Have you heard any chance this will eliminate the Tier plan at Epcot?

No word on any changes to any tiers yet.

Here's what I've seen today...

In order to help Guests make the most of their Walt Disney World Resort visit during the upcoming peak period, a bonus FastPass+ entitlement will be granted to Guests making selections for Monday, March 30. This "surprise and delight" entitlement for a pre-selected attraction will only be granted to Guests visiting Magic Kingdom Park, Disney's Hollywood Studios, or Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. The bonus FastPass+ entitlement is modifiable.

Here is a screenshot showing what Guests will seen when making their FastPass+ selections today:

Guests who have already made FastPass+ selections and have not received the bonus may be issued a non-standard entitlement for one of the following attractions within the same park the Guest is visiting:

Magic Kingdom Park
-"it's a small world"
-Mickey's PhilharMagic
-Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor
-Under the Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid

Disney's Hollywood Studios
-Beauty and the Beast - Live on Stage
-Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show
-Star Tours - The Adventure Continue

Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park
-It's Tough to be a Bug!

Guests are eligible for additional FastPass+ selections (more than four) only after they have redeemed the FP+ set and the bonus, or after the arrival windows for all unredeemed selections have passed.

Well there's the kicker. It shows pirates as the 4th fast pass. That ride is always down so it won't effect anything

Kenny the Pirate posted this yesterday...

Magic Kingdom is still offering the 4 Fastpass option for new attempts today and tomorrow. Couldn't get that to happen at other parks via phone.

4th FP is always Phiharmagic, but you can change it to anything available after reserving.

FWIW he also posted a comment recently that he doesn't believe this is a "test" but rather a way for Disney to help manage the holiday crowds this week.

You know what would help manage crowds?

How about more attractions at the other parks??

Or, how about another park altogether?

You know what's interesting?  They spent between $1-2 Billion on MDE from what we read.  So let's say around $1.5 Billion.  Animal Kingdom cost, according to estimates online, close to $1 Billion in the mid 1990's to build the entire freaking park.  Put that into an inflation calculator, and it comes out to....you guessed it.  $1.5 Billion in today's dollars.  It's breathtaking to consider that, for what they spent on the MDE and MB systems, they could have built a 5th park!  Or, they could have built a WHOLE BUNCH of new rides and attractions at the existing parks.  I know....they are building Avatarland and hoping that directs some guests away from MK to AK.  Oy.

According to the article below from Orlando Theme Park News, the 4th FP+ test/bonus/thingamabob will continue until April 12th. This article also seems to suggest that this may just be a "busy times" thing...

In order to help Guests make the most of their visit during the peak period, a bonus FastPass+ offering will continue to be available to all Guests making selections for Magic Kingdom Park. Now through April 12, 2015, Guests making selections up to two days prior to their day in the park will be granted a “surprise and delight” FastPass+ entitlement for a pre-selected attraction (be sure to note that this is just a temporary offering and may not come back in the future).

Guests who have already made FastPass+ selections and have not received the bonus may be issued a non-standard, inventory entitlement for one of the following attractions:
  • “it’s a small world”
  • Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid
The attractions selected for this offering are highly rated by park Guests. However, the bonus entitlement can be modified by the Guest.

Note: Guests are eligible for additional FastPass+ selections only after they have redeemed the FastPass+ set and bonus, or after the arrival windows for all unredeemed selections have passed.
