Thanks to Jason!  I enjoyed the video conference last night.  I am up for next week if you guys are.  Here are a few ideas we might want to discuss...

    1.  When was your first trip to Disney World?

    2.  When is your next trip, hopefully, to The Fort?

    3. What is your favorite memory of The Fort or Disney World?

What are some of your ideas to discuss?

    Those are great ideas.

If this virtual GG had a potluck what would you have brought to it?

Just watched Pixar in Real Life Shorts.... Very funny and cute 🙂

Rachel and I were just checking that out. We just finished watching (not all at once) the Fairytale Weddings and were looking to see what other Original shows were available. I will let her know you said the Pixar in Real Life was good.

I've been watching the Imagineering Story, Frank and Ollie, Waking Up Sleeping Beauty, A Day in Disney, and other "behind the scenes" shows. We did figure out how to watch it on the big TV in the living room, just can't use the surround sound.

I really enjoyed “Waking up Sleeping Beauty.”

But it still hasn't stopped the flood of FB posts asking when the parks will open, and the others whining because they miss Disney soooo much and can't stand not being there.

I like Disney also, but geez folks get a life!  Be happy you and your family are safe, don't have the virus,  have food, a place to live, a job and TP!

Have I mentioned how much more joyful my life has been since giving up Facebook for Lent. I can see why people have removed themselves from it. I don’t know that I will do that as I do like to be connected to family and friends. However, I do plan on removing myself from many groups and unliking pages.

  5. Tomorrow is the day to officially book for the Defeated Creek 2020 GG. Booking opens at 9am CST/10am EST.
You can use this website to book your site. https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/232572

Recreation.gov also has App that you can get and reserve your site using that. I actually found the App super easy to navigate.

Currently sites 57, 59, 63 and 64 have been booked by Fiends.
Surprisingly site 66 & 69 are still not reserved yet. They are full hook up water front sites.

  6. If you are wanting one of the water front sites that have a sewer hook up, currently the only sites available near us are: 69, 44  & 48.  Tomorrow morning sites 66  and 45 will become available, but I expect they will go quickly so if you want them use your RoTR boarding pass fingers to try and snag it before someone else does. I would suggest having a Recreation.gov account and be logged in ready to go before 10am EST/9am CST.

We are booked on site 63 for the week

I booked 64. Though I will be reducing the days as it gets closer. Looking at the website it looks like they have made changes and that will be considered modifying rather than a cancellation. According to what I am reading there will not be a fee.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if we find out down the line that it's been around (and spreading) a lot longer than we were led to believe.

I have a friend whose husband has been in the hospital at Vanderbilt for over a month. He was first sent to the local hospital here. Then they rushed him to the main hospital.   Shortly after arriving there they had to send him to Vanderbilt. He had been diagnosed with pneumonia, bronchitis and the flu. Someone asked her if he was ever tested for the Covid19. She said no because at the time he got sick it was not believed to be in the States. Today she posted on his Caringbridge site that she can no longer be with him in the hospital. His nave is Dave if you wish to add him to your thoughts and prayers.

We are going to try to make it this year.  We are staying at the Fort during the week of Labor Day so I am not sure we will be able to do both.  We want to be there.  I hate we missed this past year.

I hope you all can make it. We missed you last year.

Ok I was really confused. So I just now looked online at the Fort website. Was not available for the dates I needed. I changed my check out date to a day earlier and it was available.

I called Disney back got to keep my same dates don't have to change anything and saved 56.74. So not really sure why I was told I couldn't do this before but I'm happy!

Glad you were able to get the savings.

Okay... route is finally finished and necessary reservations, made ;)  Wish I could figure out how to get one of those online maps to work (one that holds this many stops); still working on that.  I can tell you that we'll be gone almost 8 weeks and travel almost 7000 miles.  Here's what we've got (starting at home in the Atlanta area of Georgia.. a couple of quick overnight/dry camping spots not mentioned).  Most of these stops are 2/3 nights

    • Creation Museum in KY
    • Driving through Indianapolis (we may stop at the science museum)
    • Springfield, IL to visit Lincoln Presidential library and museum
    • State Park in SD to visit Sioux Falls and surrounding area
    • DeSmet, SD to visit the Laura Ingalls homestead (we'll also stop by the Corn Palace)
    • Fort Lincoln SP in ND
    • Theodore Roosevelt Nation Park in ND
    • Saint Mary's Campground, East Glacier National Park, MT
    • Banff National Park, Canada
    • Moses Lake, Wa (parent live there, we'll be there a week)
    • Mt. Vernon, Wa (I'm from the Skagit Valley and my brothers are still there)
    • Medford, OR (family reunion)
    • Bandon, OR (while we're here, we'll day trip up to see the Sea Lion caves and down to visit Redwood National)
    • Crater Lake National NP
    • Jackson Hole, WY
    • Grand Tetons NP
    • Yellowstone NP
    • Mt. Rushmore and surrounding area
    • Oklahoma City (back down to visit the science museum... thanks for that initial recommendation, Ray ^_^)
    • Little Rock, AK
    • Back to GA

    We're leaving after Memorial Day....

Just a warning when you travel through SD cell service is very spotty. I had Verizon when we traveled there and at least had some (very limited service). Steve at the time had TMobile and had no service at all. While visiting the Mount Rushmore and surrounding area I highly recommend this tour. My penny pinching husband said it was by far the best money he ever spent on a trip. https://mountrushmoretours.com/mount-rushmore-sightseeing-tours/mount-rushmore-sightseeing-tour-package/

Oh and I know you don't have it on your schedule, but the zoo in Omaha is truly amazing. Yes it is pricey, but so worth it. I know you mentioned you had a zoo in Atlanta. This zoo blows even the famous San Diego zoo away in my opinion and I have been to both.
