ajcjmom's weekend at the Fort

Recommended Posts

I have tried believe me! We go to the shows and look but can't get him to commit.

My hubby was like that for the longest time. Then we won a weeks use of an rv from a local dealer. They took it to a local campground for us, set it up, showed us how everything, worked & took care of cleaning it up when we left. Hubby's original plan was to go back into work once in awhile while we were camping. That never happened & less than a year later we had purchased our TT. Now he's drooling over the 5th wheels. We'd have to upgrade our tow vehicle though for that.

The door said "Disney's Animal Programs and Environmental Initiatives"

Don't know what they were doing. Maybe someone might?

We saw these 2 people. Gotta say they love Star Wars and the Packers!

You are doing great on this report!

Those are two great photos!

I have never seen that van before, and I wonder what it was doing at Fort Wilderness.

It is worth going to Star Wars Weekends just for the people watching.

Great TR. I am enjoying your pictures. I have never been for Star Wars weekend, looks like it could be interesting

Disney does a great job. If you are into Star Wars you can meet some of the actors and such. Plus it is fun to see the Disney characters in Star Wars costumes.

We didn't stay for the whole day.

I like Star Wars but the DH isn't really into it.

We are waiting till after our black out dates to return and ride Star Tours.

We didn't want to fight the crowds.

We got our lanyards. Disney had a a/c tent set up on the other side of Rock n Roller coaster.

I did see where you could get your pic with "Princess Leia".

I wanted to check out what they were selling but DH said it was time to ride the roller coaster!

It is fun to look around. We try and use the single rider lines if possible.

So I was able to sit with a nice gentleman who had never been on the ride.

He kept asking if it was dangerous. I said no but that it did go upside down.

He told his family and the wife said what do I do with my purse.

I said put it between your legs and hold tight! :rofl2:

Why is there a shark in the sky with a butterfly?

There also is a Snarky, so we have been officially accepted by Disney.

But, why would that van have been at Fort Wilderness?

You, better than anyone, know that the Fort is an environmentally rich resort . Probably the most on WDW property.

There are many reasons why the APEI people would be there. Wildlife management, wildfire issues, environmental concerns due to lack of rain, CM education, GAG chicken, just to name a few.

GAG Chicken?

You are a riot, Lou!

I'm glad you DH has his priorities right, ride first look later :rofl2: Great advice for the first timers. I think every time I've ridden

Rockin Roller Coaster I've been on with first timers. It is always fun to see their reaction to the ride

We do this all the time too.

One time I rode with a boy of about 11. He only spoke Spanish and the extent of my "repeatable in public Spanish" is "mantenganse alejados de las puertas" and "no hablo Espanol"

So we just did a lot of smiling and thumbs up - then laughed our heads off through the whole ride!

Cool stuff. I know when our oldest son worked at AK, their area was always trying to sell the most Disney Conservation buttons.

Well I am back. Work got in the way. :rofl2:

After the roller coaster we hit the shops for a while to cool off.

I love the art deco in some of the shops.

We decided to ride The Great Movie Ride, we were wasting time till lunch.

They had changed things up a little since I was last on the ride.

We were "hijacked" in the western scene.

When we got off it was time for lunch at 50's Prime Time.

We had a great server, she had us doing homework!

We had to name 9 countries that started with I. We had 8.

Darn work, don't they know I wait for updates :rofl2: I love the art deco touches too. Hey 8 out of 9 isn't bad, did your server let have dessert anyway  In all the times I ridden the Great Movie Ride, we have only been hijacked to the western side once.

Now DH likes racing. Right now his favorites are F-1 and Indy.

NASCAR has taken a back seat, to "cookie cutter", translation boring!

I found out that in the afternoon after the NASCAR cars finish,

they have Indy cars you can drive or ride in a two seater.

We got to the racetrack around 3:30 and he was the last person for the day about 6pm.

Everyone ahead of him was driving a car.

The professional driver is ahead of you and helps you know where to drive the car.

A little background on the car DH was in.

They took it over to Iraq and Afghanistan to give rides to some of the troops over there.

Those that were able to ride, got to sign the car.
