  1. Cooking more - eating out much less. A bit of a PITA since I get home at 6pm exhausted, but trying to stockpile as much homemade stuff on the weekends as possible. Lunches are a biggie - $4-$7 bucks most days X 2 people adds up in a hurry! Last night I spent 2 hours making homemade soup/stock and cutting up a ton of veggies for salads. In the gas dept., timing is right now that spring has *finally* arrived, to park the Navigator and uncover and start driving the little old 4-cyl Mustang. The behemoth will only be used for towing pretty much until next winter. That ought to cut our gas bud
  2. Problem is that everyone pulling up likely has a license, and they can say pretty much anything - true or not.
  3. Unless it's supercrazyjampacked, you'll find a place to park it. I've seen plenty parked up at the Outpost bus depot. The ones I've spotted at the marina are usually parked over to the far right where there's a bit more room (vs right along the walkway) You didn't say where you were planning to rent from, so just in case... Disney has only 4 person carts, same with Kenny/Tee Time (off site rental). There are 2 off-site rental companies that Fiends have recommended - one delivers, one does not. All the contact info is up in the FAQ thread.
  4. We note our loop request on our reservation. Then 4-5 days prior to check in we send a very pleasant fax and give them our top 3-5 choices for sites, including *why* we want them (in our case it's mostly because it's easier with the dogs). We're 3 for 3 so far. Last year we got our #2 choice. Keep in mind that when you check in matters. If it's a busy day or time of year, it's going to be harder for them to meet specific requests. Prevailing wisdom is that if you give them what you want in a site (location, etc.) you have better luck of getting what you want. For instance last year, our #1 c
  5. It's as you actually walk through the castle. If you're walking from the hub through towards Fantasyland, just after you pass under the castle gate, look up. These snazzy sconces are on the wall.
  6. This is our entertainment setup.... We camped with my brother and SIL last summer. My 18 mos nephew was getting cranky until we wheeled his stroller over and parked him in front of the mutts, who were racing around with their toys and water jugs like lunatics. Kept the little guy happy for a solid hour! 2 years before the dogs were racing around in the a.m. on the sand pad on long lines. Our neighbors 4 kids were lined up along the edge of their site sitting on the ground eating their cereal watching "the dog show!" who needs video??
  7. Depends. Some of the homeopathic stuff relies on building up enough in the system to work. Some are more concentrated and intended to use incidentally (like Rescue Remedy)
  8. We've used this for our wacky BCs over the years... We've used it for general anxiety (Brady took it daily for years) and for incidental anxiety (t-storms, etc.) Trick is giving it far enough ahead of time - which for thunderphobia might mean watching the weather. It generally doesn't do a whole lot if you give it after the dog is already getting anxious. But all dogs are different and your mileage may vary. Cheapest price I've found is here http://vitanetonline.com/
  9. We're pretty much always on 300 - preferred loop, decent sized coquina pad. We put a mat inside and outside the door, and those stair wrap astro-turf things on the steps. Still swept shells and cypress needles out of the TT every. single. day. This year we're taking the long mat (9'x20') and covering as much of the coquina as we can. I'd rather walk on paved pad than track pounds of that into the camper. ...or you could just pay extra for Premium and no shells. :rofl2:
  10. :rofl2: Gotta thank you all - this post has been invaluable in working on the History content for the new site. But I know you people know more stuff - let's hear/see it!
  11. Nice! I smell a new thread "The Feet of Walt Disney World" ooohhh... smell, might be a poor choice of words.
  12. Only thing cooler than an elephant butt is one next to a baby elephant!
