Right now we are booked at the fort 10/29-11/08 for Halloween. However I'm wondering if the week before Halloween may have lighter crowd levels. Can any tell me which is typically better?

I never would have imagined bringing a crockpot camping. That is a great idea but where the heck do you find room to store it. I have a hard enough time with what we already bring. As far as our menu goes it's burgers, steak, burgers, pasta salad, & burgers again. But we usually eat out when we are the fort. The fiends are always welcome to come over & eat.

We soak in water for 30 minutes. Then while we are eating the meats the corn cooks to perfection and becomes the 2nd course. Oh what I'd give for some nice sweet corn right now.

Whatever you do. Do not take site 110 as it is rediculously small & has zero privacy as people are right on top of you on all sides. Site #201 is our favorite site out any campground anywhere.

I have always called so that I can get my AAA discount on the site. Except last year I tried going thru AAA & it was such a pain the butt.

ketchup, mustard, onions, lettuce, cheese, tomato, bacon, & again with wickle relish. Toppings on hamburgers are like sex, the more the merrier.

Holy Crap!!!! I heard on the radio this morning fuel price in Orlando a $5.39 a gallon. That would kill my going for sure.

Ok.... I'll bite. What is a Wickle??? The easiest way to describe them is spicy but not really. If you try them you will be addicted for sure. They are after all wickedly delicious. You can find them at any grocery story. http://www.simsfoods.com/products/wickles-relish.html

I like a Deutschmacher hot dog grilled buried in Wickle relish. Wickle relish is a gift from heaven.

Is it at the international gateway?

The fuel prices are definitely making wonder if we will make it to the fort again this November. Last year it took 14 tanks of gas round trip & at $4-6 that will hurt. We will still make plenty of trips into NH & ME. The problem is we talk about how much we want to go to FW everyday so I'm hoping to get a bonus at work this year. Even better yet would be if my sister-in-law would pay me back the few thousand dollars I lent her 3 1/2 years ago. Oh that belongs in the angry thread. In the end we may be forced to slum it at a resort. :rofl2:
