  1. I just got my Kindle last week :partythree:, so I am still learning the ins and outs..I am currently reading "A promise to remember" by Kathryn Cushman. It is one of the freebies. I imagine if I stayed off this site a little longer I just might get to finishing the book LOL!.
  2. Coffee, our comfy camp chairs, coffee, with a good book (to be replaced by my new Kindle!!) :siren:, oh, and did I mention coffee? :partythree:
  3. This spring and summer we will be staying at nearby CGs and state parks to keep the fuel costs down. We then will be able to keep our trip to Tennessee in September but will need to move our routine November trip to the Fort to March 2012 (in order to keep the budget intact). That's the plan for now..I am sure it will need to be tweaked! (I just hope the gas never gets as high as they are projecting! :partythree:)
  4. MagicBus, Thanks for the interesting facts! The drivers do a great job in keeping the masses moving from one place to another. One of our best experiences on a DW bus was the time we were staying at the Caribbean and about 2 minutes after we boarded the bus at the resort I realized that I had left my purse at the bus stop :rofl2:. It was midday so the bus had only about 6 others at this point, and when the bus driver (as well as everyone else on the bus!) heard me yell "oh my god, I left my purse back there", he promptly made a u-turn in the parking lot and went back to the bus stop. My purse
  5. Hope you are as happy with your Rockwood as we are. The only thing that beats the anticipation of picking up your new TT is taking your first trip out in it. Congrats!
  6. Sure wishing I was lying on that chair right now!
  7. Can someone tell me where I can find out what park refurbishments  will be going on during November? I know there is a list that regularly gets posted but I can't seem to find it (along with my keys and my eyeglasses ! :rofl2:
  8. We have been in the 200 loop twice, once on the inside of the loop (site 215) and then last year I believe we were at site 210 (outside loop). Both of these sites were easy to get into with our 29' TT. We loved being so close to the marina and settlement area, but the sites were somewhat close (but each time we had great neighbors, so there was no problem :bellringer:.
  9. It's always been our dream to witness a launch. We have been down there 3 times for scheduled launches over the years but all 3 had been postponed so we missed them all . Our next trip down to Disney is in June but we are flying in and out for a short trip with the grandkids. When NASA made their last changes we looked at the schedule and realized that the June launch is scheduled for the day we leave Disney. We will be flying out 3 hours PRIOR to the scheduled launch..UGH!!!!!!
  10. Wow..I probably would have freaked if this happened to us while we were going down I95 :D, but once again, good old duct tape to the rescue. My DH's favorite go-to problem solver!
  11. I am not sure if any of the campgrounds in the Wildwood/Cape May area are that good. We did stay at Sea Shell last year but wasn't too impresses. We are going to try this place this year since it's in our home state. http://www.lakekandle.com/ Abagpiper5: Glad to see you found this site. I am the person who sent you the PM on the "other" site today. I saw that you had questioned where the "regulars" had went to. I sent the hello from NJ note with my email address and had hoped that maybe you would drop a line. I figured I would then give you this site's address. Glad to see you found it anyw
  12. Sounds Dangerous with Drew Cary. So BORING (but actually I took a quick nap while there so I guess maybe it wasn't all that bad! :kickinass:) Vikki
  13. I had asked once before about the MVMCP and was told that they post the dates in April or May, so I will be keeping my eyes open for this also. As for the tickets, we used Undercover tourist because I found them to be the cheapest when we were looking. That doesn't mean there are no others, but they seem to be the name that comes up whenever asked. I had originally enrolled in AAA but their prices weren't better than UT, and they only offer certain types of tickets (We were looking for No expiration and AAA doesn't sell them). :kickinass:
  14. The ONLY way to make the Disney Visa dollars work for you is if you DO NOT use it like a credit card. We use it like our debit card. Each time I use it I type in my checkbook the amount spent (with a "D" in the date box) and make sure to subtract the amount I put on the Visa from our checkbook balance. At the end of the week I go through my checkbook and add up all the items with the "D" next to them. That is how much I spent on the Disney card, so I go online and send that amount to them (from my checking account). I have had the card for 2 years now and have not paid a dime interest to Visa
  15. Thanks to all for such quick responses. Wow, there certainly are many different price levels. Hopefully they don't raise them too much next year! We may only have an option to go in March or early April (before Easter), so it looks like we better start earning more Disney dollars through Visa!
  16. And no, I don't mean winter, spring, winter or fall! (Although the words spring and summer always do have a calming effect on me! . Anyway, I have been searching for the chart that displays when the peak and off-peak times begin and end but have not been able to find them anywhere. Trying to make early decisions for 2012..thanks!
  17. http://www.plastic-flamingos.com/specialty-flamingos/color-flamingos/purple-flamingo-qty-1-flamingo Don't know if these are too tacky (is there such a thing?), but they are certainly purple!
  18. The way I used it was I first went onto their site and checked out the list of participating restaurants. I saw that the buffet at the Swan had a deal on the site so I then purchased the discount for that restaurant. The fact that Mousesavers gave a discount code making it only cost me $2 was the clincher for me. I wouldn't have paid full price. I then went back a different time and typed in restaurants in my home city and picked out one that took $15 off a lunch tab (also costing me $2). This brought my lunch at this upscale restaurant cost me not much more than a McDonald's value meal! I do
  19. Not sure if any of the reported "renovations" :parrot: will be going on by then, which may make a difference in which loop you prefer, but I am sure any and all changes will be reported in detail, so most likely you will be able to make a decision that is best for you. We have been in the preferred loops in the past but on our next trip we think we were going to recommend the 1400 loop to try something new .
  20. Not sure if this would help anyone, but Restaurant.com may be able to save you some money (at Disney or at home). I found them through Mousesavers.com (where a code was offered). I was able to purchase a certificate for $25 discount for the Garden-Grove buffet at the Swan. The discount coupon only cost me $2 with the code, and I was able to purchase it using Paypal. I have since used restaurant.com for some restaurants closer to home and have been very happy with each purchase. :parrot:
