  1. I like the idea of eaither same day reservations, which would encurage people to get to the park ealier, thus spreading out the crowds. Or Book on day of arrival. That would encurage longer vactions, because you would be able to book more of what you want if you are staying on property for 3 weeks compaired to the guy staying for the weekend. But this fails the big part of what WDW wants the current system. They want you to stay to plan 6m out because you will stick to your reservations even though you might want to change bc of the weather. It also encurage better park utalization by moving

  3. Ok, with that big of a TV, can you park the trailer outside? IF so, save up some more and look at a E3 or another toy hauling popup. That way you will always have space for the kids bikes and a golf cart or a side by sided on the cargo deck. If you could find an E4, then you would have a larg box (12') + Highwall and the largest cargo deck. Found someones pics. http://www.pic2fly.com/2008+Fleetwood+Evolution+E4.html
  4. Do you always camp with hookups? If so, then a Group 24 "deepcycle", which is realy a hybrid between a car starting and a tru deepcycle, will work just fine and is cheep and light. Costco, Sams, ect all have a good price on them.
  5. When someone gets the phone call/text check in with site numbers, can you give me the info. I want to make sure Waze matches what WDW is telling their guests.
  6. That's not such a great idea. Hopefully, this storm will pass and not cause any damage. But, if it hits land and knocks down trees and blows off roofs, and messes up roads, things could be bad. I've lived in the aftermath of a hurricane, and it ain't fun when there's no food or ice in the stores, and no gas at the pumps. And maybe no electricity or running water, and garbage piling up. Nobody knows what could happen. The entire state is still in the cone where possible damage could be done. No one should intentionally travel into a possible hurricane's path. TCD This was
  7. I don't like the stylized images either. I prefer the more standard mickey fase, donalds hat, ect that you see in the gift shops.
  8. To bad the kid and wife is back in school, I would contemplate a run to the fort/wdw for arriving the day after the storm passed.
  9. I wil admit, that I couldn't read the whole aricle and skimmed it too.
  10. The last paragraph is where I see the parks heading now that the "no exp" option is gone. (recap, ticket prcing changing based on historic crowd levels) But, I think the international travel and special events is reducing the need for variable pricing model. It use to be that Sept/ Oct was dead in the park, Now with the MNSSHP, marathons, ect SEPT/OCT crowd levels have increased. International travel to the parks have increased and it targeted for when the USA famlies are back in school. So, If the marketing department can do their job, the variable pricing model is not needed. But gettin
  11. Carol's suggestion sounds the cheapest. With that late of a flight, I wouldn't risk it and have to get a cab to the airport at 11pm. At that point you wouldn't be back to the fort until well after midnight.
  12. The new Coleman popups are made by Livin Lite. http://www.livinlite.com/qs-tentcampers.php Since you are towing with a F150, weight will nto be an issue, have you considered a toyhauler? Somerset is makeing the E3, which gives you a lot of space for taking all of the camping stuff. It also uses ST235/75R15C tires, so you can easily use normal Truck tires and not have to worry about blowouts. You might evn be able to put a golfcart in the truck bed and still tow the popup with the bikes on the cargo deck. http://somersetrv.com/campers/e3/
  13. If you can find a used Coleman/Fleetwood Sun Valley, it has a swing out gallery, which might give you the space you want and the fridge can be loaded when closed. It is rated for the same gvwr as the larger units that have the slide but it has a 1k cargo reading. http://www.americancampersandtrailers.com/pages/fleetwood/fleetwood_americana_sunvalley_2007.htm Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk
  14. Another great forum is http://www.popupportal.com/index.php?action=forum What is your TV? things like slide outs and highwalls add a lot of weight. Usualy when you add a slide, they come with toliet and shower which takes up a lot of space and addes more weight. I have a Coleman Taos, 8ft box. I realy like the Coleman/Fleetwood construction. Don't be concerned about Coleman/Fleetwood not being made anymore, 99% of the parts are available from the part manafatures or Somerset (bought most of the patients). Except for not being able to load the fridge while collapased, I like the Utah layo
  15. I suspect most people are indifferent as to which site they are assigned. I am curious what the email looks like, if it includes directions or just the room/site number like the hotels. Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk
  16. Has the Fort started direct to room / site / cabin check in yet? http://blog.touringplans.com/2015/02/13/direct-room-check-option-coming-walt-disney-world/
  17. Remember way back when the entrance to the Backstage Studio Tour was over in the now Animation Courtyard? It was part of the Backstage Studio Tour, it was one of the sound stages before the tamp ride. http://www.yesterland.com/backstage.html
  18. You would be in prime time traffic going around the DC beltway. There will be a britty big backup/slow down around the Woodrow wilson bridge. If you are looking at Google maps, you can put in your departing time and date to get and expected travel time. At the time you are leaving the expect difference between runnign US301 and I95 is within a few minutes due to the backups on I95.
  19. It will take you longer and you will still have to deal with the backups on the beltway and I-95. You are better off running 301 all the way south. The I-95 express lanes are for cars only. VA has figured out they can make $ now ticketing the people pulling trailers on the express lanes now. I would take US 301S until the US 207 buypass which dumps you on I-95 south of the the express lane slow down. Waze will tell you if it is faster to take I-95 or 295 around Richmond.
  20. I like that WDW announced the extention early. It would be nice if it was a discount off the normal ticket price jsut to simplify things and allow the MWR to reduce the number of different tickets stocked. Unfortunaly, I can't partake anymore, I got out after 10 years.
