  1. Still diggin' the TR Ray, I think the Canada gardens are beautiful as well, and I'm with Dave, the "weed" freaks me out too, we were at Busch Gardens one time, and I was checking messages on my phone with my back to the greenery, and that thing came out behind me, my Wife's eyes went to saucers and I turned around to see it looking at me, I almost dropped my phone and ran  , freaked me out fo sho!
  2. Yes, they did talk about Gasparilla , I remember finding that funny because we live near Gasparilla Island and I wanted to go dig up the beach for buried treasure!..Arrrrrr :parrot:
  3. Why thank you TCD, I'm not sure about the Lady User___ name, but when we did the Capt Hook Adventure tour last year they called it the "Treasure Island" shipwreck and there was no sign on the ship when they shined there "torches" on it, I of course chimed in and said it was the wreck of Cap'n Flint's Walrus which lead to being brought to the front by Patch and charged with treason, good thing there was no plank on the boat!...
  4. "Here is a picture I personally took in December 1977. Ignore the date stamp....I snapped a photo of the photo a few years ago..." I really need to do that, I have so many photos from the mid 70's to mid 80's because we went every year for 2 weeks, some are on the old Kodak 110, but sadly most are Polaroid One Step pics that have faded so badly it's hard to make them out anymore, I need to salvage what I can while I can...
  5. It's so sad to see this everytime we pass by, and think how many times I stood on Cap'n Flint's Walrus shipwreck and walked on Treasure Island beach, I actually visited there more than RC, but as excited as we are to be on the boat on our way to the MK, this is still a sad stretch of the lake... :'( In it's heyday, The Walrus
  6. Thanks TCD for the trip report, it took a while but I'm caught up! We love site 123, that's where we try to stay at when we go to MVMCP. You can't take too many pics of the water bridge, just too cool, and the monorail coming out of the CR is a BIG bonus pic! Brian
  7. Oh, I had never seen the DIT harlem shake video, priceless! But when it finished, another video of his was there, DIT's 2013 in review, wow all I can say is....i'm verklempt talk amongst yourselves! I need to start doing that, time flies and they change more everyday, that's it, I'm at work with no one to hug.....Brian
  8. Man, I just read all 13 pages, all caught up and ready for more! Thanks for posting this Ray, we have never been to AK at all, let alone the AKL, the pics look great, we will be making a trek out there to check it out! O'HANA, what can I say, I LOVE that place, and yes the meat is awesome, and so is the bread pudding, then a trip down to the volcano pool with a Dole Whip and it's the end to a perfect day! Thanks again Ray! Brian
  9. I'm on it, Disney Visa don't fail me now! :mademyday: Brian
  10. It's cheaper for Florida residents to go off site, when we stay at Tropical Palms we save about $25 a night with Fla residents and AAA discounts. Brian
  11. We can only afford to stay at The Fort once a year :'( , the other times we come up we stay at the Tropical Palms RV Resort, they are minutes away from the MK off 192 right behind Old Town, great place to stay, clean comfort stations, nice wide mostly shaded sites, nice pool area and tiki bar :wave1: , plus you can walk up to Old Town for the Saturday night cruise in and numerous places to eat, it was taken over by the Carefree resort people, so they have made many improvements recently. For it being right there in the thick of things it's very quiet and laid back, and MUCH cheaper! Brian
  12. Ours was a "special" camper model, slightly smaller, but I bought a regular size one at Home Depot, I just had to round out the holes in the sink a little with a round file and boom, fits great, the wallowed out holes are covered by the faucet anyway, we like the chrome much better than the yellowed one that was in there, and it was 10 bucks cheaper than the replacement plastic one at Camping World, bonus! O0 Brian
  13. Wow, when Elvis died, we were at our last days of a Disney trip, I was 6 and we were in Kissimmee staying off 192 in an old Motel surrounded by orange groves, I remember we had just gotten in my Dad's VW Bug and heading to the Big Orange down the road for some orange ice cream, I was sitting on my Mom's lap in the front seat ( aahh the 70's) holding on to the grab handle above the glove box, when the song we were listening to stopped and a man came on and said the news that Elvis died, my Dad pulled over, and he and my Mom cried for a few minutes while they played Elvis's I did it my way, neve
  14. Here is our set up, a 2010 Nissan Armada, and the ol Command Module itself, a 2007 StarCraft StarStream. Brian
  15. We bought the Camco Olympian stailess steel grille, it hooks on the camper and uses the camper propane or the folding bracket can flip up and sit tabletop with an adaptor can use canister gas, it folds up and can go it a travel bag, we paid $140 on Amazon for the grille, and $15 for the bag, cooks great, cleans up easily. Brian
  16. Wow, seeing that tank wagon brings back some memories! Thank You for posting Discamper
  17. Yes, dolphins are a pretty common sight , this is a little cove area bordered by a sandbar, good sharks tooth and sanddollar hunting. I was there last time snorkeling and turned around and there was a dolphin right behind me, its too cool!
  18. That video is great, I only got to ride that train twice in my life, sadly two times more than my kids will ever! :'(
  19. We do Fort Desoto every year in May and we love it, you are 15-20 minutes away from St. Pete downtown area so plenty to do, but honestly we have never left the campground unless it was a quick Publix run (5mins up the road), the water is about 76 in May, shouldn't be too much colder in April, but it will be full then so plan on everything being crowded, the great thing about an island is water everywhere and good fishin! And you can't beat this view!!!
  20. Awesome Jen, I still have to order my sign, and I want to get a Snarkey and same size vinyl Musket Mickey, I do not have Pay Pal so I will have to get you a check, how much for the Musket Mickey? Thanks, Brian
  21. Now that is a million dollar idea, I love it, especially when they only have 1 fire going and it's crazy packed, you just cast the marshmallows in over the crowd, and reel'um back out, and hope you don't burn someones forehead in the process!! Brian
  22. Very cool! You don't have any photos of the cabin or FWRR, do you? I'd love to see those. TCD I may, my Mom is finally going through stuff after my Dad passed away, she layed that little nugget on me 2 days ago, she will be keeping an eye open for any Disney stuff, probably not too many pics though, as Tony said earlier, developing film was pricey so pictures were premium or they were on my Dad's Polaroid One Step and faded to nothingness! I do remember my Mom and Dad slept on the Murphy bed in the living room, and my Dad was so afraid of flipping back up in the wall, my brother and I
