Okay... newbie question.  We you being silly with this or are his suggestions a good idea?  As someone who is just learning, his suggestions sound good to me.  I've always been a big fan of the basics... and his suggestions sound like good, basic, steps.  But, I've also read that using bleach is a no-no.    :mellow:

I've never tried the geo method, but it is serious and lots of people swear by it.  I would love to hear whether any Fiends use it.

I dont use geo, but similar.

 

After each dumping and flushing of the tank, I add about a gallon of water, a capful of laundry detergent and a capful of water softener (Calgon usually easist to find). 

That's been our process for 3 or 4 years now, and no problems or oder so far.
