you are forgiven this time Missy! My inlaws are moving to Alabama in two weeks, they recently retired and are all about spending time with the grandkids which means mom will hopefully have the opportunity for more down time.. impromptu trip to the fort fits the bill just fine :)

well, call me crazy, but I did use dry ice my first camping trip at the fort, it lasted about 3 days wrapped in a newspaper and then a ziploc bag, I read that somewhere and it worked pretty good, it wasnt cold enough to keep anything frozen for that long but it did keep the drinks cool :) I didnt do it again because I was paranoid about the kids "touching" it.. lol

fashionably late as always, but I'm in!! Can't wait to see how Josie enjoyed the fort, I haven't yet gotten up the nerve to take my two lab pups camping, they are such wreaking balls I can only imagine what they might do..

I have been rolling this idea around for a while we need a thread for recipes!! I figure it couldn't be much more expensive than the premium foods they already get, how does the quantity consumed compare to other foods? Right now the lab pups are up to 4 cups a day each based on their weight but they still seem hungry.

do we speak from experience dear?

I simply love your ideas Marty! I did a few freezer meals today, I did baked spaghettie and Ziti, the next few weeks are going to be busy so those little things make all the difference. I hadnt even thought about freezing the crockpot meals, genius!! Do you have a Sam's Club in your area? I have found that I save ALOT of money buying items in bulk there.

We haven't had any issues with pulling them out for 5 days at Halloween YET, but of course I give them the whole.. "this is the only time of year we can go as a family.. blah blah blah speech..." I expect this will change as my kids get older but right now I'm enjoying the fact that we can "sneak" out mid year for a week.

Judy, something I have used the heck out of for Izzy when we are camping is her Kid Pod, it's a little pop up tent bed thingy, google it and check it out, folds up small and is perfect for putting the wee ones to sleep outdoors :)

Just give them the "whistle" Marty, that's impressive stuff right there :D

Hi there, we are a tent camping family of seven, I use a utility trailer to take our stuff, until you upgrade it's the only way to go!
