  1. On our first long trip in our pop up, many, many years ago...We took our kids and our yorkie, B.J. camping in Colorado. We wanted to take the train from Durango to Silverton, but we couldn't leave our dog alone in the camper. We knew he would get out .. He was a Houdini! So we hired a babysitter for the dog...we could barely afford to go on vacation..and yet, we scraped together enough money to pay the babysitter. At that time, you had to pay for hot water in the showers, so...we all took cold showers...but the dog didn't get out and we all had a good time, including the dog.
  2. Those look great. This could add a whole new dimension to our "Drinking our way Around the World" theme. I haven't checked out your review of "La Cava del Tequila" yet, but good tequila is our favorite. Your food and spirit reviews are great!
  3. Will they be able to come to the fort to do repairs? We haven't had our "new to us" used motorhome very long, so we anticipate a few things breaking while we're at the Fort for the 4th of July.
  4. My yorkies ride in soft sided carriers. These are the first dogs we've had that are not good travelers but being in the carriers seems to keep them calmer on any trip. If they're not in their carriers they absolutely hyperventilate. Drives us crazy. We usually stop about every three hours and take them out on their leashes.
  5. Thanks for the info. We may need it this summer...this will be our first long trip in this "new to us" motorhome. My worst fears are AC troubles in July.
  6. Going to the Fort will be our big trip this year, despite the price of diesel. We figure we don't have too many years left with our grandkids where they will still think we're fun so we don't want to miss out on anything. But, we are not bringing our tow car or our golf cart. We don't need extra transportation while we are at the fort and we can rent a golf cart (off site) cheaper than hauling everything with us.
  7. I'll make a sign for our cart, too. I'm going to check out the price of beads at Oriental Trading, I've been buying mine from mardigrasimports.com for the last couple of years. Isn't it kind of sad that a patriotically decorated cart never wins the 4th of July Golf Cart Parade??? Although, I did enjoy the circus train a couple of years ago and the pirate ship last year!
  8. Thanks! I've got lots of beads, but I need to stock up on candy.
  9. Are you still allowed to hand out candy and beads during the parades and what day do you think they'll actually have the parade? I know in the past its been on Saturday, not neccessarily the actual 4th of July. Thanks, Karen
  10. I have my grandkids, age 4 and 9 booked for the pirate league and the pirate adventure out of the Grand Floridian. My DIL is a little worried about her baby, but he is super excited and his big sister will be with him. Right now, they're more concerned that their pirate hair and make up won't be perfect for the Pirate Adventure. My grandson is so excited he keeps telling everyone he's going to Disney World in 5 days to be a pirate. We're not going until the end of June.
  11. He quoted me 320.00 for a week. Sounded good to me and we have a big group coming.
  12. Obviously, I'm having trouble uploading my files. Sorry.
  13. Here's a couple I found...I haven't tried it yet.
  14. We have reserved a six passenger cart for our Fourth of July trip with Steve. He sounded real nice on the phone and I did read some positive reviews on him at "that other place."
  15. I've sent all my pictures to Chris and he's going to post the rest of them. He'll do a much better job than me and give you something you can actually read. I hate being this technologically challenged!
  16. It won't let me upload any more pictures right now. I'll try again later and I'll try to resize the first 6 so they're easier to read.
