There is a little story to tell here....
 
I had been talking to Julia on and off about them being able to make it down to The Fort for Halloween. When it came to the point they were able to come, the accommodations were a little lacking and availability was slim to none. They said it would be fine to throw a tent up with someone, I was thinking... could you imagine a infant in a tent with bad weather for a weekend!? So I got to digging and found a cabin (with my discount) for a great price. Great price, but out of my budget. So knowing how much the fiends wanted to see our littlest Fiend, I got busy with the texting! And I am very happy to say that with the Fiends helping Fiends and some generous donations from the few Private Individual Fiends i contacted, We made the goal for the desired amount!!!
 
So, J&J+C Adventuring will be my guest in a Cabin for the Weekend!!!!  :jumpforjoy

I'm in. Never fast enough to grab a picture but I love seeing what you're up to and reading the comments that our Fiends come up with. :)

Of course, I also wanted South Florida's team to be named the Snowbirds after all of the tourists that arrive every winter.  Our logo could have been a Quebec license plate.
 
My second favorite name was the Humidity.  That would have been appropriate and a nice pairing with the Heat.

Yeah, and I get to watch her eat fries.  Nobody can make fries look more delicious than her.

Mike and Cherie. You are a wonderful example of what a true FrIEND is all about. You and the others who blessed Jason and Sil, not just delivering the pup but blessing them with the gift of friendship. Thanks to all of you guys involved in this endeavor for reminding me what it means to be a friend. God bless you all.

This is it folks. The last leg of our journey. 
Again on this day we had beautiful weather and light traffic with an added bonus of some beautiful scenery. We arrived at Jason and Sil's at 3:15. Sil was so cute. She kept repeating, Thank you so much....welcome to our home. I think she repeated it about 5 times until I started to giggle. They were both just a little excited. :)

Jason did a pretty good job of getting Maria set up considering he had never set a PUP up before.
 
And now on to the good stuff. Dinner. It was delicious. 




 
We sat and talked for a little longer after dinner, but we had a few more hours of driving to do yet. So at 7 o'clock we said our goodbyes.
 
Now for a few thoughts. 
What an experience this was. Not only did I get the opportunity to help a Fiend I had a great time doing it. I want to thank everyone who was involved in pulling this off.
Bob and Kathy for having my bedroom ready and coffee that is "to die for". Not to mention a wonderful visit with Rick and Carol. What a fun night that was!I love all you guys!!
 
Lorna and Rich who helped facilitate getting Maria to her new home by giving her a temporary one. Thank you for putting up with us again. If I had to say what my favorite day of our visit was...it had to be "the great lunch caper". Tim, Sheila, Gary, Marilyn and Missy I was so happy to see all of you and can't wait till Halloween. And a special love ya to my favorite bus driver. Thanks for the ride TJ!
 
They say it takes a village, well in our case it just takes a gaggle of Fiends.  :heartsmiley:

Good morning,Fiends! Looks like another great day for a drive, Partly cloudy and 58 degrees. Overnighted at the Hampton Inn, Woodstock, VA. And yes, I do have "By the Time We Got to Woodstock" Is stuck in my head.  :animated-smileys-character-024:

CT has some.  Maybe after lasagna you could become Dances With Glitter again. 

I'm going to start looking for Indian Reservations. This trip just won't seem complete unless I find myself stranded on one.  :rofl3:

We are in Virginia. Too dark for pictures which is really sad for you cause you won't see Fancy Gap. But really great for me cause I can't see it either!

We had a great weekend, and I am already missing them.
We were the only ones on bus, how cool was that. There was someone on the bus giving the drive a hard time, wonder who that could have been. Promblem is the driver gave it right back and scared the you-know-what out of that passenger.

I always have good intentions but the gabbing seems to get the best of me. :rofl2:

Safe and sound at Lorna and Rich's. 

We lucked into one on our Preferred site for Oct/Nov.  DH had called back in the spring several times and nothing was available.  He called back a few weeks ago and got us 20% for our entire stay.  :)

Noooooooo I told them that they had to go where Kathy wanted to go because today is about her it isn't about BOB so they are going to O'Charleys
