For those who have said that they are in for the Defeated Creek GG, could you please let us know if a certain weekend works best for you or if a weekend is out because you already have plans. Typically the GG has been in September, but would anyone object to possibly the first weekend in October? I am not sure if that would work with AL and TN Fall breaks, but thought I would just mention that as a possibility.

We're in again for DC. That's always a good time.
Awesome! Do you have a weekend that works best for you or any that you know won't work?

We’re out of town for fall break Sept 19-26.
Would you you go if it was the week before or after (1st weekend of October) your fall break? The only other weekend would be Labor Day and I am not sure how booked up that already is right now.

Well folks it is March which means this is the month to get our sites for Defeated Creek. Does anyone have a preferred weekend for the GG or do you know one that will not work because you already have something scheduled?

I'm up for any weekend, but the later in the month, the cooler weather it will be 🙂
Generally yes, but If I remember correctly there was some swimming going on last year. That was the last weekend of September.

We enjoyed last year. This year I know we won't be able to. Rene's father has not been doing well health wise so we are planning a few extended trips up to the Chicago area which will pretty much kill any true vacations for this year.
We will miss you. However completely understand your desire to spend the extra time you have with Rene’s dad. I will add him to my prayers.

How exciting! I hope you are able to surprise them. How old will the grandchildren be when you take the trip?

When I was work traveling to Orlando extensively, I learned quickly that my work was all the way over by UCF, and any company I would want to work for was over there by UCF. When traveling for work, that was a lot of miles and tolls across 417 to get to Disney.
We seriously considered relocating to the I-4 corridor about 3 years ago. Did some house hunting, and tiny lots (meaning a two story house to get any SF), with high prices, and high HOA fees, high property taxes, (plus too much stucco and no brick), really turned us off. Plus the salary being offered were less than here in N. Alabama with larger lots, lower home prices, low property taxes, etc. Yes, we have a state tax, but everything else offsets that.
We decided to stay put.
Not only stayed put, but moved closer to me.

Rachel and I were there last week. They had already started marking things down to 50% then.

I joined on the second or third day, I can't remember for sure anymore. 2011 was along time ago. Thank you so much.
You're welcome!

No thank you. This has scam written all over it. Posted on a "kids" account, grammatical errors such as "We've", short turn around to build urgency, minimal " likes", "not associated with Instagram" but you "agree to Instagram terms". Plus why would an adult "18 years of age" contest be posted on a kid's Instagram account? If I was this childs parent I would be shutting her Instagram account down ASAP! As we all tell our kids, "Stranger Danger" more than ever applies to the Internet. Stay safe.
This is actually a contest being done by a fellow Fiend. Lone Star has been a member here for quite awhile. I have enjoyed the videos he has shared of his little girl.

She has so much talent! It's great to see the way God blesses people with certain abilities..
Thank you! Art is the one thing she has always enjoyed ever since she was a little girl. I am glad she has stuck with it for so many years.

Jessica actually finished this one last month. She has since then moved on oilpainting.

So my van is going to need to be replaced. The cost to fix the things breaking on it is more than it is worth. As a result I am driving up in our Camry. Needless to say my space is much more limited. Would folks have a few extra chairs as I won't be able to bring any.
Oh and it kills me not to be baking something for the potluck, but I think we are just going to pick something up from Wally Mart on Saturday for it.

Here is what I have for the counts so far for the potluck. As others chime in I will update.
Auburn Jen & Auburn Chris (3)
Fladogfan (2)
Mouseketab (1)
ImDownWithDisney (7)
Momof3kids (3)
Littleolwoman (11 & an infant)
Andy and Jessica friends of LittleolWoman (9)Keith H (2)
TN22 & Mrs TN22 (2)
Tim and Vicky (2)So it looks like there will be about 42 for the Potluck. Of course some of these are children. For planning purposes, I think if we each planned on our potluck item to feed about a third of that we should be good.

I hope they know what they are in for! Nothing like a Fiend gathering right next door. I bet the join the board before they leave the campground.
Next door? They are right between Blake and me. We'll just set up on their site.

I am canceling my site. If anyone wants it you should be able to get it within 5 minutes of cancellation on recreation.gov. I hate to be canceling. I plan on coming up but will not be around for the pot luck.
Looks like it has been snatched up.

I was going to try to come up Saturday after Ty's BB game and Riley's VB games but now Ty has a double header so that is that. Anyone coming up 65 can stop by exit 27 for a visit, we are in site 13 except for most of the day Saturday :).
Awww man.
Good luck to Ty and Riley in their games.

Let's talk about the Potluck.
We know Jen is allergic to chocolate. Are there any other allergies that we should be aware of when planning for the Potluck Saturday?
