When is your camping season starting?
Kazlac4 replied to BRDof3...Rob's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
When do we start camping?....NOT SOON ENOUGH!!!. Unfortunately our first trip will not be until mid May, but we are going to try to get lots more camping days in this season than last. I certainly envy those who live in the warmer areas!. :rofl2: -
Ah Hah...I found you all...

Welcome to the party.. :rofl2: -
If you are looking for inexpensive places to visit, or just have some time to squander while down in the Disney area you might want to check out "Old Town". It is located very close to Disney on Rt. 192. They usually have some sort of event scheduled such as antique car shows, rock and roll events, and others. They have dozens of small shops you can wander through. Some are tacky, some have neat items. It is a unique shopping area that is free to wander through. :argh: Here is the link in case someone might be interested.. http://www.old-town.com/

Just saw this on a different site (No, not THAT one!). Wonder if there is a chance that all resorts might eventually get a chance at free wireless internet (or just the deluxe ones :rofl2:). Free Wireless Internet 30 day pilot at Disney's Contemporary Resort Mar 24, 2011 Starting today for the next 30 days, guests will be able to utilize free wireless Internet in certain areas of Disney?s Contemporary Resort. The pilot program is to test a new design of a wireless/cell phone coverage configuration. Free wireless Internet access will be available only in the lobby, main pool area, The

Power Washers
Kazlac4 replied to Retired and Happy (Ken)'s topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
We certainly don't care if people wash, wax or (for that matter) perfume their RV :rofl2:, it's the annoying loud and disturbing machines of the detailers that certainly does not add to camping atmosphere. It has been noted at times to bother other nearby campers so I could see where Disney might want to put a stop to it. As for Kenny, he comes and does his dealings with each GC renter on a one-to-one basis, never having to ever "bother" any one. There is no reason for Disney to ban him other than wanting to make sure they get all the GC business. If Disney believes the same amount of people -
Thanks so much for the tip!

A quick dinner for us is to marinate some chicken tenders (or pork chops if you desire) in Italian dressing and then grill them. The dressing does a great job tenderizing them. We serve it with either a box of Stove top, or cook up a package of Lipton creamy chicken noodles. We will usually slice a few cucumbers or add a vegetable to round out the meal.

Camping with a Crock Pot.
Kazlac4 replied to Just Whipperwhirl's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
I have the Hamilton Beach "Stay or Go" model. The lid actually locks onto the base, making it harder for the critters to open the lid (but I am sure ftwildernessguy has mastered the technique! :rofl2:). The pot is oval in shape. One reminder is to do NOT forget the liners. They are a godsend and make clean up a snap!. One of our favorite crock-pot recipes is super easy. Before our trip I wash some small red-potatoes (skin on) and some of the small, pre-washed carrots. I keep these in the fridge in a zip-lock bag until needed. On the morning of the meal I pour the carrots and potatoes into th -
Great Smokey Jellystone, Gatlinburg, TN
Kazlac4 replied to DaveInTN's topic in Pictures from other Campgrounds
Funny, Twin Creek and Twin Mountain were the other 2 CGs on our list. I didn't think that Yogi had the shuttle but thought I might just have overlooked it on their site. Thanks for the info! We are planning on heading there in September and hear it is a beautiful area to visit! :) -

Dave, Thanks for posting these pics. We are planning a trip to the Smokies this September (as long as the price of gas doesn't hurt our plans too much), and still are deciding on a CG. This was one high on the list. I am glad you enjoyed it. Do you happen to remember if the trolley that travels through town stops at this campground? Thanks! -

This is site #215. It is on the inside of the loop. We thought it was just right! This was site #210. It is on the outside of the loop and we felt it was a tighter fit than #210. (Although our camper was larger we still felt the site itself was more narrow than 210). If you sat at the far side of the picnic table at this site you could just about stretch your arm out and touch the pop-up that was next to us. :-\ Hope they help. Sorry they are not better. We will make sure next time to get more precise pics of our site!

We recommend the Zip line course...
Kazlac4 replied to Kazlac4's topic in Hobbies outside of the Fort to do and see
From what I could see (remember I was the one on the ground so it looked easy to me!) :rofl2:, they gear you up and then give you an approximately 10-15 minute lesson on the rules and ways of zip lining. You then climb up and one by one start the course. You climb from tree to tree across a course hooked up to the lines. You get to go across different obstacles (some were 2 rails which you would walk across, others were set up like wooden slats that you walked across, some seemed more difficult than others but all seemed a bit different from one another). You are hooked to the wires during eve -
On our last trip down to Florida in November we went to the Central Florida Zoo (which I believe was in Sanford), about a 45 minute ride from DW, and my DH, DS and DIL all did the Zoom-Air zip line course. I believe there were 3 different courses to choose from (as well as a kid's course). The adult prices ranged from about $21 to $45 depending on how many courses you chose. Due to health issues I passed on this adventure but was able to get some great pics. It was certainly one of the highlights of the trip..a whole different experience from Disney but the kids (including the DH) had a BLAST!
