It said they had to order some new cables because the first ones were sub-standard and the new ones had to come from overseas. I had heard that in the beginning the test dummys were popping out of the cars.... this is just a rumour. But think about it, they are dropping you face first 300+ feet at 60 mph. Imagine the strain on the equipment and your body trying to keep everything from smashing into the ground. Either that or the free fall isn't that far and the rest of the time they are stopping you slowly.
