  1. Charity, thank you so much for sharing! I know how much work goes into resizing of the pictures..lol I have a back log of trip reports to read but I'm dying to hear how you managed all those people. Seven drains my will to live at times, I cant imagine 11, although our next trip will include my inlaws and two lab's so I'll be up to 11.. shew..
  2. oh God, that offends me. like it's been said, I could stay at the Poly for that.
  3. Pam how long do the classes usually last? I read somewhere 3 hours but I didnt see that on the website. I'm still in shock at the savings on this program, what a great deal! Is there a way to get email notification when the programs become available? I read on the website that programs become available anywhere from 3 to 6 months prior, and it would appear that they fill up fast!
  4. I absolutely can't wait to get ahold of Anna.. ya'll have been forewarned, ME FIRST!
  5. ya know Carol, we should have just jumped in the truck and went and crashed their darn mini meet.. I mean we are only a couple hours away after all!!
  6. Ok, I just spent 30 minutes on the Yes Website, thanks for that Lou, can I say OMG OMG OMG, I had no idea about this program, I had heard it mentioned but I thought it was for homeschoolers only. That is a significant discount, ecspecially for a large family like mine! I went through the steps and I would save almost $450 dollars over the cost of what I paid for tickets last year! That pays for my fort stay AND the kids get some learning.. lol I was feeling kinda guilty for pulling them out of school for Halloween week.. this might help me feel better about it.. :rofl2: If I hadnt said it
  7. Steph, do you coupon? Have you ever heard of "couponing to Disney" google it and check out the website, the lady makes sense and all her "savings" goes into your annual disney trip fund..
  8. You sound like me, I'm ok as long as I know I have a few trips "on the books" lol right now we have April 27th to 29th (mommy and Xander weekend) at Pop Century (my oldest is doing a music workshop and concert at Epcot) Memorial Day weekend at Stone Mountain with the fiends.. whoot whoot! We have booked June 30th to July 7th at the fort but will be changing it the Adventure Bound Camp Grounds in Gatlinburg then I'm not sure, I'm hoping to get in a few local trips before Halloween at the fort!
  9. this thing really is neat, I've been using it for two years now so it's durable, if it can survive my clan.. it can survive anything lol I have yet to find a decent air mattress for me and dad.
  10. Steph, check this out http://www.amazon.com/Deluxe-Big-Bear-Bunk-Cot/dp/B004TXY21C/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1327248217&sr=8-2 I hope that works, the kids says it super comfortable so I can put two kids in the space the size of one twin mattress, of all my goodies, this is my favorite peice. It's pricey, but I feel like it's totally worth it, Have you thought about trying to do Halloween at the fort? I can tell you it's simply amazing!! and we will be there :)
  11. 12. oh you can do it! Our first trip I got all THAT stuff in a Armada I did use the roof bag to, it was tight but we made it ok.
  13. I'm contemplating this for our memorial day trip, I'll let you know how it goes, I'm torn between this and using one of those stand alone units.. I haven't quit figured out how to "vent" that one..
  14. I can tell you from experience, the Fort is one of the best places if you plan on going solo. I never felt nervous or "antsy" and the great thing about the fiends, they are always just a phone call or click away. I'm taking by clan to Stone Mountain for the Fiend memorial gathering this year and chances are Daddy will be away. I'm not the least bit nervous because I know if something happens, the fiends are there and will come running to my rescue, and that is a great feeling. My first trip to the fort DH was a bit nervous about it to, we had a 12 hour drive and that was probably the tough
  15. Hey sweetheart! Welcome to Fort Fiends, I can tell you that this place is like no other, you will not only get all the info you possibly need and more, you will meet some of the most awesome people evah!! Oh dear where to start. I camp occasionally (tent) with my kids (alone, Daddy travels alot), 12, 11, 10, 3 and 1. It's a blast! The fort is the mecca for tent campers. There is so much there for the kids I highly recommend that you plan some down time to enjoy what the fort has to offer. I by no means consider my self an expert but there has been a few tips I learned from fiends that I
  16. I didnt respond the first time I read your thread quite simply, I was overwhelmed with sadness and just didnt know what to say. You are obviuosly a strong man and have found some peace in the mist of all this. This is the right place for you to share such a beautiful tribute, fiends are a special group, not just another internet group. I hope and pray that this trip to the Fort offers you what we all know it can, special memories, peace of mind and a little pixie dust. If all goes well we will be checking in on the 30th of June, so even if it's just for a moment, I hope to meet you and tho
  17. Tell Josh not to worry, he has won the heart of all fiends, check my Halloween report (even though I kinda sorta never finished it) you can see my big burly tattooed, hairy billy bad ass husband in one of Jen's Tye Dyed Snarky shirts.. LOL.. Tell him Dave says it's ok to "douche" it up at Disney :rofl2: One of these days he will actually start reading these threads and he'll probably kill me, until til then ... :hah: @DH..
  18. Dont let my experience discourage you, I think if it had been just me and my husband my tolernace would have been a little higher, however when my little ones are woke up ... rarrrrrrrrr! Maybe if enough of tent camping fiends pulled together this year for Halloween we could occupy a good chunk of 2000.. lol. My first trip I LOVED 2000, I even preferred it over 1500 because of the size and I liked the location, I felt like I was "away" from it all and I kinda enjoyed that. We are hoping to move up to a pop up or hybrid this year, but if not, we will be right there with you at Halloween :)
