we have always found it easy to reach any other area of Fort Wilderness either by bike,
  15. Well ....... One or two times a years for the last 30+ years! Our record year was five times in 2009. As you can see our family loves Fort Wilderness and WDW! 'Many' great family memories over the years! From our home in North Carolina it is about an eleven hour drive. It is around 650 miles. Since our oldest daughter and her family recently moved to OK we have not be able to travel back down to Fort Wilderness as much as we would like. We try to spend as much time as we can with them.
