  1. Just had to chime in and agree.... we LOVE ken. I can't imagine anyone more Disney than he. Such a wonderful, sweet, happy man. This one I'd have to disagree with. Maybe we've just been "lucky", but over the past 10 years I've written Disney 2 or 3 times to comment on some frustrating experiences; each time, I received a phone call. On the flip side, I always try to submit positive comments as well...if they don't hear the good, not sure how long they will continue to respond to the bad. Anyway...we did get a response back on our complaints.
  2. We ran into some fire ants in September; called Disney and they sent out their grounds crew to treat the area with granules which seamed to help. We have black ants often in our home here in GA (even with quarterly pest control.... they are persistent little things!) and the Terro liquid baits have worked the best for us.
  3. Wow, that's probably why we had such good luck with our wifi this September....we were in the 100 loop right next door to a cabin. Bummer, I thought Disney had just made some improvements. So... this year, we have three trips planned, and will probably be in the 1500 loop; sounds like we shouldn't count on getting wifi reception Oh well... we're there to play and have some good family time anyway.... we can watch TV or look things up online, any old time
  4. Good thought, thanks ^-^ We'll watch the weather closely, as our trip gets closer. This is actually a surprise trip for our daughter's 7th birthday, so if it's going to be super cold...then we'll just try and push back a month or two. I grew up in Washington State where 70 is tank top and shorts weather but, after 10 years in Georgia, I realize that I do not appreciate being cold. I'd much rather sweat, than freeze. Just looking at the picture makes me cold! We were at the Fort in November of 2012 and had some chilly days/nights. Yuck. Thankfully however, no rain! Also...read
  5. Thanks...we're scheduled to arrive on the 4th, so I think we may just miss ya Kelly :- Prayerfully, jeans and shirt would be great. Our daughter would love to swim but...I'm going to prepare her that that probably won't happen. We'll be back in June so, she should get plenty of time to swim that visit :thumbsup1:
  6. So... any bets on if we'll freeze our tushes off, with our visit the first week in February? I'm rethinking the trip; maybe we should push it back a couple of months? We don't have to be in shorts and tank tops (although that's my preference ), but I also don't want to be in three layers. Thoughts from you experienced winter campers?
  7. :welcome2: I'm pretty new too... everyone has been wonderful! Have a GREAT trip!
  8. Thanks for the link Brady! Our family might try to make some at home and wear them this year to WDW. I mean, where else can a family walk around in bright tie-dye and not look like (complete) fools
  9. We've had to get a few items there as well...but (as other's have said) the eggs and milk are not too far off and the few cents is worth not having to drive to "town"! :thumbsup1:
  10. I agree...they are pricey, unless you can get a good deal...which is why we've only rented a cabin once. Renting the RV was cheaper and now were are tenting it. I think the original post said the cost (RV vs Cabin) was pretty close so, I'm guessing they got a good deal. True there too :0)
  11. We've done both...well, actually all of it: Tent, rented an RV, rented a cabin. We have 2 adults and 2 small children. Love it all. Benefit of both the RV and cabin is air/heat. Nice thing about the RV, is often times it includes a golf cart which is nice to have. In my opinion, you might be more comfortable in the cabin (with 6 people) than with the RV...simple because I think the cabin will be a little quieter than the RV (they tend to move/squeak some). Also, the full size bathroom in the cabin is much nicer than the small RV bath....plus, the cabin may be cleaner than a rented RV.
  12. Yep... the little croc style things. I had heard (from fiends here) that they fall off...I was only considering buying a set as we are surprising our daughter with a trip to WDW in February, for her birthday. I thought it would be fun to let her unwrap her bracelet/band with the sparkling little minnie's attached and then explain that we're going back to Disney...but maybe I'll just wait till we get there and offer to buy her one pack at the parks. Looks like you can a buy a package of 3 for $6.95 and they're $16+ online. I just customized our bands today, and should get those a couple of
  13. Any idea if you can purchase these online? I've searched, but only found a few on ebay.
  14. Hey Kelly... what dates will you be at The Fort? We get there on the 4th of February...
  15. Yes, previous post is correct, you can make reservations for the barber shop. We took our son there last year, on his 1st birthday, for his 1st haircut. Wonderful experience and (actually) a decent value! Our daughter is almost 7 and we haven't done the BBB yet, simply because it is so expensive. Having said that, I've asked several mommies at the park (whose daughters had obviously been there) if they were happy with the experience...and they've all said yes. Have fun!
  16. E tickets were great. The really nice thing about the tickets, was if you could not ride the rides (as, physically, some people just cannot....but they want to go to Disney to watch their loved ones have fun), then you did not have to pay to walk around the park.
  17. Wow... a billion, really?? I had not heard that one yet; that's unbelievable :dropjaw: I guess we now know (one of the reasons) Disney can be so expensive....
  18. Hi Judy! Sorry...busy day. I apologize as there has been a change. I logged on tonight, to post a notice that the tickets were no longer available. Talked with my folks late last night; they believe that are going to join us at the Fort next fall so...we're going to let them use the tickets. I had no idea that they had any interest in going back, or I would have never listed them for sale. I apologize again. Thank you for offering to purchase them. Carol gave some places above, that offer discounted tickets...not much higher than what I was selling mine for. Maybe you can pick some
  19. Thanks Carol! That's helpful to know. Looks like we should drop the price...so we'll offer them both for $650 (I'll edit my original post now...plus update how many days are on the tickets, since I forgot ) . I have them on craigslist here in Atlanta, and have had a couple of inquiries so, I think I'll be able to sell them. Thanks again!
