  1. I hope by resort guest you are also talking about ADR's at resorts. We live local now and frequently go eat. I agree though, it's sad that it is coming to this.
  2. If it gets much worse, they are going to have to stop folks from coming in without reservations to eat or to stay at the resort or keep a list of who comes in. Obviously, thieves were cruising the parking lot to see what they could steal. I'm sure they were coming to eat or something.
  3. BIG RANT: While my brother was doing the marathon this morning a low-life, sorry, piece of crap stole his wheel chair off the carrier on the back of his car in public, in broad daylight. Yes, Disney is not the magical place where you and your belongings are safe anymore. He was parked in a handicapped parking spot at Old Key West, a Disney resort hotel. The people who took it obviously did not know or care if they left a disabled, veteran without mobility. Thank God Ed is not completely dependent on the chair to move around. It does limit him to just the house and a short walk in a store. He d
  4. We ate here a couple of weeks ago. I'm not generally a huge fan of asian food, but I am now a huge fan of Morimotos! Here are a couple of pics from our meal. These ribs are fantastic! I ate some that we had leftover the next day cold and they were still tremendous! These were $36.00 and well worth it! You can order them as an app and get 3 for $14 These crab rangoons have no resemblance to any I've had at a chinese restaurant. OMIGOSH, They were soooo delicious. When they say crab and cream cheese, they mean sweet, succulent fresh crab with a barely noticeable amount of cream cheese to
  5. Speaking of other ticket increases, the local news just had a piece about Disney going to demand based pricing. Higher prices for busier times, less for the slower times. So basically, they'll price out Joe Middle Class from taking his family when they are out of school and the Mr. & Mrs. Got More Money can better enjoy a less busy holiday time. Doesn't that just make you feel the disney magic? NOT
  6. They are the best when it comes to sucking the money from the bank account. Some folks like the idea of the photopass being included with the ap. I know there are many like Ed and I that might take a few pics, but really how many pics of us in front of the ball or the castle or on a ride do we need? No big investment on their part there. Plus, if there is no sharing with friends and family, that does away with much of the photopass sharing. Big win on their part. They blocked Christmas and Spring Break on the gold pass which should be equivalent to what I have now, a regular AP. As a t
  7. Mama was not a recipe girl either so I learned by watching. Even when I use a recipe I just wing it for the most part and make changes as I go. The bad thing about that is if you make something really good, you have no idea how to recreate it! Disclosure: Usually I take a shortcut somewhere in the meal. For instance in that country fried steak meal, the biscuits were Mrs. B's. Not as good as homemade, but when you are frying and making gravy there's not a lot of time to make biscuits! :) My Mama said you have to have "good hands" for biscuits and dumplins" sometimes I have them, sometimes
  8. You know I'm not a good recipe girl right? Ingredients Self Rising Flour Lard or Shortening buttermilk or milk Preheat oven to 450 to 475. Put flour in a biscuit bowl or just whatever you have. Put in some lard. Use your fingers, a fork or a pastry thingy to cut the lard in. You want small little pieces. Make a well and add the buttermilk and start bringing together til it forms a ball. Don't over handle if you want flaky biscuits. Plop on a floured board and gently roll out about 1/4 inch or so thick. You can use a biscuit cutter or just a glass about the right size. Butter a pan and pl
  9. Yesterday I was posting about all of our delicious southern food. This led to some cravin's! Country Fried Steak Ingredients (keep it simple) Cubed Steak flour Salt & pepper to taste oil to fry Season Flour with Salt and Pepper. I use a ziploc bag. Shake meat in bag while heating oil. When oil is hot, begin frying. Be careful not to get the grease too hot because you will want it for the gravy. Gravy Drain some of the grease out leaving the sediment and a couple or more tablespoons of grease. Add flour until you get a thickened kind of roux. Turn heat down and let it c
  10. Here is a picture of our contribution to the potluck at 4th of July in 2012 I think. and one of Mama's absolute favorites for breakfast was country ham. She made Red Eye gravy to go with grits when we had it. This is actually a picture from Waffle House which offers a choice of Country Ham or City Ham. Here was her traditional country ham biscuit from Hardees on the way to the Fort. Another good southern treat is biscuit and sausage gravy. Some of the suggestions from my area of the south are peas & butterbeans, greens & cornbread, country fried steak (not the crap
  11. It was really busy and just wasn't worth the hassle to me.
  12. I made a quick trip over to MK last night. Ed was eating with friends at Boma, so I was on my own. I decided on Pecos Bills. We had eaten here a couple of times years ago and it was pretty good. Nothing earth shattering, but decent. Not anymore. I ordered a Disney quick serve staple, the burger. The toppings bar was chaotic. The onions were barely cooked at all. It was so horrid I couldn't even eat half of it. I was hungry, but could not choke the driest, coldest burger on the hardest bun down. It was busy, so there was no reason that it should have just been sitting around. The price for th
  13. I'm not sure what anyone is planning or even what I will be doing, but I would love to meet you!
  14. I'm not sure about the details on your trip, but I'd love to come meet you!
  15. One of my favorite thanksgiving meals ever was at the fort with fiends! We cooked a turkey in the roaster oven, homemade dressing in another roaster. We also had collard greens, cornbread and peas & butter beans. Others brought sides too. While we are talking about this, let me say I hope to see some Fiends at Thanksgiving!
  16. We have been talking about trying it out. I'll post if we do!
  17. In the Kissimmee area there is a large Puerto Rican influence. There is a local store called Kissimmee produce that has all kinds of cool things. I still don't know what most of them are! Lol Their deli is filled with deliciousness. I am on my phone now but will try to post more when it is easier.
  18. Awesome news about the job, even if it has to be at that bad place instead of an Awesome place like FSU! I can't believe how many times we have been at the parks at the same time and we have still yet to run in to you. Maybe one day soon.
  19. There really wasn't much of anywhere to take cover. It was packed and we couldn't find anywhere inside over near tomorrow land to seek cover. It was kind of funny because when there were big bolts of lightning you could hear almost a collective "ahhhh ohhhh" kind of sound. We were soaked and glad when it finally cleared up.
  20. Ed and I went over to the Fort to visit and have lunch. We left via Vista out to 535. They had set up overflow parking for the Fort out near all the Disney construction company places at the 4-way stop. I'm glad we got there early enough to park in the regular parking!
  21. It does not mention Epcot having special 4th of July fireworks. Is that an oversight?
  22. That's great! Day got Mama a new one in their 33rd. I think I like the original best though!
