  1. Hey Gwen, Dee-Wayne checking in and will be along for the ride.  It was really good to see you again, and to finally meet David.  I hate we didn't catch each other while we were there.  Also sorry that I couldn't help you guys get your propane or water issues solved.  But, hey, who needs water or flame, you were at one of the best places around!

We drove straight through Jacksonville with no problem -- except that I shut my eyes over the high bridge.

I will always remember this spot… Several years ago when we had our 5th wheel, we had a tire blow out on the way to the Fort at this very spot.  The biting flys and mosquitoes just about carried me away while I tried to change the tire.

Don't you just love that bridge?  I think crossing that thing is the highlight of the drive down…  I especially like to drive near the edge so I can look over… Claudine won't even open her eyes until we get to the other side.

  2. Kelly, Because I am such a nice person (don't believe me, just ask me and I will tell you) and due to the fact that I want to be like Dave when I grow up, I will make you this offer... I will drive down my motorhome from the Raleigh area to the Fort... you just pay for gas there and back, for the site to park it on and I won't charge you anything for its use. It comes complete with a comfy king size bed, full bath, kitchen, and living room... All I ask is that you put me up in the Contemporary or the Wilderness Lodge during your stay...

    How's that for a deal?!

  3. This guy will do well as an architect or some sort of designer because "he gets it"...  He actually thinks about how something he designs will be used in practicality.  We all as campers see where some of the designers today have totally lost their minds somewhere along the way.  How many times have you sat in your camper, or tried to use a feature that looked good in a sales brochure, but had no useful or practical purpose once you bought it.  I have often said that the folks designing things, and I don't care what it is either, have never had to use or work on anything they have designed...

  4. We had a dinner reservation there last week as well as a lunch fast pass...  Did the dinner, but passed up the lunch for some other frivalous activity I'm sure...  I ordered the braised pork, Claudine had the steak, and Ashleigh ordered the salmon...  The steak and pork came out perfect... according to Ash, the salmon tasted fishy, and guess who had to trade inorder to make the princess happy?   Well at least I got at least one bite of the pork.

We had awesome seats over by the snowy windows looking back across to the entrance.  The designers did a great job of coming up with the theming...

  5. One of the things that I did early on when we bought our RV was to replace the throne... Winnie put a foot flush, plastic Dometic model that was really cheap and just was not comfortable... I replaced it with a Sealand china model with a foot flush and hand sprayer. Not sure about some of the other models listed, but the one we have is able to use a standard seat from any Lowes or Home Depot instead of the plastic seat that typically comes with the unit from the factory...
