We have 2 kids (4y and 2m) and are currently using a popup that was towed behind the 08 Subaru outback and now a 04 Mercury Montery (ford minivan). The next camping trailer/rv is going to be a MH, most likely a Class C. Both the wife and I commute and don't like driving big vehicles in DC traffic. So, if I bought a truck it would be sitting a lot anyways. Trucks also don't have that much room in the cab for the family (borrowed my brothers F150 to test). The full sized vans are great for families and dogs, but the chassis in production are from the 80s and the new Ford Transit does not have

We are going on the Sept21 cruise :wave1:

I was poking around on the disney website and on travelocity and it looks like there are a ton of staterooms still available. The odd thing is that Travelocity shows that alomsot all of the Conceconciegerge rooms are available while the disney website shows none are available.

What time of the year are the Florida drive out deals?

I keep watching ans hoping for the late sept cruise to drop in price. Some of them appear to have alot of rooms available.

I feel that not including the tip i nthe price of the cruise is deceptive pratice. The "tip" needs to be part of the cruise price.

SUPER Cool Unofficial Transportation Map
arthuruscg replied to mouseketab.....Carol's topic in Travel and Transportation
That is the whole reason why I have not touched my paper maps in years now. I hate the garmin/tomtom/ OEM nav systems that do not have any traffic updates or keep the maps automaticaly updated based on current road construction. Example, DC is doing a lot of raod work now and at night, some roads become 1 way. Well, Waze users report the road construction and the lanes being blocked, and everyone benifits. FYI: Google is getting the updates from Waze users. Home in the country, GPS is useless becasue you have to commit to one of the fer fuew road choices, but in DC, it will cut you thru pl -

Google maps, Waze or any good cellphone GPS will direct you the fastest route based on current traffic. Sent from my Moto X using Tapatalk -
Wedding Proposal Ideas
arthuruscg replied to ependydad...Doug's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
Are you running the Princess 5K together? How about doing the re-proposal at the finish line of the Princes 5k with a suprise 2nd honeymoon on a Disney Cruise with the Castaaway Cay 5k or WDW trip back with a 5K for the 15th anniversery? From the website, it looks like you will get to take pictures with Minney Mouse. It might serve as a nice suprise re-proposal picture. -
SUPER Cool Unofficial Transportation Map
arthuruscg replied to mouseketab.....Carol's topic in Travel and Transportation
If they have not driven in a city..... it is be like driving on the moon. I am from a small town county in Southern MD and I didn't like having / using GPs until I had to drive in/around DC.They are amaizing for rerouting you around traffic/accidents. Plus in areas with alot of driver that do not know the roads or even which side of the road the USA drives on, taking your eyes off the road to look at a map is scarry. I see GPS as the best tool to beat all the other old fart while they are inching in traffic. -
Baltimore to the Fort - our stops
arthuruscg replied to ependydad...Doug's topic in Camping To and From the Fort
Generally on Friday I-95 crawls (especially where the HOV lanes dump into the normal lanes around Staford) while 301 will keep moving. For me, usually 301 is faster then I-95. Both from work (Suitland) and from home (Calvert County). If you have Google maps or Waze, it should pick the fastest way for you based on current traffic. -
Baltimore to the Fort - our stops
arthuruscg replied to ependydad...Doug's topic in Camping To and From the Fort
If your are coming from Baltimore, the other option is to go down 301. The bad sections are Bowie and Waldorf, but besides that, there is less traffic. But there is a toll on the MD to VA bridge. -
Class C or Travel Trailer
arthuruscg replied to YodaGirl's topic in Camper Suggestions: from tents to Class A beauties
When thinking about accidents, remember he with the most lug nuts wins. I have scene accidents involving class As and the rvs suffered superficial damage but the cars that hit them look like they were hit by a semi. Sent from my Moto X using Tapatalk -
Transportation things that I didn't know about.
arthuruscg replied to Lou...'s topic in Travel and Transportation
I have a better way. From WL take the boat to MK, then the ferry to TTC, then the monorail to Epcot, walk out the World show case to Beach club, take the buss to DTD then the boat to POR. Sent from my Moto X using Tapatalk -
Unless it has changed since the last time I stayed at a resort, you had to get back to your resort to take the DME bus. The bus did not pick up at the parks or DTD. The easy first step for them might be to allow you to take the CR (MK), or board walk buses (EP or MGM), AKL (AK), Saratoga springs (DTD).

I originally brought up the idea on the "other board" and people shot it does because of carry on luggage. ( I guess they don't fly southwest or like to hog the over head bins with all of their clothes.) But if you allow guest to check carry ons at the DME and provide the luggage claim tickets, most of their negatives goes away. Then they bought up room check in and picking up tickets at the resorts instead of at the parks CS counters. Well, it sounds like MB is eliminating all the previous issues. Really, guests in their rooms/resorts are not spending $, so the goal should be to have them
