  1. Yes. Assateague is a state park in Maryland where the wild horses roam the CG. They roam right through your campsite. You cannot pet them but you must lock all your food up because they will invite themselves to your food if they get the chance. The CG is right on the beach, a one of a kind!.
  2. Kudos to you for camping in the snow. I know lots of campers enjoy it but I certainly do not. Give me 70 degrees and sun!
  3. This was what I could say was one our most interesting camping trips. It was at Assateague State Park in September of 2009 right after a nor'easter that the weather-people slightly underestimated (to say the least!). Our TT shook from side to side all night due to the wind, and this is what we woke up to! and this... but it ended up beautiful..like this! . No matter what the weather, it is a beautiful place to visit!.
  4. Welcome! Have a great trip to the Fort on Friday. I am sure that we ALL wish we were right there with ya! Any pics from the Fort showing some sun and warmth would sure go a LONG way for us up north. Wishing you many new Fort memories!
  5. We stayed there on our way down last year. When heading south, you get off the SOB exit and as soon as you enter the "town" there was a gas station on both the right and left sides of the road. The CG (as I recall) was basically behind the one on the left side of the road. We checked in the office (a large barren room) but the clerk was efficient and and nice. The AAA rate was only $22. We pulled in at night and left early a.m. so we really didn't visit the town, but I do know that the recently updated indoor pool is open to campground guests. The park itself seemed old but very clean. Of note
  6. RV.Net is also where I found about this place. I did the happy dance :dance:when I saw LornaDuck's post. (I went back today to give LornaDuck a note of thanks (and to bump it up so others might catch it also, hope it helps).
  7. Dan! So good to see you here! You post anything you want, we are here for you. DITTO What they said! Double ditto. We even have a new Prayer and Moral support forum. Please don't hesitate to use it. Glad you're here.
  8. You can do Downtown Disney and walk through the shops. It usually is much less crowded during the day than after dinner. (They have a carousel and small train ride if I remember correctly, as well as some of water fountains for the kids to run through if hot). We always take one afternoon to check out some different resorts. On our last trip we took the bus to Epcot and then hopped on the monorail to the Grand Floridian and checked it out. We then got back on the monorail to the Contemporary where we had lunch, You could stop and let the little ones play at the playgrounds if they want. We the
