  1. We were luckily enough to get the Premium Annual Pass with the DVC deal. It was $399 a person. I just activated in August and hoep to get 4 trips out of it. The AP came in handy when were finishing up shopping on our last day. Our friends did not have any days left on their tickets and they could not find what they were looking for at World of Disney. I got in the car and went to DHS and got them what they were looking for. As others have said. If the AP is going to be less than buying the number of days you will be there, then get it. jon
  2. They try to keep siblings on the same track. It gets more difficult when the kids get to High School age because none of them are year round. They have what they call Modified, which starts a little earlier and has a little bit longer breaks. They try to coincide with some of the tracks, but still not great.
  3. Year Round Schools. We have kids that go to school for 9 weeks, then get 3 weeks off. There are 4 tracks. So there is always 1/4 of the school off. They do all get time around XMas off. I think they all get at least one week in July off.
  4. I am a DVC member and a Premium Annual Passholder. The ONLY reason that I will be getting my magic bands is that I will be staying at the Fort in December.
  5. The tests are now being extended to ALL resort guests and extended through all of December. Here is a link. It has good information about MB and MDE along with Fastpass+. Just personalized mine for my trip in December. With those with AP's, make sure to have your AP with you just in case the link online does not work. Have friends that did not bring their card with them, they tried to get in and the link to their AP was not working. They gave them a hard time, but they eventually got in. jon
  6. Cool, hopefully we will be early and will be able to check it out.
  7. We will be down there then. We are from the 21st - 28th. Have Biergarten and the Candlelight Processional on Christmas Eve. Then BBB for my DD with CRT for Breakfast right after.
  8. When are you leaving on the 21st. We will just be arriving. I am hoping that we really get a chance to see your RV. I think my DD will LOVE it. I know I already do.
  9. Lizard Lick is a town in NC. Know people that live there. Also know people that live in Climax, NC.
  10. I think that is the one i Stayed at last trip for a night. It was clean and worth it. Very close. Would definitely stay there again if I needed to book a room for one night.
  11. As an owner of Saratoga Springs points, I would agree with the Troll. I love the honesty of your reports. I do not want to hear that everything is great, when it is not. If I wanted to hear that I would go ask for a DVC video or a video made from Disney on the parks. The resort is nothing special. However, it is one of the biggest resorts and therefore most of the time has availability. Which is nice when you have points available and need to get a room last minute. The food at Artists Palette is one of the better Quick Service places. They just redid the spa, the gym does not seem to
  12. I have used points to stay at AKL before it became a DVC. Definitely missed some of the things that I am used to DVC (Free Laundry being the most important). When I originally bought into DVC, I calculated that in 3 cruises it would pay for itself, that included the maintenance fees. However, after staying at the Deluxe Resorts and doing even more math, it turns out that it is cheaper to rent out your points and then pay cash for the cruise. I have not done that either because I never have enough points to rent out. Shardi I also never have used it outside of DVC other then AKL. For wha
  13. I definitely agree with that. I would need enough people to fill up all three bedrooms in order to justify staying there.
  14. Andy, I am with you. However, the ones at Disneyland were fluffy, not overcooked. I think that line was the longest I waited for anything when I was there.
  15. So sorry you were not able to stay there and that Disney could not help you. The treehouses are different now then when you would have stayed in 2001. They had to keep the buildings in the same spaces the old ones were in, but everything was brand new when they re-opened them tied to DVC.
  16. The beignets at Disneyland were very good. Stinks that the ones at Port Orleans are that bad. It sounds like the whole restaurant is not up to par.

  18. We did grill a lot. The people that we were with did not want to go out too often. Yes, those steps were a pain and even more tiring after a long day at the parks. It would have been nice to have a table somewhere down at ground level so you could bring everything down at once. We mainly did chicken, so brought it down, threw it on the grill, flipped it once and done. All condiments were left upstairs either on the table on the deck or inside. Also, having a golf cart would have been very nice. They need to build golf cart parking at the grandstand so people can drive there and park i
  19. There are some that are handicap accessible. I think their are only 5. The ramps are very long, just because of the height.
  20. I loved the resort. I do not know if I would do it again with the new point structure. When I did it, it was the same as a 2 Bedroom at SS.
  21. Carol, you are correct. It is very isolated. However, you are easily within walking distance to Saratoga Springs which has all the amenities and multiple pools with slides and play structures. It is very much like the fort where you need to take an internal bus to SS, then catch another to the parks. There is a path you can walk, takes about 5 - 10 minutes to the Grandstand section, then only one bus is needed.
  22. Golf carts can fit on the paths, but only for Maintenance and Housekeeping. Otherwise, no Golf Carts allowed. It depends on the size of the people. At one point, we had 6 adults, 3 Children(2,1,Infant). The six adults were fine in the beds. 2 in the master bedroom, 2 in the second bedroom, 2 in the bunk. Since the kids were small they slept with their parents in cribs and in their beds. However, there is a pullout couch and a chair that converts to a bed. It sleeps 9 and I would say 9 could be comfortable, especially if you go at a time that the deck can be used. It was very big.
  23. The treehouse villas were very relaxing. I will say that if you have young kids (Stroller age), I do not think they will like them as much as someone with children not in strollers. The main reason, all those steps, long walks to the actually treehouses. We had two children with us that were in strollers, mine and my sister-in-laws. It was a pain worrying about the stroller and carrying it up and down the steps. Then you had to either walk to the internal bus stop, walk to the grandstand section of Saratago Springs, take the boat to the Springs section or to your car. All of these optio
