All I have heard is that if you are to have a fire pit, it must have some sort of cover. These come with a screen for the top. Do you think they would be approved? I would hate to spend the money then be told to put it out. They are kinda pricey, but if you can wait until the summer months, they sell them half off. I got mine as a mother's day present and the people who got it for me bragged that they got it half off because it was "out of season."BTW- Mine has a solid top.
