  1. I'm going to work on the images a little more. I'd like them to be a little larger for better viewing.
  2. It takes me awhile :rofl2: But, I am finally learning my way around this new computer...I couldn't have done it without everyones help! Thanks Everyone :rofl2:
  3. I think it will take me too long to figure it all out. I'm sending the pictures to Chris and hopefully he can change the size so they'll fit. Wait until you see the ticket prices...and at that time, the only park was the Magic Kingdom.
  4. Its telling me my files are too large...is there a way to make them smaller?
  5. I finally resolved my scanner issues. I reinstalled the software (and I did have to get updates from HP for win 7) and it started working. I think the first time we installed it we were having dueling firewall problems which probably blocked part of the installation. I've already tried once to upload the images, but I don't know where they went. I'm going to try again.
  6. I think I'll try reinstalling the printer software, and if that doesn't work...I'll have to call Bridgit (my computer tech) back. She's going to make a fortune off of me and this new computer. I actually used to be very competent with all things technological...but those days are long gone! :bump2:
  7. I found some really neat stuff on Fort Wilderness from 1976 which I would like to share. I thought my problem would be uploading the pictures, but instead I have other problems. We just bought a new computer with Windows 7, 64 bit and for some reason I"m not able to scan. This new stuff is great in alot of ways, but very frustrating in basic functions.) Going through my in-laws stuff, I found a welcome package from Fort Wilderness 1976...including the welcome newspaper. At that time, the only park was Magic Kingdom. I'll move my old computer so I can scan these images and then I'll try
  8. I've been told you don't want to be in the Mount Rushmore area during the Harley Rally which I think is in August. We've been caught in Galveston before in a Harley Rally and it was crazy. The rally in Sturgess is supposed to be alot crazier than that one. But then again, we have friends who go every year...but if you're not into that, I would work my travel dates around it. It's on the calender for South Dakota. Are you starting out in San Antonio or will that be your first stop?
  9. We went to Hawaii about 10 years ago and as far as we were concerned it lived up to all the hype. We absolutely loved it. We spent a few days on Oahu and then went to Maui. If its still there, you should eat at Mama's Fish House. We tried to drive the road to Hana, but we all got carsick about 5 minutes into the trip. Turned around and recuperated at Mama's Fish House. We rode bicycles down Haleakema (sp?)...you looked over the clouds. Spectacular! We did a helicopter tour and still have the video of our friend crying through the whole thing. We even went to the nude beach! We had a great trip
  10. Has your new machine come yet? I'm excited for you....my machine was the best toy I ever bought. I use it all the time.
  11. This is what I remember about coral snakes..."red and yellow, kill a fellow" "red and black, friend of Jack" thats how we were taught the difference between a coral snake (poisonous) and I can't remember the other kind. Maybe a hognose? There were lots of snakes where we grew up. I'm sorry, but we still kill the poisonous ones. And just if your curious, rattlesnakes will swim in salt water.
  12. I don't go on the boards everyday, so you were all gone before I knew anything had happened. I'd been looking for your new site for a couple of weeks before I finally found you. I'm not good at chitchat or light hearted banter but I enjoy reading and following all the threads and seeing all the familiar names. I do post on occasion when I think I can add something and I love your new site. I'm looking forward to putting names and faces together on the 4th!
  13. That one looks nice. Check the Brother website and see if they offer any more accessories, I know they have free embroidery downloads. There are several good websites that sell aftermarket hoops and I think Brother is one of the brands they make extra hoops for. Of course, they don't make one for my machine...but I have successfully rehooped to cover a larger area and the finished product turned out very nice. Doodlebug, I know what you mean! I am always biting off more than I can chew with my embroidery machine. I've made embroidered bags for every club we're in and now I'm hiding.
  14. You'll really like one that hooks to your computer with a usb cord it will give you alot more freedom in downloading embroidery files. Some features to look for are different sized hoops, you really need at least two. Mine has two hoops, a 5 x 7 and a smaller one but I wish I could use a larger hoop on my machine. What I do like about my machine is that I can use any embroidery format for stitching and it came with software that lets me use any font on my computer for lettering and do some simple digitizing. My automatic threader is not as good as the Brother machine but it works fine for me
  15. I have a Singer Futura and the best advice I can give you is just get in there and play with it. Stitch up everything that came with your machine...thats the best way to learn your machine. It should have come with preloaded Disney designs, so thats a good place to start. I always go cheap when I buy something big, but my dh talked me into buying a thread set and a stabilizer collection. I didn't want to spend the money, but he was right. I had everything I needed to learn and play with my new machine. Once you start using it, you're going to love it.
  16. He doesn't dilute the wine. He covers the greens with wine and lets them simmer. The alcohol cooks out and leaves a good flavor. He got the idea from Justin Wilson who used to cook on tv...many, many years ago.
  17. Our yorkies are not good travelers and these are the first dogs we've had that do not travel well. What seems to work pretty well with them is...we don't feed them before we start a trip and they travel in small carriers in the car or motorhome. We take them out about every 3 or 4 hours for a walk and they go back inside the carriers for traveling. I' ve tried some of the travel anxiety medicines, but they didn't seem to help my dogs. We won't go without them, so we had to find something.
  18. I take mine out every 2 hours, they tinkle, they bark at "Hot Jack" next door...they fight over "Hot Jack" and then they come in and poop on the throw rug. It doesn't seem to matter how long we stay outside ( and we have a doggy door) they still come inside and finish unfinished business. They are now seven years old, so the odds are they're not going to change.
  19. Try cooking them in white wine! They're the best collard greens we've ever had. My husband sautes bacon and onion, cuts the greens into smaller pieces and adds to the pot, then he adds the white wine and simmers them until they're tender. He usually adds jalapenos also, but we add those to everything.
