Will Rick be sleeping until Midnight? 🕛 :P

On a random weekday morning,  I bet I can get in and out of Star Wars before 7am with a 6am park opening (one attraction) (IF I'm at the turnstyles by 5am), out of Toy Story land by 8am, and then ToT and RnRC by 9:30. The tricky part will be getting a bus BACK to the Fort that early, but can always bus to the MK, then boat over to the Fort. We'll still have time for breakfast at Trails End  🙂

I am prepping my new printable maps as they released the updated ones today with the removal of the in parks smoking areas. In case anyone is wondering. Here is where they are now at the parks.

MK Smoking area- By the junction of the second and third bus loops.
EPCOT Smoking- International Gateway across from the boat dock. As facing Spaceship Earth from just before the ticket booths all the way to the far left.

DHS- Walkway to the boat dock.

AK- As entering the parks to the far left of the ticket booths.

They had a perfectly nice smoking area outside the park on the path to nowhere just past the Poly/GF boat loading area. I hope they didn't do away with that one.

So DH found a leftover 2018 one of these at a dealer up in VT a month or so ago...

    https://www.keystonerv.com/travel-trailers/premier/floorplans/24rkpr-travel-trailer/

The floorplan totally works for us as we'd just take the table/chairs out and install the crates and a new bar. Nothing to tear out or heavily "modify" - and DH still gets his bar.  🙂

With opposing slides we're betting the living space feels at least as large as what we have now - not a bad thing with two 35 lbs dogs that, even at 12+ years old are still far from couch potatoes.

Unfortunately after some back and forth with the dealer, they couldn't meet the price we needed to come in at. (sigh)

So we resigned ourselves to keeping what we have and then a week ago DH gets a text from the salesman that the "factory offered some new incentives" and they CAN meet our price and trade-in value.  What?! My guess is what that really means is that "we can't move a leftover somewhat-unpopular model (because there's no dinette it technically only sleeps 4) and we  want it off the lot."

So... we're making the hike up north Saturday to check it out.  We're trying not to get our hopes up, as we've never actually seen this one in person, but we're hopeful it shakes out. If it does the timing would be pretty perfect as we still haven't uncovered the one we have.

Good luck!! Does that particular unit have the theater seats?

I would love to Eric but every year I am running back and forth for baseball and with the girls playing volleyball now I would be gone all day Saturday and if they have a tournament that weekend it would be all day Saturday and Sunday. It kinda screwed me last year for some reason none of them had anything that weekend but it was too late. If the same happens this year I may run up for the day Saturday.

Are folks going to come down for Labor Day again this year? We may want to plan a Grand Gathering at Texas T for that weekend 🙂

Hmmm,  so there aren't any quiet spots available in EPCOT, or did the quiet corner at the Beach Club happen to be near  oh just a wild guess BEACHES and CREAM?

Well since I didn't have any headphones with me, I really did need a quiet corner. I found a spot way back on one of the walkways near some guestroom patios.

Thank you all for joining in and patiently waiting for the update. I apologize that it has taken me so long to get back to this report.

So, Friday started off late and slow for most of us. Not for Sarah though she had an early morning flight and before we knew it she was at the Outpost. Marty took off on the golf cart to pick her up. Gretchen was going t be joining us for the weekend as well and would be heading over today. Jen had gotten on the road at some point Friday morning.  Aside from Kelly and I having booked some Fastpasses for Soarin that day, as per WWW bylaws there were no plans. Late morning Kelly and I headed over to Epcot.

We made our way over to Soarin and got in the Fastpass line.

After that, we headed over to the World Showcase. When in the World Showcase one must do what the World Showcasians do. So we did.

Marty and Sarah caught up with Kelly and me in Mexico.

At some point, Jen made it to Epcot to and after stopping to pick up these joined us too.

Did I mention we were in Mexico?

Following our visit to Mexico,  Kelly decided to head off by herself for a bit.  I am not sure where she went, but from the looks of this, it was somewhere that required her to ride the monorail.

That's the thing about WWW everything is so flexible. It's like a being on a retreat.

We met up with Carol and rode Frozen Ever.

As you saw it was the Festival of the Arts while we were here so here are some pictures relating to the Festival itself.

Those chalk artists are really talented. Unfortunately, during our time in Epcot, I had to make a side trip over to the Beach Club and find a quiet corner to listen to a conference call. I was able to join back later.

  7. You know, as much as it should bother me, it really doesn't. We LOVE evening EMH, because we are NOT early risers, but we're having to face the fact that we're no longer night owls either. Several times lately, we've booked late afternoon FP+, then dinner, then have every intention of going back for late EMH, well by the time dinner is over, we're ready for the recliner back at the camper, with the intention of going back out later, then another Fiend pops by, then we're running our mouths, and the drinks at the camper are there, then....... well you see how that goes 🙂

The first time my nephew saw Illuminations with the holiday ending he was 9 and looked at me after it was over with his eyes as huge as can be and patting his chest he said, "I could feel it in here!!!!"

and believe it or not, it was toned down some over the years. The first year I heard it, I was at the Fort, and "felt it in here". I've heard from CMs, the first year, they were breaking things they were so powerful. When I saw it in Epcot later that trip, it was ....... just wow......... incredibly powerful.... and Walter Cronkite, what can I say 🙂

  9. For us it's a combination of 3 weeks leave a year, plus lots of comp time, plus willingness to work remotely while on vacation. I probably spend at least 2 hours each morning of my vacation answering emails, and taking care of some of my work. We are not early getting out the door, hubby is still snoozing, so I get up, sit in my recliner under the awning and get it done. The time I spend in the morning does not diminish our vacation in any way.

  10. It was funny, when we went to breakfast on Sunday, we took the Orange/Purple bus from Outpost to Settlement and the group camping area was full. (Our reservation was at 10, we went through the area on the bus about 9:45).

When we took the Orange/Purple bus through there about 11:30 after breakfast, the entire area was completely empty except for Cast Members doing some cleaning. That entire crew packed up and left quickly!!

  11. Also, your rate may actually go down. 2020 rates have not actually yet been released, BUT you can book up to 499 days in advance of your checkout. So to protect themselves due to smaller than expected deposits, ALL times of year until the rates are formally established are charged a deposit of the highest rate from the previous year.

Yes, March and Spring Break is one of the most expensive times of year, BUT it may be a bit less than the amount you were given, especially weekday nights.

    Hope this helps.
