  1. We probably did drive as much you. You might have driven alittle farther than us. Our grandkids are 4 and 9, they enjoyed the Pirate League but they loved the Pirate Adventure which I'll write about tomorrow.
  2. Later that day, we went to the Magic Kingdom (what were we thinking!) because the kids had an appointment at the Pirate League for pirate make up, etc. I'm not sure I like the look. By rladams at 2011-07-14 Check out the scar. By rladams at 2011-07-14 Here's our little princess...I must say, I really liked the Bibbidi Bop Boutique better. By rladams at 2011-07-14 By the way, this is when Amanda earned the title "Piratazzi" so dubbed by the Pirates at the Pirate League. What better way to end the day than at the campfire, roasting marshmallows and eating S'Mores! By rladams at 2011-07-14 N
  3. By rladams at 2011-07-14 Fourth of July...WooHoo! We have beads, candy and a patriotic spirit. We're ready to roll! By rladams at 2011-07-14 By rladams at 2011-07-14
  4. By rladams at 2011-07-14 Here's Louis getting a kiss from Minnie. Pretty soon we'll have a whole scrapbook full of him and Minnie!
  5. By rladams at 2011-07-14 Allie and Colton on the monorail. I'll post some more pictures this afternoon. Is there a limit to how many I can post? Now that I've figured it out, its like unleashing a monster. I have flipped that picture 4 times..I give up.
  6. Sunday July 3 and we’re headed to Epcot. Colton had his first monorail ride and he was so excited. We got to the park early ( for us) and headed right over to Soarin. The wait time was 40 minutes , so we decided to stand in line and save our fast passes for something else. Amanda has an app on her phone which tells her which parks are red dot or green dot days. I think this was a green dot day. We managed to ride the Nemo ride, Ellens Energy Adventure, Spaceship Earth (I’m sure I have some of the names wrong) and Test Track. We headed back to the campground to do a little loopin and to rest f
  7. We could write a book about Colton's adventures (he's a daredevil and very creative...as we've found out several times already, but thats a whole other topic). We love the barbeque... there's plenty of food..chicken, ribs, corn on the cob, beans, coleslaw, watermelon, corn bread, ice cream bars and beer and wine for the adults. Mickey, Minnie and Goofy come out and visit and dance with the kids. It was alot more orderly than in the past. The guy who does the roping is really good and the band is good too. Your not packed in so tight that you feel like you can't get up without bothering everyon
  8. July 2 – Louis and I are too tired to go to any parks (remember the late night that kicked our butts) but Amanda and the kids went to Animal Kingdom and had a great time. She’s not sure if it was the weather or if they added more animals, but the animal viewing was fantastic that day. Colton was most excited about getting to ride on a real bus! While they were gone, we tried to solve the problem of all my overloaded circuits. I had too many lights, appliances, etc and not enough extension cords. After digging around for about an hour, I finally found all my heavy duty extension cords which so
  9. Shot at 2011-07-14 You'll start seeing a theme with Louis and the characters...Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I wonder who really wants to go to Disney World every year! Obviously, I'm figuring out the picture thing.
  10. Shot at 2011-07-14 Here's Colton at the Crystal Palace ith Tigger.
  11. The report continues...probably without pictures, unless I can finally figure out how to download them. It's so hard being technically challenged! July 1 was our first day at the park. I sent Louis, Amanda and the kids to Magic Kingdom while I stayed to do the laundry…all alone. It was a great morning! That’s when I found out about the great change machine robbery! There were Disney police everywhere…taking pictures and exchanging notes..very exciting! I took the boat over to the Magic Kingdom and met the family at the Crystal Palace for our first character lunch. We stayed another hour aft
  12. :rofl2: We did make the rope drop..it was our first time ever! I might point out that none of you guys where ever around when we were at home. It became a game with the grandkids to see if we could ever catch any fiends at their campsites. LOL :rofl2:
  13. We have had bad encounters with toads in the past. They may not all be deadly, but they are all toxic and cause extreme reactions in dogs. Our lab always managed to find these things on the weekend when our vet was out of town. I know there are poisonous snakes in Florida, but you kind of get that lull of false security at Disney. We are constantly vigilant about snakes at home...but not at disney. The rain must have washed them out and we'll certainly watch much more carefully on our next trip. Thanks for the heads up.
  14. I'm so glad you all came out alright. We crate our dogs in the car and the motorhome for that very reason. Again, I can't tell you how glad I am that you both walked away from this accident. We have had two family members that had similar accidents that weren't quite so lucky. Not life threatening, buy serious injuries.
  15. I felt so sorry for all those people. What an awful way to end your day at Disney to come home to that.
  16. There were at least two awnings in the 900 loop and a couple in every loop we checked on. We were lucky because we had dropped one side of our awning, but we didn't put it up. That was a bad storm that came through.
  17. We were in and out. You guys were usually out when we were in. I'm sorry we missed you too. The grandkids kept us so busy we didn't have much down time. We think the next time we come, we're not going to the parks. We just want to hang out at the campground....but we did alot of really cool things this trip.
  18. Yes, he goes by Louis. All the first born males in the family are named Robert and they all go by their middle names. Southern traditions, what can I say? We had trouble getting up and going early, but we were gone most of the time.. Kim caught us the One day we actually managed to get everyone up early and dressed early enough to reach a park at opening time! Then, we never saw her again.
  19. TURN OUT THE LIGHTS, THE PARTYS OVER!! But what a great party it was! We left Texas on June 27 and arrived at Ft. Wilderness on Thursday, June 30th. One mishap on the way, but I’ll tell you about that in a minute. We started with a large group..me (Princess Nana – Karen), Louis (Pops and my husband), DIl..Amanda, Allie (granddaughter) , Colton ( grandson) and 3 dogs. My son had to work (works offshore) and my friend Cheryl had to restart cancer treatments (but we’re bringing her at Christmas). This was our first long trip in our “new to us” motor home. Our first full night out (8 hours driving
  20. The change machine was ripped off the wall and stolen. I was washing clothes when security came in and started taking pictures. It made for an exciting morning on the loop. It shook our sense of security so we were alittle more careful about locking up on this trip.
  21. Thanks for the input. Its time for me to make a decision and this has helped. I might try it this time.
  22. I'm sure this has already been covered here, but I can't find it. Pros and Cons of online check in...do you like it or do you prefer checking in at the gate or the front desk and why?? Thanks in advance!
  23. We're going to spend one night at Parker's Landing RV Park in Biloxi. I have no prior knowledge of it, except it is easy on and easy off I 10, it was recommended in the Big Rigs Campground Book and it has a swimming pool for the grandkids. I always look at the campgrounds on Google Earth before I commit, because I have picked some extremely bad campgrounds in the past. If this one is alright, then we'll also stay there on our way home.
  24. You can watch the sells and get t-shirts,etc. for pretty good prices and embellish them yourself. You can actually cut out any emblem or letter you want and use fabric glue, patch glue or stitch witchery to apply it to the fabric. Then, if the edges are rough, you can use hot fix crystals or glitter fabric paint. My dil bought cheap flip flops and made big bows in the team colors and glued them on. Everybody wanted a pair after she did that. I did notice on the mom shirts, that someone was selling them, but alot of the moms made their own unique shirts also. There are alot of good sources on t
  25. Unfortunately most of the little girls will have all that stuff. From my experience with my dil (who doesn't have as much money as the other moms), its alot of competition between the moms. Now, that being said...my granddaughter loves it. My dil buys a few of the things (mainly to figure out how they did it) and then she goes to the craft store. You can buy everything you need at a good craft store such as Joann's Fabric or Hobby Lobby. The megaphone cutout might be from one of those cricut machines, but the jeweled sayings can be bought or put on in any pattern with individual hot fix stones
