  1. Thanks for everyone's help. We ended up not camping. We decided to go to our cabin in North Carolina the week before and spend time with family. He surgery he was having could of been pretty bad. So we wanted to have a good week before we left. The surgery went well. The surgery ended up being the first of its kind. It was pretty amazing. He hasn't been in a wheelchair in a month. So pretty happy. Can't wait to go to the fort to try his legs out there. Thanks again for everyone's help for our Boston trip and Baltimore trip.
  2. Haven't went to Baltimore yet. Leaving on June 30th. Heading to North Carolina for the fourth to spend time with family before the trip then heading over there he has surgery on the 8th
  3. Lol.mthats exactly what I kept saying every time we passed the ravens stadium. Look kids Big Ben. Lol. Yeah we actually think back about that night, even though it was only a couple months ago, it still seems so long ago. Especially after the months we have been having. We keep saying maybe someone was trying to tell us to stop there. That day was crazy the night before we stopped at south of the border and all night there was a problem with electric connection so alarms kept going off in the camper. So we got up and fixed it, but didn't get much sleep. Then we tried to fill up with propane t
  4. Thank you guys for all the info. I will be looking into the ones mentioned. We will have a car also. Just don't know about 45 minute drive. My son will be admitted for the week and I will be staying with him, and don't know how the wife will feel about a 45 minute drive. On the driving through Baltimore with a camper, I have already experienced this unfortunately. It's kind of a funny story so I will tell it. Our last medical trip was to Boston over spring break. It was my wife, son, my parents and myself. As we were driving through Baltimore we never realized that here would be a tunnel. So
  5. Our next trip for aour medical journey begins. We have to travel to Baltimore for my son to have a procedure. We will be there for a week or two. At the least. My son will be admitted for a portion of the first week. We are wondering who has any information on campgrounds close to Johns Hopkins for a motorhome. At least this time we aren't driving to boston in the winter. Thanks for the info in advanced everyone.you guys were such a big help last time.
  6. Thanks for the prayers. Sorry I dropped off the face of the earth without any updates. We made it up and back from boston. Were back at home now but continue to travel. He has a rare medical condition that uses different hospitals throughout the country. So lots of travels in our future. Thanks again for all the prayers.
  7. Thank you everyone. For the tips and prayers. We ended up in canoe river campground with the camper this afternoon. We just needed a landing point. They only have electric now, but it will work. We actually are staying in the city and my parents stayed out with the camper. Luckily we have it because it looks like we also might have to hit Columbia in New York and Johns Hopkins on this trip. What a long drive and temperature change. I have to say one of the coolest things we've done is we stopped at liberty harbor campground. Pulled in at about 1230 am last night what a view. Campground only h
  8. Stitch fan are you a pediatric RN at mass general. That's where we're going. Thank you also for the info on rooms. We definitely want to be close to the hospital.
  9. That's awesome. Printing that little checklist.
  10. It is truly a brotherhood, but I hate to impose and I know when you get into cities the stations don't have a lot of parking. However tonight a fellow firefighter down here was going to start calling up there about that. We would just hate to impose on them and if we could find parking somewhere close we wouldn't want to do that. We are trying to figure this out without calling in favors or inconveniencing anyone. We did get a hold of one campground, they said we could stay there and hook up to power, but sewer would be questionable, and not water hookup. Only electric. Which might be our choi
  11. As for parking at someone's house, don't worry about that. My wife has family about three hours away so if we had to we could park it there and rent a car for the last three hours. We just were wondering about parking in Boston, I'm sure it's probably tough to find the parking for anything like this. The trip could be anywhere from ten days to 3 months. That's the hardest part.
  12. Thank you everyone. The campers main goal is for transport. If we could find an open campground just to set it up in case we can use it that's just a plus. Thanks everyone. I knew I could count on the fiends. They always are quick to help anyone.
  13. Sorry if the last post seemed snarky. I re read it, and we are kind of in crunch rush mode as we just found out this afternoon around 430 and we have to leave by Friday morning
  14. We personally own a large tt and it's a freight leaner motor home. Me and my wife owned a class a but went to tt. Also I drive large fire engines for a living so handling the rig isn't really the problem. Except for ice. We have driven in snow quite a bit as my wife family lives in upstate New York. The question kind of is the storing of the camper up there and the campgrounds. We actually are debating this for the ease of the travel with our son who has a spinal cord issue. So the issue is comfort. And if he has the operation on the cord the comfort in the way back. Once were there most likel

  16. We live in Florida. Our son has come down with a serious medical condition that needs to be treated in Boston. We got the news today that we have to be in Boston by Monday. So little last minute rush trip that we have have to be there for an extended period of time. It will be 5 of us traveling and due to the last minute plans around st. Patricks day and spring breaks. Airfares are gonna be crazy. So we decided to get together and consider taking a motor home. This might be silly, but is this even realistic. I'm a 4 the generation Floridian so traveling and camping up there this time a year i

  18. Also I agree with tcd. A couple years ago we wanted to do both New Year's Eve shows. Disney and Epcot. We did mk on the 30th and they had magic hours after the firework show. The fireworks were awesome and crowds were light. The next day, New Years, we hung around campground snuck a nap in and went to Epcot around 830 or 9 . We got lucky and got in. We had never been there on New Years and it was packed. We immediately decided to not try and push anything and just has fun. We found a booth over by canada serving drinks and got on a small hill across from the lake. It wasn't a lot of people pus
