My brother and sister-in-law are planning to come visit us at FW when we are there for Christmas. Will he have problems getting thru the gate?
Make sure he has your site number and gives them your name as the lead guest. Should be ok from there as long as its not New Years Eve.

Is this right in the middle between Trails End and the Settlement? I am so heartbroken to see all these changes. I am so glad our trip is next December. But it still will never be the same.
It's more between the Golf Cart parking in front of Trails End and the Trading post. It's right up agains the golf cart parking side.

I fall in between you two. I don't think Smuggler's Run is awful- but it's not anywhere near my favorite ride. The masses seem to agree, as wait times have been very low for what was supposed to be a blockbuster attraction.
I hope that you both get to ride ROTR soon. The big problem I see is that there are so many components to the attraction, and it relies so much on technology, that it is bound to have problems operating efficiency. That was and still is a problem with FOP.

The bus conversion pulls into the Fort Dec 23. DHS is Dec 24. 😄

Do you think its better than Star Tours? Not the que....just the actual ride.
Yes. For me it is currently my favorite ride at Disney. Star Tours is a fun ride but I love the interactivity of Smugglers.

I'm glad RoTR is good, because Smugglers Run pretty much sucks IMO.
I have to disagree with you. I absolutely love Smugglers Run. Ridden it over a dozen times so far.

Last time we stayed at FQ, we were told that security controls the parking fees, not the resort. So it seems that when you check in with a vehicle and they see you have a reservation, you get a parking fee added to your total.
Not certain that is true as I have had several clients charged for parking who flew in. They had the charges removed but only because they knew to look for them.
-
I havent had many Cabin clients. I only have a few clients who drive in for hotels and can't think of any that mentioned multiple vehicles. As I said it was just a thought in my head for which I didnt know an answer. Glad to have your first hand knowledge to add for potential future questions. Thanks!
-
Totally off the wall question and I am assuming the answer is no but if they park the trailer at the cabin would they charge them a parking fee for it?

As we all know, rules are malleable at the Fort.
Things are crazy in late December. I think they'll let a small utility trailer be parked at a cabin.
TCD
Maybe but I prefer to offer up the rules and if you get better results in a case awesome but I never assume. Also not sure where with a truck and a cart also at the cabin. In between cabins?
-
You will need to put the trailer in the overflow parking. Will only be able to fit the cart and truck at the cabin.

Hello all,
My ADR windows opens on Christmas Eve (early Christmas presents for me!). Last trip we did a ton of character dinners. Kids didn't get as much out of it as we'd hoped and the food didn't necessarily wow us on many of them.
I've decided that for sure we're doing HDDR. We'd really hoped for Mickey's Backyard BBQ (RIP), but since that's not a choice I'm considering Spirit of Aloha. Pawing through the bowels of the site, most of the discussion about SOA is 4+ years old and the reviews are mixed. Has anyone hit SOA recently?
Thanks
My wife and I went a year or so ago and the food had gone way down. Show was still good but just not worth the money to us.

So if I’m understanding correctly, I could arrive at DHS at 8:00am, walk to Galaxys edge and then if I’m lucky get a boarding time that could be, theoretically, at 8:00 pm.
is that correct?I would arrive earlier than that if RotR is a priority for you. Your Boarding group doesnt give you a set time. As they work through a certain number of people per group they are calling the next, via the app with I think a text message/notification or checking within the app. If you get say group 45 you could in theory be called at 8 pm later that day.
-
Seeing reports that they are now limiting it to one boarding group per person now.

Gotcha. Sorry if I missed this... but once your boarding group is called, how long do you wait to actually ride the ride?
Once called you have up to two hours to get to the ride. It willl vary some but I have heard reports of people arriving and being done with the ride in 30-45 minutes. The highly themed queue and ride take about 20 minutes.

So, this is different than a FP?
Yes. No signing up ahead of time. Everyone must be in the park. It’s basically a form of virtual queue. Till the ride dies down some anyway.

Anyone know what the current ride wait time is for Rise of the Resistance? I thought I read about a different type of "sign-up" for ride times on launch day...but could have misunderstood.
They are having people sign up for Boarding groups to ride the ride vs. long waits in line. You must be in a boarding group to ride the ride as of right now. I am sure that will change in the future. Your entire party must be inside the park and then you can use the app to join a boarding group. Then you can even park hop to another park or go back to the Fort while you wait if you wanted to. you ahve up to 2 hours after your group is notified in the app you can come ride. Boarding groups have been running out early. Before 9am and they have expanded the morning hours at DHS through January 2.

I did notice you can no longer request a loop. But they may have made that decision a few years ago as well. We love the 1600 loop. I have a few questions, if someone doesn't mind answering them.
1) Should we still fax?
2) My in-laws are coming this time, so I had plan to fax for their rig as well...with a simple "please put us near our kids" type request. Does that work? Or is there another way to request to be near someone?
3) What number is everyone calling? The main line?
TIA!!
If you have two reservations you request them be linked with a Travel With number by Calling in to Disney Reservations. You can fax that request in as well. This lets them know though you are traveling together and would like to be near each other. This is how I set it up for clients.

We sent a fax and then followed up with a phone call 3 weeks later...they had no knowledge of any fax or site requests from our end.
Faxes have gone to a separate location all along and up until recently were frequently lost if not sent in the last 10 days before arrival. With this new system that went live fairly recently they should be going to the same people who will be handling the online requests but I do not know if they will be visible to the cast members you would get when calling in. The called in ones get logged into the reservation notes. I usually call in for clients as soon as they have a request and fax in the last 5-10 days. With the new system I will probably be pushing that out to 30 days and again in the 5-10 day period.

Where I see the possible issues arising are special requests. A system that has apparently worked well for many years (faxing requests) could be in peril. I'm being told by another travel agent who works the Fort a lot (sorry Jason) that the faxes are being forwarded to the new assignment group. How long will this last??
No worries. I had written on the previous post that word was the faxes were going to be going to this group but I hadnt seen proof of any change yet at that time.
-
I did post something recently about moving to a central clearing house for requests. Must have it all linked together with the assigning as well.

We were at the Fort last week and an "empty" carriage (no passengers in the back) came through the 1300 loop on two separate days... Not sure if they were just out exercising the horse, the carriage and/or the driver, but they were out...
They came through 600 empty a few times Halloween week. I think they were just exercising them.
